There's no game more playable than the other. Fifa at first is more playable, but the more you play it, the more it disgusts you. So both are unplayable. I haven't touched a football game since Dec 2011. That's how bad the football gaming industry is. It's shameful.

Surprising since KONAMI hardly spend time on marketing and glossing. I'd expect much more sales though if they spent time branding their product

Now let's be honest, even with the greatest marketing of all time, it's not like you are marketing a music album where you can only use the two hit songs to promote the whole album, with PES13 you will get a demo, and no matter how great the marketing is, people will not buy the game if they do not enjoy the demo.

Amen.

Enjoyment is key, and for some reason many consider it as more important to realistic gameplay such as PES. FIFA is more enjoyable than PES but is less realistic in terms or raw gameplay. PES is way too boring as I started going into master league and suddenly I find myself playing FIFA street. As Shaun said, no game is good enough this year and not worth getting. I'll be sticking to FIFA street for the coming months hoping for a decent game from both titles. At this moment in time though, PES 2013 is more promising than FIFA 13 as FIFA's improvements are minimal compared to PES

I disagree, I fail to see why PES is realistic, it's not, not even remotely close.

You find yourself playing FIFA street, because with FIFA street, you actually have control over the game.

PES brings more realism than FIFA in a few departments such as AI which is key for a successful footie game. But there is no freedom at all in passing and shooting which is why like you said I play FIFA street. Lets hope they can bring out a game which has both factors of fun and realism

I agree Amateur....PES is an arcade looking game. There is no realism in PES whatsoever.

I cannot see how one can say that the passing, shooting, animations, refs, keepers, collision...etc is bad in PES but the AI is good.

How is that possible?

Aren't all of those attributes of the AI?

Passing, shooting and animations have nothing to do with how good the AI actually is. For example Fifa has fluid animations that feel real but the AI is abysmal. Pes' AI as bad as it is destroys Fifa's AI. But Fifa completely eats pes in terms of polishing and animations. Pes feels very unfinished even though the core of the game is not as bad as fifa. But since it lacks polish, the game feels unfinished to a point where it's actually considered a bad game.

Now let's all hope that 2013 will at least be a better year for both football games.

Where is the AI

I think one of the main problem with PES is the lack of realism. As i stated before there is no Artificial Intelligence in the game because the game is arcadish. For instance in the video below, none of the players on either team can take with ball and walk slowly or even jog with the ball. As soon as a player gets the ball everyone legs goes into what i call the "windmill" mode. Every player starts darting like crazy in whatever direction ....how comes none of the players can slowly dribble a ball?

This results in a very fast quick, ping pong, headless chicken looking game. Since none of the players have the ability to slow the ball game down, it boils down to the user with the quicker fingers. Pass pass, tackle tackle, run run, shoot shoot.....up down ...can they even get tired?

Where is the AI when every one is just blazing up and down the field...
tirelessly. Why cant they just jog...why do their legs move so quickly ..super fast even when they have just collected the ball from a dead postion? This also results in horrible unrealistic collisions with the ball spilling in some ridiculous ways.

Zero to 60mph in 1sec...makes the game unrealistic and throws AI out the window. And is just me or does the game time ticker move twice as fast in PES than in Fifa?

Game engine and animations must be their number one priority...but knowing the fish ...this years game is already done.
