PES fans, the wait is nearly over....

According to PES team leader, Jon Murphy, PES 2012 will be announced in a few days - which suggests to us that an announcement will be made by the end of this week.

Spread the word and watch this space!

Fantastic news!

Well, let's see what they have to tell us about the PES 2012.

Probably we will have some highres screenshots, sentences with a lot of words like "revolutionary" and "completely new" <add something here)>. Konami will also stress that PES is the only one to have the license for CL and Libertadores Cup, etc. And, of course, "engineered for freedom".

I won't hold my breath... :(

PL license by some amazing fluke. Which will subsequently turn out to be the Azerbaijan Premier League and the teams are only useable in their own mode...

I don't care about licenses. WE HAVE EDIT MORE. I want more teams not necessarily licensed because edit more will take car of that.

And as I said, pes needs to feel ps3 quality. It has the core basics of football RIGHT but the execution was slightly poor in pes 11 because of all the stiffness and robotic feel of the players.

I'm remaining confident PES2012 will be a decent improvement on PES2011, the building blocks of a decent game are already there after all.

It is happening again

Agreed. But let's not get our hopes up too much :)

"One of the key features for PES2012 that is highly anticipated is the ability for Goalkeepers to move their arms and hands two inches to stop a shot. This has been a long requested feature and after years of working, we've finally managed to implement it"

But seriously, don't get me started on the goalkeepers in the game...

^You know something? The keepers in pes 11 aren't all that bad. Yes they are a bit bad sometimes but THE ANIMATION MAKES THEM APPEAR LIKE THEY ARE REALLY REALLY BAD.
I'm not saying they're not bad, because they are, but the animation makes them 5 times as bad. I hope this improves.

for all those who thought pes 2011 was great well in this video he mentions all the things that i thought were missing in the game that's why i think it sucked.
you couldn't play the game like real football because the options just were not there.

if 2012 fixes all these things he mentions i'll be willing to pay twice the price because it will be fantastic and i haven't played a fantastic football game recently.

Seabass uses the term "new version", which suggests to me that we'll be getting PES 2011.5 next October - although I believe it's not necessarily a bad thing. For me, PES 2011 was a highly entertaining game that still to this day, provides me with hours of entertainment. I believe Konami are slowly reaching their goal, and PES 2012 will be a stepping stone on the pathway to eternal glory.

Which is exactly my point.

They would do a save animation and be stuck in it. Therefore if they are just a little bit off they will miss the ball. It's like trying to hit a flying soccer ball with another flying soccer ball (since the animation is static)

You just have to hope your goal keeper flies into the balls path.

I've seen hockey games be able to do this correctly. The goalies will go into a save animation, but I guess their glove arm is still free and can adjust to the puck. Therefore if it was within reach and he has the reflexes, he can catch it. With Pes, if the ball is 2 inches beside the keeper who is in an animation, the goalkeeper cannot adjust his hands to catch the ball
