Mr Lover Man
So I finally got round to downloading the demo this morning and just had one quick game. Before saying what I thought I'd like to just add that I've just come back from a weekend away with friends. While there I played a lot of PES 2009 for the first time in over 6 months. Anyway all I can say is that the demo felt very much the same as 2009 if not more rigid. I didn't mind PES '09, I bought it on release day, but I gradually started playing FIFA more and more as I found it to be the better of the two last year. This PES 2010 so far, from the little I've played, hasn't done a good job of making me change my mind in which game I'll be playing the rest of the year. I'll play a few more games and I'll be open minded.

Also online is a HUGE factor for me. I only play football games either online or against a mate at home. So I personally am not fussed about who's got the better manager mode which some may say Pro others say FIFA. Anyway what I'm just trying to get across is that I know where I stand with how FIFA will play online, Pro on the other hand :/ It wouldn't have been a bad idea to have added an online mode to the demo so we could see how it plays. I know this happens very rarely in demos but I'd like to try it before I buy it.

my opinion

This game is gonna be the best pes ever, it's a fucking masterpiece.

Let me say that fifa seems to me like a game for kids, it's just something terrible. You don't feel like you playing football, players are like ghosts on the pitch, they have no weight.
If there isn't for pes i wouldn't play any soccer game at all.

The problem is though - that in this PES demo - almost everything is controled by the cpu!?!? Doesn't that make that a game for kids? ;o)
For example: you don't even have control of your passes or when you want your forward to make deep runs... Very simulationish...

^ Don't rise to it pal... end of the day I think that FIFA wipes the floor with PES in many areas... but then again PES beats FIFA in many areas. The only disappointing thing is FIFA is taking the upper-hand due to Konami's slack approach over the past 3 years. Althought the final code of PES will probably (hopefully) be better than the demo. I don't see it improving the things that need to be addressed IMO.

DM86 is pretty much bang on, i played PES most of last year then gave FIFA 09 a chance and it's pretty decent, for realism in movement it's great and i feel good when i score as i have to work for it through passes and not run past the whole team with someone like in PES.

If they only make the game bloody harder for us!

So in the end, both demos have issues that needs fixing. Fifa feel more complete at the moment.
If both get the things right, I believe we will have 2 good football games.

Pes 2010 is the ultimate simulation around, there is no question about it

i can hardly wait for oct. 23!
fifa is for under-age only, everybody gets what he needs! It's not a fault it's just a matter of facts

Fifa will never replecate pes's shooting and thus will never be truely amazing.

Whats the point though? i mean what good is the shooting if the keepers are poor? I havent seen the keeper make ONE one handed high save, not one.

PES's shooting of old yes... but what with have now?? NO!!!

The animations of the players in FIFA while shooting is far superior... Perhaps the ease of scoring is a let down, but it is down to each individual player to find new creative ways of scoring. Something that PES I feel has always bettered FIFA at.

The final product ie scoring on PES is a let down for me... you work hard over the pitch with neat passes and build great chances, but the BODY physics when the players strike the ball to shoot just looks wrong IMO.

The shooting is terrible in the PES 2010 demo. Compared to the much older versions, it always has been on the current gen consoles.

There was nothing like cracking a 30 yard shot with Recoba, Rivaldo or Veron on the PS2 installments.

I've never had that feeling on the 360 games.

^ Yea I get what ya mean mate... But it seems like the players all have the same stance when kicking the ball which I think is poor. End of the day, Torres has got a completely different type of shot animation compared to Gerrard in real life. I don't expect them to get it perfect in that respect, but they could at least have a few different types of shot. Bit of variety would not go a miss.
