PES 2010 : Gamespeed

I'm currently enjoying PES 2010, and will do even more when the PESFan option file is released for the Xbox 360 anytime now.

Sweey, the speed seems fast for me, but not to the point of saying it's the fastest yet, definitely not. The only thing I can presume is that it's possibly the version you have, or screen size/spec. The screen size and spec has a lot to do with the pace of the game, me and a friend were amazed after playing PES on different TVs a couple of years back at the amount of difference in speed. That's a possible reason behind it. Personally, I'd prefer to see it a touch slower, but sometimes in my matches the pace and tempo slows down for a bit anyway and varies during the match.

This all obviously being on the Xbox 360 game I've bought.

Actually, this is the first PES I've had on the PS3, so maybe that's why it seems faster? The past three current gen games I've had have all been on the Xbox 360 and the pace seemed fine. Standard Konami speed, but not as fast as it feels now. I also played the demo on the 360.

Shaun, I uninstalled the game yesterday and will not waste any more time on it. There are plenty of other faults in the game aside from the speed issue and as I've already clearly posted in this thread, I've had enough of Konami.

HA! You AND I are both done with konami for exactly the opposite reasons.

Actually, my issue isnt with the speed, its with the (lack of) dribbling. You can take robinho and he'll still get the ball taken away from him very easily. Quite simply, you cant turn near a defender. Oh, I wonder how the real players do it then, without turning!

I'm not interested in playing boring ass games (with pes 5 animations) that end up 1-0 where you have to pass till your pass button wears out. And btw, the scripting is still there.

So thanks konami. I'm going to give away my PES copy to my neighbor and buy FIFA. Not only will you lose a potential purchase, EA will also gain one.

Maybe the discussion on the game being faster, might be interpreted differently.

Hunter was bang on i played PES10 on a 14 inch and it seemed slow then on my 28" it was so fast which is a little annoying is there just the top player setting i thought they added superstar?

The demo is faster..i think the speed is good imo..it's the ball handling..the 400ms pause before a shot or cross and the 70 minute subs that irritates the hell out of me..due to the 70 mins sub..you hardly ever get to receive your medal and celebrate with your team..instead a second goalie..who didnt do nothing and sat around the season on his fat ass will enjoy the championships..FFS Seabass...get your shit straight

Now by contrast, I'm not having any issues with slow reactions which were an issue in the demo.

Something is seriously wrong but then that's Konami all over and this year I've had enough.

Show the damn footage man, that's what you should have done instead of saying "it's faster, you want to see?"

Who the hell are you exactly? Read this whole thread and you'll see it is littered with people have all manner of different experiences which is the fault of Konami and nobody else. I don't owe you my time in order to reinstall a game and record footage just to prove a point I already know is the truth. I couldn't give two shits if you believe me or not, I'm not touching the game again and have given my reasons why. Get over it.

I think its true and is a good thing. I dont see how the game is too fast. I think it can be fast but to a point where its entertaining and fun and yes on some occasions its just a end to end shitfest with Messi and Ronaldo giving me the finger for 90 mins but most of the time games seem tactical. I have to pass the ball about trying to create passing moves. I use Valencia online and my passing game is getting good. I think the pace is fine. If anything i think its too slow with the turning and movment.

I've been hearing lots of crap about how the PC game is too slow or too fast. Dont know what to tell you.

But most ppl that have played PES2010 on PS3 are saying the pace is good and not too fast.

I honestly can't see how you can be a fan of this game if you liked pes on the ps2. This forum seems to be full of idiots who have been playing pes for a couple years and have forgot what made the game so successful all those years ago. How can anyone say anything positive about this game when it is still nothing compared to last gen pes. I know this post sounds petty but this is the first post i have made on hear for months and it's still full of the same shit spouting idiots. I would put money on it that even the people who are praising the game no it isn't good enough but are to scared to admit it to themselves for some reason. Get real and admit that pes as we used to know it is no more. This doesn't concern me as fifa 10 is marvelous and arguably the greatest football sim of all time. This may sound strange but fifa 10 feels more like pes than pes does. The poor game pace of pro is another reason why the game does not feel like a sim and is not worthy of being played by a true pes fan, ie me. The only way i will return to the series is if it topples fifa 10 next year but we all know that is not going to happen.

Shaun is actually an honest guy. He doesnt make judgment until he plays the final game.

He also admitted that FIFA09 was better than PES2009.

fair enough i didn't do myself any with my post, admittedly it wasn't my finest moment but its get very frustrating on these forums at at times. I am honestly not biased and just want to play the better football game. I was an obsessed fan with regards to last gen pes which is the reason why I cant understand how people would be happy with pes 10. I dont want to get into the fifa debate but i don't understand why people would want to play the poorer game. Fifa is not a flawless game but as was the case with pes last gen the core gameplay is superb and no one can argue with that. Shaun, play fifa 10 all manual for two weeks and you will see why i get so passionate.

im geussing that the PC version is faster than console versions.... iv played the demo on the xbox and i can tell you without even thinking about it that The 2010 version is slower than 2009 by a country mile

im assuming that your graphics card on your PC is top notch, therfore a faster game.

I will play both fifa and pes and then pass my judgment.
Also why is all the fuss on manual in fifa?
There will be no individuality (without it everyone becomes the same and the enjoyment of variation will go away). But anyway everyone is entitled to his opinion.
But still from what I have seen, both fifa and pes 10 are not bug free but both have different interpretations of football.
Fifa focuses on freedom in pass other general freedom, while pes focuses on individuality moslty. You see, both are good interpretions of football. You cannot deny that pes 10 has awesome individuality
and great shooting from distance.

See my question is this: why have Konami allowed hardware and screen sizes affect the speed of the game to such a degree in that case?? Other games don't suffer these issues. None of the previous PES games have been this bad for me; I can appreciate the difference in speed between games in the series as was intended but 2010 is ridiculous.
