They should fix:

1. SPEED
2. DRIBBLING
3. GOAL KEEPING
4. MARKING
5. OFFSIDE STRATEGY
6. CURSOR
7. STAMINA
8. TACKLING AND SHOOTING

.. SEABASS DIE

I agree with Micho and with all the points he listed ...that is basically all aspect of the game. The only part that missing is the AI which also needs fixing. So in summary PES 2012 was not a good release for many.

I also agree that Seabass has overstayed his welcome at Konami. It is obvious to many that he has no clue how to rejuvenate the PES series back to where it once was.......the best footie game in the world.

There are more negative threads this year and these seem to attract more attention ...which evidently shows the disgust most of us feel with this new release/direction of PES.

Peace.

1) The speed thing is something that has to be balanced more I agree, the problem is that in trying to show individuality KONAMI have gone over the top on the players that have high agility, responsiveness etc. This again is a very delicate thing to balance, to show the gulf between someone like Bale for example who is lightening quick, has brilliant reflexes and can dribble at speed and someone like Carragher for example there has to be a visual and user feel that the players are totally different, and to do this you need to have the stats relatively wide apart. The trouble is trying to fit this into the context of game speed. Online is a joke ad you are more or less made to play in certainway, on top of the Real/Barce players all having mesmeric player stats the game speed anyway is still too fast, so marry these into each other and what you have, online at least, is some kind of lightening speedball game.

KONAMI really need to spend more time in evaluating players stats, and for the loss of a little individuality need to tone down some of the top players stats.

Dribbling - agree it's too easy to generally run about and dribble, the lack of any concentration with regards to control and first touch isn't great, but I feel the dribbling system in taking people on with the use of speed bursts and momentum is sound.

Goal keeping - not sure offline Jenkey's the keepers are excellent

Marking - no problems here

Offside strategy - err, never use it, I like to play relatively deep

Cursor - no problems

Stamina - agreed, especially online. Anyone sprint whoring should see huge decreases in performance very quickly. There is little or no incentive to use strategy online and wear the opposition down because conversely the more they run about and sprint whore and the more you pass the ball the more YOUR players get fked...what's that all about.

Offline - There should be a little more attention to detail to the CPU stamina drain, but generally I find the pressure from the CPU offline relatively fair. For example when I play against Chelsea I know they will pressure high up the pitch and use their three strikers to put my defenders/goaly under pressure, but the trade off is their high line can see me play an aerial game and go long against them. I also find pressure in the right context good, I find the game better when I am having to react to the opposition pressure rather than them parking the bus.

Tackling and shooting - Perfect. The defensive system this year is second to none with the jockeying/tackling/positioning being an at form - if Seabass makes this easier next year for the noobs who can't play the game, then I'l cry. Shooting, I find it perfect. Just see my goal variety and the CPU. (This is a modded 1.02 mind, with Jenkey's).

- Seabass....live..for the moment. Jury is still out, For me it's quite simple what KONAMI needs to do and that is get all these modders and patch makers on the forums, get them on the payroll and thrash out the game for PES 2013. Get people like Chimps to work exclusively on the stats, get Jenkey's input into the gameplay mechanics, and get al the other brilliant mods specialising in their fields, like graphics, stadiums, online, etc etc.

BUT...they won't do that, it's just too simple, so they'll probably give us a half baked game instead and play test the thing for five minutes which they normally do.

I still say PES on the PC highly modded is the best football experience I've ever had, but can understand people's frustrations that the out of the box game isn't up to the mark.

Tackling needs to be fixed and the system is outdated. I don't know about Jenkey's but patch 1.02 makes zonal marking stupid. Time and time again my defenders leave holes in the defense or running away from the ball. The positioning of defenders is poor if you tell them to mark someone and I agree it is unrealistic to mark someone in a match 24/7 but when the other team attack, I do expect them to atleast stay behind the defender, not above him with a another srupid defender playing him onside.

