No seriously there's 360° but several reasons make it less evident.

1) Slow responsiveness - is fixed in the review version
2) Hardware limitations - if you controller sucks
3) Old Habits - after being used 10 years to move in 8 directions, you need time to lose that habit and start taking different angles
It's cleary not 360 degrees, if you play the Fifa 10 demo then play this then you'll see the difference, but if PES2010 does infact have proper 360 degree movements then it's been done poorly, which isn't very surprising from Konami.

I'm starting to feel the responsiveness a lot more now :(

I'm thoroughly enjoying the shooting, I always think the shooting in PES is great. But I'm having a lot of simple through balls being too close to the defender at the moment, and it's really letting me down that when my player has an 18 yard gap (ish) away from his marker, the defender is still getting the ball to his feet. It sometimes feels like I'm passing to the defender as well :/

At first the game seemed good. Good menus, music, i was having fun with the slider but then i actually played the game. The response times are so bad that even a massive improvement would leave them lagging still. The shooting feels really disatisfying. The ball is like a medicine ball, the shooting annimations suck, the keepers parry everything in the same 09 annimation and the nets are like fishing nets which makes every goal seem crap.

Everything is good apart from the on the ball gameplay. The movement of some players is horrific. Like Aurelio. The guy is a quality LB but in pes his running annimation almost makes me wanna be sick its so bad and his ball control is that of a fuking elephant and its the same with everyone other than the World class players. You cant weave and turn like you could in pes 5/6 which is why those games were so good. Now i feel like a steam roller when running and turning.

I think im just gonna spend my money on flahpoint 2 but i wont if i can see what the review code is like and if its good. Im not trying to be captain whine but 2010 isnt half the game i thought it would be. I was expecting the quick, agile gameplay of the ps2 days but they seem to be trying to copy fifa's slow style and unless your have over a 1000 annimations and a big budget, your barking up the wrong tree.

Konami, stick to what your good at.

The demo is not good. The player response times are close to FIFA 09 and that's bad news as far as I'm concerned. I am also in shock at how little freedom I'm being given when passing - I've got a player square of me and one diagonally behind me. Without turning back I should be able to pass to the player diagonally behind me, the body of the player I'm controling turning as the pass is made. FIFA does it fine. PES forces the pass to the player square of me. That's one of many examples where my passes aren't going where I'm asking them to.

The FIFA crossing model which I'm loving in the demo for FIFA 10 is vastly superior to the one in PES and although its an attempt at making a distinct difference between soft and hard through balls, the weight of the ball makes the game feel a bit stagnant sometimes.

Shooting seems fine (so far) but I've not done much of it as I was concentrating on working crosses with venomous yet realistic curl as I do in FIFA and it just wasn't happening in PES.

The 360 degree movement isn't as fluid as it is in FIFA either. This is the first year when FIFA has ever felt like a true football game to me and I honestly think they've done very well with the demo - I'm concerned only that they might change things in the final product which I'm loving in the demo, diminishing my enjoyment.

The only saving grace overall is that I said I would wait until playing the final products before making a definitive decision. A demo can deceive but it does not look good for PES.

Gah, I'm getting more and more frustrated the more I play. I have only had one cross so far go to any player in the box. And that was a manual cross from far out of the 'auto-cross' area. The cross was awesome and achieved exactly what I wanted, I'll give Konami that, but the ball falls at feet level, anyone would volley that. My forward goes for a diving header and doesn't get any contact on the ball at all.

There's also the little problems in '09 recurring, two of my own players running for a free ball and the AI changing which player I'm controlling mid-run. The guy who was closest to the ball and the one I was controlling, goes off into AI cookoo land or something, and because I'm still pressing the thumbstick for his direction, the new guy I'm unwillingly controlling turns round. Easy ball for the other team to collect.

I also had the chance for an absolute first-time screamer before a defender got there. The player running onto the ball then does some weird stuff, completely slows down. Again, defender gets the ball before me.

