PES 2012 To Be Announced This Week?

LOL-ness

I think I will at least wait for a playable demo to come out before forming an opinion on PES 2012. After all, you can't really judge a game from a video, presumably at an unfinished pre-alpha stage. However, some parts of it (especially the defender reactions to through balls) still looks like PES 2011, and that's a bit worrying.

Considering that PES (and almost all other annual sporting game) is built upon the previous edition, I wouldn't consider it a stretch to form an opinion on PES12 based on PES11.

It's been done for years really

Havnt posted on here for ages.

First off Pes 2012 looks brilliant. No longer do the players resemble robots which is a weight off my shoulders. It is clear to me now that Pes 2011 has laid the base for future versions to build on. As im sure your all aware of Pes 6 was developed over several games starting at Pes 1 officially and the same will be said about 2011 in future years. With a firm footing now in place the details we've been waiting for can be implemented.

2011's predecessors were jumping from one to another like a african jumping rhino. 08 was a poor adaptation of 06, 09 was a random jump to nothing, 2010 was another failed attempt at laying a bedrock but finally 2011 has succeeded where others have failed. Imo though i didnt like 2011 much. It was robotic imo and the AI really pissed me off as they were no use atall in the final third and KONAMI for some reason dumbed the game down from the demo whereby the passing was more automated than the demo (!).

But now it is clear how they have "tweaked" (pes ps2 hayday phrase!) and added the finer things to the game to give it depth. I feel as though we have Pes back. All the details add up to something big but not only that the AI and animation linkage motions mean that we have a fluid, free-flowing, counter attack based game that has been MIA since Pes 6.

No doubt Pes will succeed with 2012 to critical acclaim and Fifa no doubt will copy the hell out of it with 2013 but now the initiative is with Pes and we will finally get some great games that will only be developed and added to for years to come.

I have come to love PES 2011 on a par with PES 5 after a few years of next gen fifa and the disappointment of pes 08,09 and 10. I can't fucking wait for pes 2011 for the simple reason they have put so much focus on gameplay. If we have a fully working manual player switch as well as improvement in other areas I will be happy and can't see myself touching fifa 12.

The fundamentals are already there, its whether KONAMI execute their vision and don't dumb the game down.

For me PES 2011(despite some hideous flaws) was the most realistic sim ever made, if konami polish up some simple flaws PES 2012 will be an even more wonderful experience, although I expect the criminally overrated fifa series to continue to get its arse licked by the mainstream yet again, I just hope PES 2012 is given time and not judged after a few days.

I'm tempted to not consume much video footage of the game this year until purchase. I have only ever bought two game before that were as good to play as they were to watch on video; Bad Company 1 (2 was shit) and Operation Flashpoint

Back in the day when I was 12-16 I would read reviews and previews of pes 3 or pes 4 for example and it let my imagination run wild. Spending month after month, day after day watching analitical video of a game only succeeds in dampening the excitement of that first play test. I may watch a video here or there but I don't want to spoil that first taster of the game.

I think PES2012 is most likely a game I will borrow off someone as opposed to purchase this time round. If its genuinely the dogs bollocks then I will purchase ... but then I'm setting high standards.

I hope they find a solution for this lag on online matches and have some new features like Fifa ... such as world cup online .. and faster online gaming .. (online trading between players) <<<< this one is my idea

I really like the passing in PES2011, very well done! If they could build on this, and take out some of the annoying aspects of this years game like the defenders magically getting faster to catch up to certain attackers and the curser/player changing issues that still persist and the floating balls that occur at times then I think 2012 could be a good year! I hope the nets are changed as well to more realistic looking square forms.

PES 2012

make players feel ligher and move faster, with better movement and freedom (like fifa, dare i say :/), and employ 360 movement EVEN WHEN YOUR ON THE BALL because it only seems to work when your of the ball, very crafty Konami, but cmon lets make it a lighter, free'er game to play with better movement.
Also, change penalties back PLEASE! That puts me off PES 11 so much.

and licenses ? why, oh why dont they get them? surely it cant be that hard, fifa can, and yet PES can get some, and a few premier league teams. Seems to me if they can get some, they can get them all if they really wanted to ,i wouldnt be bothered ormally, but having an xbox the option files are limited, so i would much prefer a licenced premier league.

Rant over

I actually adore the penalty system this year. They did a horrible job of not providing information on how to do them (not even a tutorial) but once you figure it out, it's very intuitive.

Moves well imo. Smooth, quick and has the classic 'the second you press the button it reacts' which the ps2 era was famous for
