PES vs FIFA Player Likeness

FIFA 08's player faces look awful compared to PES 2008. But from a distance FIFA is by far the better looking game.

Most of those FIFA kits look absolutely shocking, the England badge and numbers are small and warped. Allthough that could be edit screengraphics > ingame graphics.

The next-gen (360 and PS3) FIFA 08 kits appear far better designed than those of PES 2008. I think the FIFA screen shots in the first thread are not very crisp. On my HDTV they look rather excellent.

To be fair, it's obviously been compiled by a Fifabasher. i've played next gen fifa and these faces dont do it justice. I'm not sure those faces are from next gen to be honest.

Fifa's Robbie Keane looks better than Pro's and i think if FIFA payed more attention to hair then Ronaldo would look decent, part from that the rest are better on pro.

yeah you must remember, the artist can't make the player look any less ugly, so i don't think its the graphics that are bad, its just the way they look! :laugh: :laugh:

in fact my avatar looks more like crouch then fifa's does!:laugh:

some seem to be fifa last gen others this gen,keane is next gen but ronaldinho who looks like hes been up all night on a crack binge,looks last gen.fifa faces are awful,non of them look good in the slightest on next gen,from far it looks good but the faces are poor

The faces on FIFA look so much better than those given. It's obviously biased towards PES to make people keep thinking that FIFA is shite when it's fair to say that it a much better game this year than any previous version. If the FIFA were HD it'd be hard to say which are better in my opinion.

Shame they haven't put PES' Gerrard or Lampard up there...

The thing is the graphics arent under question....its the likeness of the players that is.....the sharpness etc its all irrelevant i have played and seen fifa on a HDTV and have to say players up close look great on about 15 or 20 players.....the rest are extremly poor...players are also hard to decifer from one and other from a distance....if accidently played carrick on the right instead of Ronaldo you wouldnt notice until you saw the names.

The FIFA pics can't be next-gen.

sadly they are, and not only their faces suck but the kits aswell, they are unrealistic to be next gen. i can confirm that they are real cause i own fifa 08

Rooney looks so much better on FIFA than that picture shows. As I said before about Gerrard and Lampard, they look terrible on PES along with a lot of others. If PES didn't have the gameplay advantage it'd be outdone by next-gen FIFA.

Carrick has bright red Puma boots where as Ronaldo has white vapors on btw. So it is easy to tell players apart as long as you know about the team you're playing with.

Fifa faces always look far too fat and waxy to me, everytime. And last years Fifa.... Lampard looked like Gazza in his alky years and seemed to have a beak instead of a normal looking nose. Oh and you should be able to tell the players apart anyway my friend, that's why PES comes out on top, the way that all the players are distinguishable from one another from a distance.

the thing with Fifa faces is that unless they do an exact player likeness (like the ones at the start of the thread) then they use these random faces that are nothing like anyone
