PES: Best in Series so Far?

As Pro Evo comes to an end on current-gen with PES6, i'm interested in what version of PES you think has been the best so far?

Its a difficult one. For me PES5 plays the best game of football but is let down by the infuriating AI. However, in terms of enjoyment and the game thats given me the best memories, i think PES2 wins it.

Most think the series has evolved, others think it slowly devolved.

agreed pes2 gave the most enjoyment!!!...laughin at the nederland line-up full of oranges...
Also i still beleive that the animations in pes2 were the best...if you lie down on your couch watching people play pes2 without teh radar and the name bar it looks like an actual footy match.
i tried that with 4 and 5 ...nothing like it

PES2 for me too. Scored some outrageous goals on that game and the square then x shot feint was absoloutly perfect. Nedved went on some quality runs using that move. So much more excitement as your never knew what was gonna happern in a game. But the best thing was...it had cellini from the default team,. He was class, had white boots and had a rocket of a right foot.

If you havent played any of the PES series then any of them will be hard at first. I would suggest just getting PES6.

I think I had the most fun playing PES4, I agree that PES5 was a better game overall but the AI did ruin it.

pes4 wasn't bad but the ball was stuck to the player's foot making it easy to run up and down the field without losing possession.
pes5 is the best i think. Ive been playing it since novemeber and even though the AI can get annoying since they always try to trip u, u learnt not to give them that chance. Also pes5 is great against other players since u don't have to worry about the AI.

PES5 definitely. A real classic. With updates, I can still play PES5 for another few more years. It is that good.

I would say PES5 is the best, as I do believe the game improves every year. But my vote goes to PES4 as I think there was a big jump in quality between 3 and 4.
