the 360 version is more enjoyable! thats what ive came to believe now! its just the fact that the edit mode is non-existent that brings it down.

im getting good at the game now so its not annoying me as much as it did, the defendin is still poor and the keepers spill alot of shots but the game has improved from pes5.
however, the first touch is so slow now that if ur not in space u have 2 pass or the defender will take the ball from u.
That and the ratings is all i would complain about rite now

I couldn't agree more!

Nick, I know where you are coming from mate , I hate every new Pro Evo when it comes out because I go from someone who wins everything , scores a million goals and never concedes any to someone who just can't do anything and I hate it and because I'm a simple minded chap I naturally blame the game for it............ just give it time , when it clicks it is a very very good game ....... the style of defending that worked on PES5 simply does not work in this game and you need to adapt ........ stick with it , it will click and you'll love it....

Honestly... this man talks the truth!!!!!

What a difference a year makes

First off let me say that I began playing the PES/WE series with Winning Eleven 8 and have purchased WE 9 and PES2007 since. WE9 was definitely an enjoyable game, however was very frustrating at the same time. I concur with the whole "scripted game" concept, not to mention in the Master League when your whole entire team would be injured due to over-aggressive CPU. I thought to myself, "PES2007 MUST be an improvement from this."

WOW WAS I EVER WRONG!

Konami has seriously slapped American PES/WE fans in the face with this year's installment. I don't know if PES6 is the same or what. Seriously, how more BLANTANTLY obvious can this game get when it comes to biasness towards the human player? The CPU opponents win nearly EVERY ariel ball, the ball appears magnetic to their feet. ( I can't count how many times they'll just dribble through me, and I'll stumble like I got hit by a truck, while they're able to recover the ball easily without missing a beat). I'd be able to tolerate this if my OWN cpu players weren't so goddamn mentally retarded! Why the in the hell do my CPU defenders play so passively and literally back up into my own goal? This is beyond frustrating because I cannot control all 11 players on my team, so I at least expect my CPU players to get into obvious passing lanes and mark players. And it doesn't matter which team I am, or which team CPU is...they'll be faster. Seriously, what is point in playing if my fate is already scripted? And before someone replies with "boohoo, then don't play the game"...I paid my freakin 40 bucks for the game, I have a right to complain!

I play against my friends and they're convinced this game is better. They have a right to their opinion, but when they try telling me the defending in PES2007 is better than WE9, that's where I draw the line and begin arguing. In WE9, my matches with friends would have real scores like 3-1, 2-0, 1-0, etc. In PES2007? We're lucky to have a match with fewer than 7 goals scored total. Yeah, better defending MY ASS!

Bottom line is, this game is a pathetic release from an otherwise outstanding series. Is it better than FIFA? Hands down, but we've already established that 10 years ago. COME ON KONAMI, Quit turning into EA Sports you lazy bastards!

Also: This game is like a love/hate relationship. As much as I hate it and complain, I still play. So please, offer tips on how to DEFEND better and get through all the BS to make this game fun. I refuse to play on anything but Top Player because anything less is too easy.

The defending is better. Remember that the computer doesn't do anything you can't do. If the ball is falling to their players in midfield confrontations, you may want to alter your formation. If you are losing aerial battles, you need to set it up so that good aerial players (Gerrard, Stam, Ibrah, whatever) are the ones involved in those battles, and then learn the subtleties inherent to winning them..

mate use r2 button now as your main weapon in defending it takes awhile but once you master it the game will open up and youll realize that this game is alot better than the last 1

Learn to play. The defending is better. The computer doesn't do anything you can't do. If the ball is falling to their players in midfield confrontations, you may want to alter your formation. Well said, couldn't have said it better myself. Not only can you do everything the ai does, you can do so much more that they can't. Like he said if you can't win aerial battles then use players who can or keep the ball on the ground.

I actually have a problem with the game though. It's too easy :(

play game with our file world soccer v2,it will improve the game 10 fold

Thanks a lot for the replies. I hate to come off as a whining a-hole, but I really want to be addicted to this game like I was WE9. I downloaded one of your OF's before goalgerd; is v2 one you have just released, and did you tinker with stats? I liked the preliminary version and shall try the update and see how it goes.

A couple things I've noticed with PES2007 from WE9 is that it seems tougher to "switch" to the right player at times. I'll be hitting L1 like a madman trying to get on defender, but to no avail. I also don't like that the "cut" move is harder to do. It seems like getting around defenders is rather difficult. And wtf is up with the pass speed? They kick the ball like toddlers out there. Put some muscle on it for God sake!

I also have PES2007 for the PSP and noticed the Emblems don't transfer with the data link. Anyone know of a way to solve this issue?

Thanks
