the thing i like about that last youtube review i posted a link to is he admits he is a FIFA fanboy but at the same time he is very grown up about the whole situation. he gives the rival game a chance and talks about it truthfully. i think some of the FIFA fanboy idiots on here that just dismiss PES as crap without even giving it chance should listen to him and take note

potential

The demo is ok!

It is important to highlight that those who were struggling with the crappy 2012 will find this demo as the holy grail. This is because they have fixed some of the issues like shooting.

For those like myself who has reviewed this game extensively and is not as biased....the demo offers very little so far to merit a purchase this year.

The good...
Game runs smoothly

The game is quite simple once you figure out the flaws.
On Superstar Level all you need to do is stay clear of the run button.
Walk your passes to the final quarter. Passes are pretty simple and have a deadly accuracy. Even if your attackers are marked ...they still receive passes easily. Use the R2 button to turn on defenders and shoot. It is that simple.

Superstar Level
Defender do not run back ...they jog and stare blankly at the ball. They do not tackle until the ball is kicked. So...do not try tackling the forwards. Instead, keep pulling the defenders back into a bundle form in front of the goal ...then only use the slide tackle to win the ball ...boot it out to your forward ..R2 turn, dribble with R2 pass shoot...simple

Sharp unrealistic turns and horrible collisions ...still exist. PES 2012.5

There are a lot of people here who have that same mentality.

But words like "Troll" and "Fifa Fanboy" will be used by and also only affect immature minds.

I like Pesgaming because of its offers freedom of speech ...even if its not favorable to PES.

Lower the pass assist. Watching some of the videos on youtube everyone's playing ping pong/hot potato football because they've got high settings for pass assist.

Positivity about PES is frowned upon round these parts

A nice little touch they've added is when you are playing as a certain Nation you can hear the native tongue being shouted out by the coach.

Maybe they will address it in the next demo.

It doesn't really feel like you are in total control of the game. There is support everywhere ...even when it appears that i have lost the ball ...suddenly i see one of my players darting in to assist ...:w00t

One thing that does annoy and has with all incarnations of PES and Fifa up till now is the fact that the settings for the powerbar and the accuracy of your pass/shoot aren't separate. You change a setting and both the assistance on the powerbar and accuracy are changed together.

I should be able to change the settings for each independently. For example, I only want to use a manual powerbar for everything which is what manual shooting and 0 pass support gives you, but I don't like the accuracy of 0 pass support. I find it too much effort to be bothered to be that accurate, although I'll live with it if I have too even if it shouldn't have to be necessarily that way. What I would like is 1 bar pass support for accuracy and 0 pass support for the powerbar for short pass and lob pass, for through ball I like the 0 pass support as it is now and manual shooting as it is.

My point is you should be able to decide how much pass/shot accuracy support you want and then how much pass/shot powerbar support you want completely separate from each other and also you should be able to do this for each type of pass(short, lob, through ball). Shot is shot obviously, it would be silly for each type of shot and not what I mean. Does this bother anyone else?

Just to add my 2 cents, I'm personally surpised at all the criticism I've been reading about the new 2013 demo, because after playing it I found it to be a phenomenal improvement over 2012.
Gameplay just seems much more fluid and free. And God be praised... they finally nailed the shooting and crossing system. I noticed that even when shooting regardless of manual, it's so much more satisfying. I must also emphasise that I love the new RT controlled shot, works so much better than in previous years. Almost every aspect of gameplay seems to have been tweaked for the better.
Whilst last year's edition of PES proved actually unplayable for me, I have been so relieved about this year's.
Can't wait for the full game!

What he said.

If I'm uber critical of PES2013 I'll have no issue finding faults ... but ... the difference between PES2012 and PES2013 is that the faults on PES2012 severely hindered any enjoyment I found in the game. The AI ground you down with some very suspect scripting, especially noticeable when you change the game speed to -2.

Whatever faults there are on PES2013 aren't sufficient to damage my enjoyment of this game. As far as I'm concerned, thats good enough for me.

I'll admit I'm actually enjoying it. Scored a beast of a freekick with Neymar, In off the crossbar :)

I have high hopes that this PES is going to bring some of the FIFA converts back, simply because I expect it to be more fun to play than FIFA.

Has anyone used the PES editor on the PC version to see what teams are listed in the game yet? I'm dying to know what leagues made the cut.
