FOR THE LAST TIME. konami fixed the response issues according the the latest code that pesfan and wenb have. DO NOT WORRY ;)
I am downloading now. PS STORE updated late so I couldn't download it.

To be honest, the response times of PES09 are horrible... I have not played the demo yet, but I'm not worried about the response times as I think anything is better than 2009.

PES09 haves a few nice touches, but the response times is one of the negatives for me... the sharp turns are unrealistic, and all the players (regardless of their skill) feel unrealistically responsive.

Have you played the demo? What do you think of the response times?

After playing the demo for 2 days, only one conclusion is possible: This is a BETA!

So many unpolished details!!!

The horrible GKs, the so many not whistled fouls, the S - L - O - W reaction times, the defenders speed limit bug (Puyol can't go around Toni), passing also seems to be way less precise....

I could go on four hours!!!

I really hope the final version has corrected ALL of this issues...

My exact sentiments. This beta/demo is shyt. If the retail version plays anything like this I will be avoiding the game, I'll stick to PES09 or I'll play the F!#4 game this year. The graphics/player models/pitch look very good as does the cpu AI but I cannot get past the unresponsive, sluggish controls. How did they manage to regress in this area?

We're not seeing enough variations in goal scoring - it all looks the same, every goal you score. The other futbol game has many different scoring animations - I wish Konami would work on this area of the game as well as many others.

^The goal variations are much better in pes 10 than in pes 09 so far.

Well the response needs fixing for sure. But according to the review code (the demo we have is al old build) the response times are much better.:)

Having played both demo's FIFA and PES they BOTH have issues.

FIFA = Childs play run, run, run with little realism in gameplay and dodgy camera angles. But great licenses and good graphics.

PES 2010 = Slow but more realistic changing direction, annoying thud of the ball and dodgy crowd chants. Shooting is better, free kicks better, goalkeepers a little better.

Basically its horses for courses FIFA for me will be a good game but will be plagued by online cheats and run, run, run mentality crappy 'school boy' players. PES given its feedback on here may well be blessed with Messi, Ronaldo and Etoo running types not buying the game and therefore allowing fans who love football and want to play realistic online soccer to do so.

These type of players.............wont be missed!

Its not just the response times which are rubbish, the whole gameplay mechanic is.

That's just you and fifa fans like you.
I like both games. So far fifa demo is better because it's more complete.
But the video of the review code (90% build) is looking really good and the response has improved so maybe in the end we will have 2 great football games. And I believe we will.
BTW Fifa also has issues which I want fixed. But they aren't mentioned by some for some reason.

Waiting....
I've spent a bit more time on it and as I'm getting accustomed to the gameplay, I'm enjoying it more. However, it's still inferior to FIFA. It's the slow responsiveness and slightly restricted passing that needs to be tuned before the final release, for it to be a very good game again. The goalkeepers are still rubbish, despite showing some improvements.

Sadly I agree.

I've spent a good hour on both games and heres my review on the PES2010 demo.

When I got to the Menu, I immediately said, "It looks slick and very good". I then thought, "right, next screen will be selecting teams"...How I was wrong, it looks better than the previous versions with the Select Team, Stadium, Game Plan all on the same screen.

I then went to to organise my team. This got very confusing, especially the Tatics, so I just left everything on Default and went straight to the game. Very nice thing theres no loading screens which is very good. Refs checking the nets before kick off(I'm still unimpressed that the nets are still exactly the same since PES2008).

As soon as I started the game, It felt different. I had to get used to it, It took a good first half to get used to the slower pace of the game. It's good that you can't just run through a whole team with an average player in 10 seconds. I also noticed the AI seem alot smarter although I still experienced bad defending which is a let down, other than that, its harder to win the ball back.

The passing & shooting has been reworked. The passing is better, the only thing I don't like is the unresponsivness its like a split second delay, lets hope It's different come the final release. The shooting has been worked on, this is very noticable, the ball feels heavier and actually feels and looks like the ball is a proper match ball and not a floater.

All in all, the demo is GOOD not GREAT. I was expecting more I must say, It's a step forward from PES2009, but not a huge step. I'm going to give the demo a 6.75/10.

At the end of the day though, It's all about taste & personal opinion. Some of you may like the slower pace, some of you may not, It's just the way you want the game to be but unfortunately its not up to your standards. No one here can say things like "PES is better than FIFA", "FIFA is better than PES" because these are not true facts, they are simply a personal opinion, and people need to learn to respect that and not say things like "No its not, so and so is".

I read negative responses about the demo whilst at work on Thursday, so I wasn't expecting much. Took me a little to get used to the fluid movements in the first game - 0-0 France vs Germany, but in the second game I beat Liverpool 2-1 as Barca and I enjoyed it a lot. Wasn't sure I'd buy it, as I'd like to finish my BAL on 09, but I think I'll probably get it on release day.

It surprises me how some think it's slow to respond, whereas I thought it was quicker than before, but it's like some think NFS Shift is a good game and I think it's got game-ruining, terrible physics.

I've been playing Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer for about 7 years, and this is by far the best soccer game I've played. However, I've disliked a few aspects about this PES 2010 demo:

- Referees are weird. They give fouls where they don't exist, don't give some fouls where they exist, and it takes too much violence for them to give a yellow card.

- The game is more tatical, and that was great. To play it in the top levels (and online) you got to know about football, or you'll be left behind. BUT there is a slight problem, at least in PC Demo version: there's a little delay in a few commands, and this has been comprimising my plays, specially my finishes.

