Awesome, thanks for the link. Is his patch built off yours? Or did he start from scratch? Shame to hear he's discontinued it.

BTW, thanks a lot for your patch. If this had been the way PES2008 was released, it would be far superior to any other soccer game ever released

We kinda worked off each other and everyone else, but Rob has organised quite alot of people doing different stuff, some doing players, some do stats, some doing kits, while i was doing most of the graphical stuff involving emblems for some teams and all for the league/replay emblems.

The only difference at the time of our releases was that almost everything in his version was Championship related (balls, adboards, opening menus, etc) while i just kept the defaults letting the downloaders choose their own mini-patches.

But I don't think there would be another update from either of us...he's bored of PES (he only plays FM now), and I'm too busy to game.

I installed your patch cos it looks awesome. I managed to get your ball patch going and it was awesome. Now ive come across this patch and was gunan give it a bash. Installed and done it all but when i came to load pes it just gets stuck at the loading screen before the video coming on. It just shows the pes logo in the bottom left corner. Can u help? :/

So to fix this, you would have to re-download the patch files and use fresh .img files from your DVD/ISO file.

If the problem persists, please come back.

Sorry, I would probaly not be updating this patch anymore as I am quite busy lately and don't have alot of time for patching.

What happens when you try to start the game?

i made that process again and now i have that patch,but aston villa,birningham,wigan,west ham have chelsea 3rd kit,and english 2nd division teams have france kits,france teams have bundesliga kits and emblems aren't correct

If this problem occurs, it is either:

1.You have not patched cv_1.img

2. or you have yet to move the PES2008_EDIT01.bin file I have provided to:
My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save

I just got PES2008 on PC and since I live in the US and Konami didn't make the game for PC in the US I ordered it from "Play.com" in Hong Kong, I have been playing PES since PES 4 and I remember people like Watson and Feanor *SPELLING* and when they made OF's and Patches the one thing that is key is that they not only put the time and effort into making a quality OF or Patch but they helped people put them in and stayed w/the thread and answered even the most stupid question, and that my friend is what separates you from these other SO CALLED patch makers like FKuyt MixPatch v3.0 Pes 2008, and E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. Patch II these patches were made by people who don't care about weather you get them into your game or not and they fail miserably at helping people, they are 100's of new people that join these forums every month or so and they don't know anything about patching a game and you seem to know that and help people, ALOT, and that is the difference in just another patch or OF and THE BEST, A CLASS ACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I downloaded the file but in the img files folder does not contain file cv_0.img It does have cv_o.afp instead. And when I do it in AFS Exploer it appear "file has not been identified as AFS. Would you like to load it anyway? I click ok. It said " Fail reading AFS version" Please help me, thanks

cv_0.img (and the other .img files) are found in:
C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\img

The .afp files are the patch files where you apply onto the your .img files.

By the way, are you following the picture-tutorial or the text-tutorial?
I recommend following the picture-tutorial which is located on the first page since it is much easier to follow than the text version.

Also, don't forget to copy the PES2008_EDIT01.bin I have provided into:
My Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\save
You'll have to delete the one you have, or you can choose to back it up in a safe location.

I'm sorry, I won't be able to give you a straight answer since i have yet to play online myself.

But I don't see how Konami would be able to block you from playing online games after patching so i guess online PES would not be affected.

But I have heard that the default graphics would be loaded instead of the patched data, I am not certain though.

You should ask this on the PC Troubleshooting thread just to make sure.

your patch looks nice but it doesnt work with us version. i get jumbled up up names and logos. any suggestions for overcoming this? note- in us version, the rv_e file is called rv_u. ive tried changing the file name still wont work. followed tutorial down to a tee, save files, .img, switching to "all files" and i get same results. im thinking theres a structure/code difference, i dont know u tell me. heres a link to exe if anybody wants to take a look at it...

Sorry, I am not sure if I would be able to help you out on this one since I do not own a US version, but I'll try my best.
By the way, I heard that US did not release a PC version?...I might be wrong but I think I have seen some post this matter a few times on this forum already.

Anyways, with the rv_e/rv_u problem, you shouldn't have to change any file names. All you have to do is load rv_u.img, then load the rv_e.afp file I have provided and it should patch and work perfectly.
This method have been tried with other language cross versions where german patches have worked perfecly on english games (rv_g to rv_e).

And I also want to ask how many .bin files are there in each of you cv_0.img, cv_1.img and rv_u.img files?
You can find this by simply loading each of these files on AFS-Explorer, then scrolling to the bottom and tell me the name of the file at the bottom of the list (it should be named as: unnamed_xxxx.bin).
If the number of .bin files does not match the English version then I don't think this patch would be able to be applied to the US version.
