mate dont worry yet, the demo is only the 60% build... remember perfectstik played the 95% build and that was mind blowing and lightyears ahead...!!!

lol, yes i know PES09 demo-game was pretty much the same, but this is all part of Konami's big plan to make you buy the game when it comes out...!!

If it is then thats good. However i cant see it. Why would Konami release such a poor demo? They surely would know that they are killing the last remaining trust in their customers.

And here we see a fine example of the affore mentioned 'blind fanboy'

There is no way PES 2010 will change that drastically from the demo by the time release date comes around.

And as for Konami's big plan to make people buy the game when it comes out...if this is it then it's a real shame. Sadly they couldn't do what they used to in order to persuade people to buy it, i.e. make a good game.

Lads, I'm pretty sure byondthought is being sarcastic.

I'm downloading the demo at the moment, but I'm anxious. Hopefully, you guys have criticised enough for me to think it's the greatest thing I've ever experienced. Don't think so.

FIFA10 hasn't been all that either, to be honest. I'm bored already. Great gameplay, but I think I need to play against another human.

The guy is being sarcastic, dont you see it. Konami failed again to deliver. No next-gen footie will ever come out of that studio...

Hey ads...

If you think WENB is bad, you should try PESFan. A mate was telling me last night (who used to be a frequent member there for years) that there was one guy in particular who kept having his posts deleted when he talked bad about the demo and put up Youtube videos of some of the bad points.

Ugh, at least we allow people to have their say and put forward their honest opinions. Sure, they don't go down well with everyone, but then there'd never be topics for discussion if everyone agreed on everything. From hearing about the above, it seems like PESFan (or somebody from PESFan, anyway) wants everyone to be pro-PES this year.

I would've used the reply/quote option, but for some weird reason, it isn't letting me post anything that way. :/

May I firstly offer my apologies for overlooking said sarcasm but at the same time say that, in my defence, there have been a lot of deluded posts about how the demo is an old build and will be vastly improved before it's final release.

Ive always been in favour of Pes looks with the nice big players on Broadcast camera and there general capture of a stadium, right back to Iss.

These are the problems i found in the demo.

1. Shooting seems too easy now. I scored 5 30 yarders yesterday. All five of them straight down the middle and over a goalie who didnt even stick his arms up.

2. Keepers. They go from sublime to attrocious. They hardly stretch for for high shots, theres no flexibility at all. In fact lots of the animations are from Pes 08.

3. A.i. One minute they dont go for the ball, next minute they pass you off the park. Theres no balance.

4. Player individuality. this is something the Pes fanboy crowd crows about thats missing from Fifa and to an extent i agree. however Torres is still too slow on this build and Gerrard feels like a nobody. So its not strictly 100% true. they had individuality nailed on Ps2.

5. Animation. Still stiff and clunky although less so than last year. Players running still look odd and its not fluid enough. That Adam bloke yesterday claimed that Pes 5 is still the pinnacle of football gaming. It clearly is not. And only utter uber diehards could go back and play on that over these next gen Fifas.

6. 360 degree movement. I dont see it. Its supposed to be there but i dont see it. Certainly if it is there its not fluid and seamless and animations dont blend realistically.

7. Freedom. The cpu still controls what you do to an extent. If i want to pass it the computer assists to a high percentage. On Fifa i can completely switch this off and everything i do is mine alone, even more so this year especially shooting. This is one of the reasons i reckon the die hard pes fans just dont like Fifa - they cant use manual very well or dont want to learn how to. Its a very rewarding experience learning how to play the game but you cant do it in 5 minutes. It also gives the feel of real football as you tend to go through phases of on and off days, days were you bag hatfuls, and days were you cant hit a barn door. Thats football.

8. Skills. I dont want to have to be an octopus to use the controls. They are not intuitive enough. Using d-pad is such a dated experience and yet konami expect me to use it for skills, meanwhile im using the right thumbstick naturally and playing the ball all over the place and losing possesion.

Bottom line is theres only one set of people to blame for Pes's fall from grace. People like Adam from WENB - whose sole purpose is to play the doting dog with his master, and all his little die hard followers who cannot face up to facts. They have killed this game along with Seabass's lack of vision. Any criticism has been met with a head in sand approach. I find it truly amazing, as a footy game fanatic of many years, that people cannot see that these next gen Fifas are the best footy gaming experience since SWOS and Kick Off hit the shelves back in the late 80's early nineties.