- The penalty system is too sensitive. I have had about seven or eight penalty opportunities, and I've scored only twice (with a goal in the middle). I have NO idea of the power I'm applying to the ball (a power bar would fit well) or where is it going (too high, too much to the side).

- Whenever I tackle an opponent (or vice versa) and the ball goes out of bounds, in 80% of the cases the one who has tackled gets the throw in, when it should be the other's throw in. The same thing applies to corner kicks and stuff.

- The long passes (I don't mean crosses, I mean those long passes made pressing "W" button, or triangle in PS3) are TOO WEAK, so whenever we need a steady, decided pass to 20m ahead, to make the player sprint and get it, or to make a counter attack, it won't work.

- Players always wait for the passes. That gives chance to the defender to come up and steal the ball. The player who is receiving the ball must "pick it up", as we say here in Brazil, meaning, he must go to it.

- The defenders wait for you while a counter attack or a front attack. That is interesting in some cases, but in other it looks totally weird. The solution to this problem is the midfielder that supports the defence coming from behind, so you have to sprint and then you hit the defence's "wall". But it's still weird, you jog with the ball and no one comes to try tackling it.

- The crowd chantings and all is great but they got to stand up at least when you score!

Well, I think that's it! I've posted this because I'm a PES Player and always will be, so I'm eager to see improvements in the next versions!

After playing nearly 10 hours of PES 2010, I only have one thing to say: WTF!!!:brickwall:

Granted it has improved from 08 and 09, but Konami why are you playing with my emotions like this:crymore:. I almost started crying after playing a few games. Played a few more to see if I was in some sort of horrible nightmare, but the game didn't get any better.

I'm really hoping that there are a lot more improvements to come, but I highly, highly doubt it.

I bought PES 2008 and because of that game, I didn't buy 09. Consequently, because of the demo, I'm sure as hell not gonna buy 2010 anymore. You're killing me Konami and there's only one thing that I hate about every single PES games thus far. I'll sum up my issues.

The Goods (Need I say anything):
-graphics and appearance
-cut scene animations
-menu
-music is not even bad
-everything is flawless as I would expect
-except for one thing:

The Bad: GAMEPLAY, GAMEPLAY, GAMEPLAY!!!!!!:realmad:

Yes, 360 degree dribbling is in, but are you yanking my chain. The game still plays horrible:realmad:.
-I can still just run right through the defense, there’s no defensive urgency!!! I didn’t even get a single free kick near the box or even in the box:realmad:.
-Neither is there any attacking urgency. I ran towards the touchline and instead of trying to keep the ball in, the player just let the ball roll out of play:realmad:.
-I passed the ball back to my keeper and it slowly rolled into the net:realmad:.
-And what’s up with the dribbling! You make a sharp right and it looks like it takes the player an eternity to make the turn:realmad:.
-Shooting is the same. Trying winding one up from outside the box and you’ll see what I mean:realmad:.

I STRONGLY, STRONGLY suggest that Konami use the FIFA’s shooting system, or revert back to Winning Eleven’s style of shooting. There needs to be a power/height bar when crossing shooting and passing (and I don’t mean the manual R3 stick).

For those of you who disagree with me, you can condemn me all you like, but I’m just calling it as I see it. Konami is throwing away a perfectly good game. It has everything, EVERYTHING a good soccer game needs except the one factor that makes a soccer game a soccer game; the gameplay. It won’t be long until FIFA starts to become the best football game in gameplay as well as editing, graphics, and downloads (They sure as hell are on their way). I want to play this game SOOOO bad, but the gameplay is that poor. Imitate FIFA09’s gameplay for all I care. Or use Winning Eleven 9’s gameplay. I’ll definitely be happy with either, but I’m begging you for all that is Pro Evo, thrash this next gen idea that you seem to call ‘gameplay’:faceplm:.

I still stick to some of my statements, but I have to admit that I jumped the gun a little. The above statements were made while playing on regular difficulty. On top player and professional, it's not that bad. The game still needs plenty of fixing based on gameplay, but at least this year I know that I'll be buying PES this year. The final build will surely be better:happy:.

(I hope that they include substitution animations everytime someone gets subbed off not just some of the time).

Pes in nothing more than another game to me now. Its not like its a 'must buy' or anything anymore. I dont really care about it now like i used too. Now this winter there are like 5+ games that are truely amazing and tbh i can oly afford like 2, maybe 3 pushing it and so Pes doesnt come close. OPF2 and Cod MW2 are gonna be sick and NFS Shift looks out of this world good and then there's Assassins Creed 2.

I really want Pes but everytime i play the demo in hope 'it might be better this time' after about 20 mins the gameplay is just too bad for me to get into it. Ok its not crap or anything but its so below my expectations i feel depressed that ill never get a game like Pes 6 again and were doomed to play this slow, unresponsive game for the next 5 years.

Mmmm worst reply ever? Just played Fifa 2010 for the first time in 1 week and if i get either it will be fifa. The gameplay may not get that great and dull in points but at the end of the day the package is amazing.

Forget responsivness. It is supposed to be fixed. I just cannot say anything right now on the pes demo because responsivness kills the action. But still much better overall play than pes 09.
The passing and response have been improved in the latest code. So we can hope (responsivness kills the game at times, that's why with more responsivness I believe it'll make a difference).
