Pes 2013 ?

Game breaker for me with pes this year is the shooting . The goals feel hollow.
They should of built on pes 2011. 2012 they've ruined online because of this fully automated passing combined with removing a lot of user input making it more friendly to shit players. 2011 had it's flaws online but you could eradicate most of them by getting good at the game. Also, the gulf between good and average (footballers) players is a joke.

PES 2011's shooting was way way too easy. It was so overpowered it was unbelievable. If they toned down the power on PES 2011's shooting and made it a bit harder to aim for corners then it'd be realistic. Or just change it to Demo 2's shooting

If we're talking lower tier players like your Craig Beattie's and Rob Hulse's, fair do's but if you want to apply that to decent players it doesn't work. If anything the worst thing about PES2011 was the ease of scoring using cut backs, they were a bastard to stop. Although that said, the players reactions were appalling on PES2011, that was one thing that drove me barmy. Players near the ball refusing to intercept or getting locked into animation which left them prone. That was bloody annoying.

I remember that whenever I was leading with a big margin, I used to shoot from the centre circle just for fun and it always went on target. Players had way too much power, especially for players like Torres which I specifically remember scoring with just after kick-off. Go on to youtube and type something like best goals pes 2011 and you wouldn't believe your eyes.

Btw, I agree with your point about the low responsiveness of PES 2011 with through balls never being intercepted and defenders not clearing the ball

Semi in FIFa is perfect. It takes into account where your aimming the stick and the player finishing ability. BEAUTIFUL

It is prevalent on PES2012 as well. My friend and I were playing a ML together as Fulham (two players on one team) and we watched a goal back we conceded. Inexplicably with the ball in the air coming towards Hangeland and him stood still, he doesn't jump or lean to head the ball. His runs stutters and moves slightly away the from the ball leaving the computer to score. It's not the first time I've seen it happen either. It's just maddening. You can understand on occasions why people feel the game is so scripted when AI controlled players behave this way.

now through balls are intercepted by lightning fast reactions by the CPU defense in 2012. Not worth chasing after a loose ball because the CPU will always get there before, you even pass by you and in the process move like he was drafting off of you.
Don't try to step in front of a CPU through ball because it will ricochet off of you with double speed directly to another CPU player who is moving towards your goal in stride.
Forget about defensive clears or heading from your own goal kicks because they will also mysteriously connect to a CPU player.
And be warned, if a CPU clears or goal kicks it will have pinpoint accuracy to a MF or CF smiling on his way to your box.

@Sminky
It happens a lot to everyone else to but my notion for this is because of the scripting. I don't know about the responsiveness taking part in this because KONAMI did make players less responsive in the last patch as everyone complained that players moving felt like they were skating on ice. It's probably the scripting as thats tooken over the gameplay of PES, even in multiplayer or online matches

I am thinking of buying FIFA just because of the scripting. Please tell me FIFA doesn't script like I wrote above.

The CPU connect to your passes not only because of scripting but because of the lack of freedom of the scriptedness in passing. Remember in PES 2011 when you could curl a pass around the defender to your players feet. Try doing it in this year's edition and it goes straight to the defender or to the goalkeeper, not where you aimed it. The computer decides the possible outputs of the pass so you can' place it exactly where you want, even in 0 pass assistance

and I notice variations in passing ability that seems to alter when I am trying to tie a game or go ahead by a goal. Suddenly it get more difficult. You stated it best - the computer decides the possible outputs.

Yep, when you are trying to score, the three pass rule comes in. Its when you cant string three first touch passes together. Or when you pass it to a player and the ball rolls ahead of him. Or when you tap the pass button and he smashes it to another player. Passing is very inconsistent in the game and is buggy and frustrating.

And for the FIFA 12 scripting, have a quick look in the PES 2012 VS FIFA 12 thread and Amateur would have already explained it in enough detail

It makes me wonder whether Konami pay attention to independent patches like those of Jenkey's, they surely must realise that the reason they get made is because their programming is lazy when it comes to creating challenging AI.

Very interesting.
Just shows what a shambles this game is for them to take such action.
I'm not buying it though unless I try it for myself first.

Yow if they put in precision dribble like EA and new animations...and tweak the control scheme, plus get rid of the bugs I'm good!

Damn, the inevitable happened. Hopefully they'll build a lot on this PES 2012 engine. I just no that it won't have FIFA-esque animations and just a few more from the animations from PES 2012