If people had given konami a hard line and reaction two years ago they might have saved the franchise and elevated back to the status it had and deserved for many years.

its a bloody shame.

C'mon, did you really expect anything less?

I mean, I'm not doubting there'll be some improvements for the full game (just like from the FIFA demo) but for ages we've been hearing "Wait for the demo. Just WAIT FOR THE DEMO...You'll be amazed!" ...and now, as I predicted, the "old build" chestnut is being used. It's an ongoing cycle that's been happening for two years already.

hehe apologies not needed... i agree, too many retards post crap like that, unless you knew me it was an easy mistake to make....

It seems the people who played PES last year will be happy still play PES this year. Those who have converted to FIFA will play FIFA. I find people defending either of them rather amusing as neither demo was impressive and anyone who honestly believes FIFA is as good as PES of old is a brainwashed mentalist.

I'm still looking forward to both games and I expect both will be better than the demo builds, but it's a sad to think that for the second year running we might not have a good football game to play. And I'm including FM in that too, as last years effort was disappointing for me. To find the last great console football game you'd have to go way back to PES6 on the PS2. How lame.

The game was obviously a improvement from pes 2009 even if was only a 65% build. I've been reading through the comments, and some people are saying that lightstick has played the 95% build. Are there are any reviews of that build because I can't see it being drastically different from the demo.

As much as I completely agree with you, I just find one problem when you switch to full manual: You'll entirely loose whatever playerindivdualism there would be in that given player... If you have full manual control of the pass controling Iniesta, then you won't get any help from his incredible good passing skills, since it's on manual. Therefor playing on "Semi" might actually be better, since then you'll get at least some assistance from the players stats.

But honestly - both PES and FIFA this year are below par compared to peoples expectations. It looks like there's no inovative game of footy out there this year - but only version 09.2 builds...

Mate, just wondered if you have a link to somewhere where it states, that the responsiveness has been improved from the demo-build? ;o)

I downloaded both demo's and im not happpy to play pes, my god what a let down!

1)the keepers which wer promised are still crap, i tapped a shot from the edge of the box and i took a defelection was rolling in and the keeper didnt dive he just ran after it.
2)the hexagons being gone is a huge mistake i dont want poxy numbers(great toni is 83 so is chiellini, can i play him up front aswell now).
3)the gameplay is still fully based around pace, i can pick te ball up wit henry and run the pitch, then i can do it a few minutes later, players never get tired, whereas players like toni are useless and cant move..

4)i cant see 360 movement, i played a match only controlling messi just doing some movemnets, i turned 45 degrees and went 90, theres stiill only about 8-12 ways to move at times...

5)its near impossible to raise the ball off the ground for a shot(ill let that one slide cause im sure theres a knack to it).

6)players postions are annoying, this aint huge but why cant messi play as a rwf, his number drops to 53... why he can clearly play there in real life...

7)the camera angle for penos is shit, simple as, i wanna see from behind the player..

8) last one, which i assume will be fixed, why is glen johnson errily white lookin....

I think people are just being picky little snobs! to say I have blasted the demo last night and loved every minute of the demo! defo feels different with the 360 controls, so dunno why people can't feel it! have you played PES before?

I haven't had any problems with goalkeepers, infact found them pulling off amazing saves!

The game feels slower, but that is only a good thing! well for me I prefer a realistic footie game! not up the field in 1 pass in 2 seconds flat!

Not had a pen yet, but been informed it is dodgy!

The players look really good! alot of the pixel ripping has gone and runs much better!

...and before anyone says anything! I like FIFA 10! think it is a good game and wouldn't mind getting both! but I think PES 2010 is a improvement for the better! dunno what some people are expecting!!

The penalties are VERY dodgy. You don't get a view from behind the player, you get a side-on view. Needless to say my penalty went both high and wide when if anything it should have just been weak. Forgot about that until reading your post.

Agreed with you. But these are demos. So let's wait for the full versions. ;)

HE WAS THE ONE THAT COMPLAINED ABOUT RESPONSIVNESS AFTER GAMESCOM btw.

In my opinion, both fifa and pes demos are good games but not outstanding.

I don’t have the time or energy to sit here and explain why I am so unimpressed with the demo. I will just let the intro videos of previous titles do the talkin for me… This is the level of player fluidity I think we should be expecting. Afteral, It was the clowns that keep shelling us out this current garbage who designed it.

It was choppy, lagging , truly awful gameplay aswell.

All in all after 5 matches I think ill save my money and stick to pes 2009
