I didn't have many of those problems yet, but maybe because I don't usually do kits for big teams. I guess I'm in a "different league" of editing which few care about.
About nicoultras OF, I didn't know about it (I've not been following his thread), but I checked it now, and I must side with you Caveras (sorry people). I kinda understand when he says that if someone shares kits it's for other people to use, and I also understand that we should work together to have the best game as possible, that's the spirit of the community (he at least gave credit, but that doesn't make it right I guess), and even though I don't like it much when editors prefer not to allow others to use their work (it's a bit against the spirit of the community, but I understand and respect), if it's
your work you should be able to decide what you do with it and who can and who can't use it, and we have to respect that. Also, fan made content is completely different from official licensed content, the argument of "ah, you also don't have permission to do those kits, you stole the logos and stuff from the team first so why can't we use them, that's not stealing" it's not a valid point in my opinion.
Btw, I don't know what this video is still doing here. It's one of those wild collections and they don't even give credit.
I wouldn't also like if I saw my work appearing in a "wild bunch of collected stuff" without credit or permission. Let me share a story with you: One time, someone uploaded some of my PES 2017 kits in a website called pes-patch, with ad-links. The website was making money out of my kits and without my knowledge. When I found out I commented on that page complaining about it (basically, if I wasn't making money out of my own work, why should they?) and made them at least add a direct-link to the kits if they want to keep them in there. They did, but a while later they basically changed my comment on that page to just "Thanks, keep up the good work". Like if I was happy about my kits being in there. I didn't notice at first, only a few months later, because they must've waited for a few days before doing that change on the comment (when I checked if they added the direct link my comment was still normal). Honestly, when I found out, it felt like it was too late already to complain about it so I just forgot and let it go.
The point is, I wouldn't stop doing what I like just because of some people. As you know, I kept sharing and doing kits/teams (and improved my skills since then I think :laugh
. My advice to you is, if you enjoy doing those kits, don't quit. Just stop doing it for other OFs (specially paid ones), do it for yourself and for your game and then, if you want, publish everything by yourself. That's what I do, I create the kits/teams I want to see on my game and then I share because I know there might be other people around who'd enjoy them too. I know it feels good to get recognition for something you created and shared with others for free, and that only makes it harder to deal with this kind of problems, and several editors/content creators end giving up because of it. If the signature on your kits isn't enough and some people can't read the rules on forum threads/websites (or are too lazy to do it), put some info on a corner of the png file like "Kit made by Caveras, don't use on any OF without written permission!!!". But don't surrender to those people. Don't let the toxic people affect you and the things you like, it's a game and it's meant to be fun and enjoyable. Just be on your own league and enjoy what you do
And thanks, you seem like a cool guy too
