Then why does FIFA outsell KONAMI? Simple, is because of their reviews, adverts on TV, marketing style and the margins etc. Its not only because of the gameplay - many peoples minds are eluded to what other people hear instead of inspecting the game itself. KONAMI could outsell FIFA with decent gameplay with no bugs and with their advertising easily, they just fail with things such as licenses etc. Gameplay is the hugest thing in selling but a game with bugs and crappy advertising would sell less than a game with bugs and decent advertising. So aslong as they fix the bugs, they are gonna sell a lot more this year and by marketing it makes the whole thing look more professional than Amateur if you get what I'm saying

even a perfect PES could never outsell FIFA. sells come from marketing, licenses etc. EA puts much more in promoting and licensing than PES. A huge amount of players even don't care for the perfect gameplay they want their team, thier stadion, their fans singing and even with a super duper OF or patch PES can't deliver it

Have I missed something, because to me all I watched was 50 seconds of Cristiano Ronaldo walking down some stairs at a stadium. Lets hope the advert on the 24th is worth watching.
But it reveals a new dimension to KONAMI. We should have all known that this trailer was just an announcement to advertise the trailer on the 24th so I can't see why it falls short on some people's expectations. The Sound Effects sound really cool in contrast with the video and it could hint that they have sorted the music out. I mean if you saw the one last year, the music was plain awful (the one with Messi running around). If you compare it to other teaser trailers for games such as COD, this one is one of the better ones. Its merely just a 1min teaser but it shows they have finally sorted out their marketing as it looks mor professional etc.

Well...... Ronaldo walking down a few flights of steps with a cheap hold all. Hope there's plenty more to come!
Hope this trailer on the 24th shows up plenty of "real stuff", And not ronaldo dribbling round 3 players and hitting the net animations. Hope it don't leave plenty of frustrated people!

It'll leave me frustrated if they don't show the improvement in Keepers. I'm not expecting any major improvements in graphics and animations anyway

I was hoping for a big graphical improvement. Not sure if there will be though. Shooting will probably get tweaked (HOPEFULLY). Not sure about the rest. You guys prob could guess better than me

According to Adam - the 'PES Messiah', shooting will be improved and passing will be completely re-worked so theres no need to worry about that area. However, the fact that animations and graphics won't be imrpved vastly is bugging me as we've given them 4 to 5 years to improve them

Exactly my point. I don't know what the fuss is about this video. Here is hoping the trailer come 24 th is worth something.

No. No it doesn't. It's 50 seconds of attempted gloss and I didn't have any expectations, I watched the video and couldn't fathom why anyone would be remotely buzzing about it. I'll wait for the general advert and make as fair as assessment on what is provided then.

Nicely steam ironed pants could hint at my buttocks and crown jewels being either gently warmed or scolded upon there adornment.

Whats my point? There isn't one. Just like there isn't any point making assumptions regarding musical direction from that teaser trailer.

Remember, never judge a book by its cover.

Also, and I'm sure OnlyProEvo can correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this the earliest Konami have decided to go public with trailers? I seem to recall the usual marketing machine being cranked around June/July. It maketh me wonder whether the disappointment of PES2012 has bitten hard.

It may be 50 seconds of attempted Gloss but it shows KONAMI actually spent their time of filming CR7 in a stadium walking down just to announce a trailer. Normally, you'd expect CR7 running around a training pitch then it saying '24th March' but KONAMI have put a lot of effort for something so small. I guess your right though, there is no point of hyping it up as the game can still be rubbish.
The trailer is very early than usual Sminky mainly because they wanted to hear some feedback so they can further improve on what they're doing. I remember Seabass saying PES 2013 news/ vids will arrive earlier probably just for the marketing hype.

We'll wait till Tuesday as theres no point of cranking on about the teaser as we don't even know what PES 2013's main focus is

Nice trailer, but the features are more interesting than that.

THE THING THAT REALLY INTERESTS ME is that even though it may be a marketing strategy, at least they are focusing on our concerns like shooting directions, GK's and defending not being on par with attacking (to a point).

I don't think Konami will make pes totally free especially in the shooting department because pes focuses on individuality, but I can see pes 2013 having a semi auto kind of system where you still have to aim your shots and the game will never shoot the other way round. If that would be the case, I would still be extremely happy because I want the direction and control of the shot to be mine but at the same time, I don't want a system that destroys the player's individuality in shooting.

It sounds great TBH, but I will reserve for later because it's way too early, but it's nice to hear good news about GK's, shooting, even more responsive passing and defending on par with attacking. :) So far, so good.

WOW! Ronaldo has a individualistic run animation WOW! :brickwall:

Konami have given a sweetener, it's almost like all the words in the release are perfect and to the point for a reason. "Exactly what they want to hear" sort of thing.

Let's face it, we all thought that this time last year, it seemed at the time everything was sorted/fixed, and at an acceptable standard for a next gen game. They sold us all the new "revolutionary" features with fancy names, yet it didn't really set the world alight, like they sold it, did it?

Then of course, we lost the ability of something that was in the very first PES! Something that PES was renowned for, something people would always play PES for! The connection with the ball, "the feel", the control.

Yes I'm talking about the ability to even f*cking shoot! :brickwall:

They can try and sell the product to me all they want, I'm not falling for the same trick thrice, same goes for FIFA! Both football games this year were very samey, suffered from the same sort of problems, and overall light years behind an "old-gen" football game made 6 years ago! PES6. :dribble:

This information release just stinks like FIFA, with these fancy words!

Konami should be going in there own direction and learning from there own and FIFA's mistakes!....Not going in exactly the same direction as the other junk!

I give up with computer games. Especially football ones. :realmad:

Konami have :troll:'d us again!

It is happening again
They've been banging on about improving the goalies for years, what makes you think they'll make good on that this time?
All I'm expecting is a minor improvement on PES 2012. It can't really get much worse IMO.

Need to fix the shooting for one, which is something that is mentioned, so I'm curious to see how they go with that. Too many shots going straight at the keeper, or in the completely opposite direction to what I aimed. Same with the passing, even on a emi automatic direction, it should go somewhere towards where you aim, which it often does it.
Power settings on passing/shots need to be improved too. You can tap triangle, and they'll whack a through ball half way down the pich, you can hold it and they'll tickle it along the ground. Too inconsistent.
I'm not trying to start a huge debate, I'm just detailing the points where I hope they'll improve for next time, going by the the press release.
Hope they fix the ML too. No more cutscenes, and more realistic fake player names, not like SQUAILERUKAIVIA.

Too early for a gameplay video i think, gotta wait a couple more months for that.

The trailer looked like a touched up ingame footage. You can see a few awkward animations in the video; plus they actually compared the real counterpart too. Another point is, comparing the PES 2012 trailer, the messi trailer was actually much better animated than the 2013 trailer; later only did we know that it was nothing compared to the real game.

For now, we only know the minimum of what exactly is coming out; the stuff that was said in the improvements. We have no idea what's going on with MLO and ML and what other 'minor' additions they have done with the gameplay.

For me i'm almost content with whatever additions and improvements. All I want to see is a dual stamina system.

PES 2013 will finally give the control back to the player with a much more credible AI.

The shooting problem has been address and listening to all the feedback, KONAMI have said manual shooting and passing will be in so you can aim your shots with power and height from your input. Last year, they actually admitted there will be no manual shooting and it will be floaty so this year, albeit all the times they've tricked me, I'm actually believing them.