Offside trap is poor as there is always that one stupid defender playing a guy offside everytime- it was poorly implemented. If you saw that Tottenham match yesterday againt PAOK, Tottenham had a free kick and just before Modric hit the ball, all the PAOK players ran forward leaving to 5 players offside. This would never happen in PES because 2 defenders would just go back leaving to a messy defending.

There is little individuality in terms of things like teamwork and mentality as during the match against the scripted AI, whenever there is a ball in the air, the player wouldn't be bothered to get it- ven if it was a player with a great mentality like Puyol, he would not give more effort than say Balotelli in the game when trying to chase for loose balls etc. Teamwork is also retarded as even if every player in your team had 99 teamwork, players will still get in the way of each other making you lose the ball or 2 players will attempt to clear the ball so they fall on each other. There is no interaction between players regardless of teamwork.

Also the AI players never tire whilst your players will as they can keep on running for 90 mins even if you play keep ball so that is stupid.
Shooting is perfect though apart from the gay power bar

I have played at a level comparable to Football League One in England by the way (Norwegian league, not much to brag about to be honest)

I dont believe you.

No pro footballer is as eloquent as you are.

If you had said things like "I gave 110%" or "I just take each game as it comes" I might have believed you.

:D

I applaud your honesty in admitting that some basic areas need fixing.

However, not everyone has the ability to apply the Jenky patch since we are on consoles instead of a PC. Here is where most of us have a problem.

I hate to sound pessimistic but I am convinced that Seabass has run out of ideas for PES. Either they move the title to another developer who can scrap the ancient engine that's been running PES since the PS2 console to something updated that suits the next gen consoles.

Microsoft Xbox has already announced that they are planning on upgrading their systems to the long awaited Xbox 720 by 2013...and although the PS3 is still a powerful unit, Sony has recently announced that they will not be left behind in the dust as they previously where...hence the PS4 is also around the corner.

http://www.afterdawn.com/news/artic...ps4_to_launch_much_later_than_xbox_next_wii_u

The innovation that EA continues to show isn't perfect with clear problems this year with the "Impact Engine" and some with TD but....they continue to push for ahead for a break through. I for one like that....and so do the developers.

If Konami continues in the same suit ...they will definitely be out of the race if a new developer hops onto the footie seen. (2K Sports)

The one big thing that immediately struck me with the PS3 version this year, is the graphics. I mean look at PES 2010 for example, my memory may be a little hazy, but off the top of my head I would say that 2010 had ten times better graphics than 2012. What is it with that blurry shit going on, and the shitty night pitches for example.

To be honest, the graphics in PES 2010 were 2d and look like cardboard cutouts and this year made it look like 3d models eventhough they still looked like cut-outs

...and to believe that the ps3 is supposed to have superior graphics make me understand that Konami is not pushing this title to the its full potential.

They need a full revamp of this title to bring back some life to the series. I would personally start by replacing the word 'soccer' with 'football. Maybe then they would thrive for the most authenticity they could accomplish with the series.

I still can't see how they allowed EA to lock out the license for team uniforms and players names for so long. If the roles were reversed, I am sure EA would find a way to get them back.

My impression of Konami/Seabass is just that they lazy ass bastards scared of taking risks, who only cares about making a small profit with little effort. They may be making the same profit margin as EA but doing way less to achieve this.

Eg. EA spends 300 bucks to produce the game and earns 30 bucks in profit ...a 10% net profit....(after expenses)

while Konami spends 100 bucks to produce PES and earns 10 bucks in profit. This still and 10% net profit but with less capital expenditure.

Its all about business I always say....look at how BF3 is moving millions of units this year with the addition of the new 'frostbite' tech in its game. You have to take risks ....something Seabass hasn't done in a very looooong time.

peace

Trouble moving?

i'm having trouble with basic movement, I can't seem to sprint diagnolly and it's really hard because I always get in scoring positions but i ALSO can't shoot when i'm going in a diagnol direction, and i never score...i also can't have my defenders run after an offensive player diagnolly either...is this because i use the keyboard? i've played with the keyboard my whole life...and in the previous versions of pes movement was fine. what's going on?