EDIT: just scored an absolutely awesome goal though, albeit lucky, considering Torres went in a completely different direction to the one I wanted to.

how couldnt some of u guys feel 360 degree movement? i've sticked with the old movement too long to recognise the new movement right away. i played pes2010 on pc with ps2 controller and easily to feel 360 degree movement, except for dpad, definitely 8 directions. gameplay is slower than pes2009 but not slow enough, i still can push the pace very high. long shot is heavier, more powerful. i scored 1 goal from 40m with torres, but actually because of the goalkeeper AI. the ball hit the bar then hit the ground, bouncing back and the goalkeeper was on the way back, he just "touched" the ball instead of catch it, pushing the ball into the net ....

Taking into consideration that this is an incomplete game with the release still being 5 weeks away; I'm very happy. First few games were a little annoying/frustrating but then the more I played the better it felt. Classic Pro Evo.

Obviously there are a few bugs, which will be dealt with by the time the final version hits the shelves, hopefully. But all in all a solid game.

As for complaints regarding the response times, Adam from wenb was adamant that the response times are considerably better in the review code he has.

My only gripe is that after playing FIFA10 demo the passing in PES10 feels stiff and unresponsive, I agree fully that when a few players are scattered together your pass tends not to go to the player you want it to, no matter how precise you are with the direction, that is my biggest worry. FIFA10 passing is immaculate.

Verdict; Apart from the passing, I've enjoyed this more than FIFA10 and this was the season I was finally going to move to the other side, but if the few niggling annoyances are taken care of and the passing becomes more fluid, there is no doubt in my mind that PES10 is the better footy game.

Actually i'm really confused about the 360 movement. I haven't play the pes demo yet, but i has been try the fifa10 demo. In fifa10 i'm also can felt that the player still move in 16 way of direction. (ps3 console).

Fifa 10 will going to introduce the 360 dribbling, by the way pes will introduce the 360 movement, is there any different in between this?

Let's be honest, if PES 2010 was made up purely of last years game with a few updated transfers (which is not far off the truth) Adam from WENB would hype it like it was the best thing since sliced bread (or FIFA 09).

WENB members are generally deluded souls, I read some of their feedback on the demo and some of them wrote things like "I can't wait to read what Adam thought of it", as if to say "If Adam from WENB likes it then we all should".

WENB is essentially a PES website where the key members probably feel like they can't say anything bad about PES. I downloaded one of their podcasts last year before PES 2009 in which Adam said how brilliant the build he had played was, it was a load of bullshit.

That website is as biased as they come. Seemingly there only for the purpose of Konami's hardcore fans and die hard FIFA-haters who regardless of the now predicatable lack of progression would camp outside of Gamestation the night before release to get their hands on the next (and inevitably poor) installment of PES.

Goalkeepers are dreadful!! About 70% of the goals i've scored and conceded have been down to the keepers.

I saved a penalty with Reina, and he fell over the line with the ball. . . quite frustrating!

I think the 360 degree dribbling will improve the game, it'll just take a while to master.

The first touches of players are awful at times, and i know when you use the R1 button to control a pass, it should be expected, but its happened on numerous occasions that by just using the d-pad or Analogue stick, the ball pings off the players foot and goes about 5-10 yards away from the player.

The shooting does seem improved, i like the way players will scuff a shot horribly if under a lot of pressure.
The crossing system has changed too, in 09 i probably succeeded in finding a player 9 times out of 10, which lets face it, isn't too realistic, it now seems a lot more difficult to pick out a man.

All in all i think there is a lot to do, but i think i still prefer it to the fifa demo, just hope the keepers and the response times are sorted in the final build!

Just curious. What time did the ps3 demo get into the ps store? At 8pm it wasn't there yet..

It looks like konami have removed the invisible walls. Good! Furthermore it feels a bit more realistic than pes09. Great passings. And the keeper rushes out properly instead of the sideways slow moving in 09.

However, i dont think they have improved the referees. Still to much assisting tackle!!! the players still move in a funny way. You still get stucked in different directions :(

But i'll give it a go and play some more games.

Overall it is better than 09 - just not that much as i had hoped for..

