PES 6 terrible stuttering problems,unplayable

Got PES 6 delivered first thing this morning, but it's unplayable due to terrible stuttering problems.

Apparently heard on another forum that this is a problem with ATI cards,i have a X1900XT 512mb card. Seen a few other guys with ATI cards having the same problems as me.

Will there be a fix anywhere along the line for this,so disappointed, never had any issue's with PES 5 & the same hardware

Any idea's/Suggestions would be welcome

Rob

Hmm.....

Try adjusting your monitor Refresh rate to run at 60Hz as in the case of PES5, 60fps was the only frame rate that the game ran at.

with PES5 this had to be done manually as the PC version of PES5 was too shit to do it for you.

Well im not. it makes a difference messin around with the refresh rates and v sync from bad to worse best settin for me is 60hz vsync completely off, pes 5 has the same problem but corrected at 60 hz vsync on, they spend so much time concentratin on gameplay? why if you cant even play it? OH does everyone here having a problem got a CRT or is it just the TFT users???

Dual core problems maybe?

I've heard some rumors that stuttering occures only on machines equipped with dual-core cpu's.

I've run it with affinity switched to just one core, makes no difference for me.

I've tried everything !! Was at it all day yesterday, all gfx card tweaks, res settings,v-sync on/off refresh rates

Changed lots of different drivers.Offical cats, beta's,omega's

It's a known problem with ATI cards,i said earlier in the thread that a customer support guy told me they knew about it already

Damn. Guys who claim core affinity solved their problems all have nvidia gpus indeed.

Good news,well sort of

Managed to have a full game just now, stuttering badly for the first 20-30 seconds, then it was'nt doing it as much. I set program priority to high & the longer the game seemed to go on it was doing it less.Don't know if i could put up with it all the time though.

Well I've just completed two games! The first one was pretty painful, Lost of stuttering/slowdown. Things started to improve after half time with stuttering down to every 20 seconds or so. The second game was almost stutter free! A vast improvement to say the least! As Rob pointed out, I don't think I could put up with this on a regular basis.

it is probably something wrong with SOUND not with gfx. thats my opinion

I have also the problem, and i have nvidia.....................

I also think its could be the sound??

How many of you run with onboard sound..??

* Reduce the hardware sound acceleration level: Click on the Windows Start button, select Run, type "dxdiag," press Enter, click on the Sound Tab, and slide the Hardware Sound Acceleration bar to "Basic" or "None."

It didnt worked for me... but maybe some of you is lucky... :)

When i drive a sound-test... i get this message:

Your sound card does not support hardware buffering. Sounds will only play back form software buffers!!

can this be the problem?? :S

I have played a couple of games with all in game sound settings set to off and it definately made a difference.

Thing is I am getting thrashed as I am waiting for the bl**dy think to freeze all the time. Probably send the game back.