First of all LOL at people thinking this is gonna be a whole new game , are you really that dumb?
I have to say some aspects are certainly improved and quite different from Pes 2009 and are positive , however some other things could also improve..
As said the responce time is a major thing , and glad that it has been improved in the later builds as said.
Another thing is why can't they fix the running animation? come on .... they can make realistic faces yet players run like robots , its ridicilous...
360 feels good and u need to get used to it to really play well with it , shooting is also quite good.
Goalkeepers are still somewhat weird in some situations and hope they improve in the final game.
Overall its not that bad if some of these issues are fixed in the full game.

Fully agree and it's the fundamental problem that dictates why the rest of us level-headed souls have to suffer a 'polished update' every year.

If the fanboys could make noises about what a poor offering they are having to endure each year instead of gushing about how great the game is (and how awful FIFA is) then somethng might actually get done about it!

Personally I'd love to see Capcom port a version of Football Kingdom onto current gen and attempt to iron out all the problems the current two of FIFA and PES have. That way we could have a brand new game with no existing fanboys that could be properly judged and hopefully improved as required.

I can't say much as this has been the first year I have read reviews/feedback from wenb. Although your suggestion does hold water as posters from wenb have critisized Adam for being biased towards the 2009 installment, so maybe you're right.

In any case, I am hardly influenced by others, I have played both the demos now and have enjoyed PES2010 a little more but the passing and slow responsiveness is a major issue. I will play both the final versions. Unlike some I have NO allegiance to either EA or Konami. I will pay for the game that plays the best simulation of football.

Ive just spoke to my mate and he said he was gonna get Operation Flashpoint 2 so i think im throwing in the towel with pes and will be playing co-op with my mate in what should be the best FPS ever made, i really think its over for me and Pes. I can only afford 1.

Yh sure 2010 isnt so bad and it was only a demo etc but there are so many fundemental things wrong with it. The spped of the game should be pes 6 (ps2) but its far too slow, shooting looks like it'l never return to pes 5 days and in general everything seems bad in gameplay terms and seems like its there to stay. Its not even that hard to imagine a pes 6 with all this new stuff but they just dont see it. Why change pes's ethos if it was so good. Surely they must see gameplay has gone down the shitter in the last 3 years.

Im so gutted and i really mean it. I never thought this day would come and it genuinly hurts to say it but i wont be buying Pes this year. I also wont be buying Fifa for that matter. All i want is the pes 6 gameplay with new modes and graphics and they're giving us this shit where anyone under a overall of 90 is shit, cant turn, run or do anything. Im so dissapointed. I can picture the ideal pes but the robotic annimations are killing it. They never used to move so horribly in the ps2 version so why theu fuk are they doing it now!!! Omg im so angry! How hard is it! You have next gen technology and still every player looks like they're about to take a shit on the pitch and Alonso runs like he the hunchback of notredam ffs! Its pissing me off.

On the flip side i cant wait to play OPF 2 with my mate. The game is gonna be so good its not even funny.

For me, neither pes nor fifa demo have proper 360 movements.

Cantona. I agree. I will get both games and will play the best simulation.

Remember everyone. PES 10 DEMO IS AN OLD BUILD and some flaws like responsivness (which causes passing problems) are supposed to be fixed, thus making the overall feel of the game better. Please keep that in mind.
Same for fifa. Some issues may be fixed.
But for pes, the review code which is around 90% plays better than our old demo.
In my opinion, konami didn't do well to release an old build as a demo.

mate dont worry yet, the demo is only the 60% build... remember perfectstik played the 95% build and that was mind blowing and lightyears ahead...!!!

lol, yes i know PES09 demo-game was pretty much the same, but this is all part of Konami's big plan to make you buy the game when it comes out...!!

Im not impressed with that Adam bloke. He banned me yesterday after a harmless comment got pounced upon. I said he needed to grow up and therefore got banned.

hes like a big kid.

But anyway i agree with the post about the pes diehards and sites like Adams. If they had criticised teh game like they should have we may have a better game. If your core diehard fanbase accepts what you do you will not change it will you? It stands to reason.

So the blame is squarely at their feet.

oh and Hi! :)

byonthought But pes 09 and pes 10 are different and the build from pes 10 demo truly is old.
Now I am not saying it'll be better or worse. It's the way things are.
