[PES4] Jonboyo's Final Pes4 ps2 patch-jb30.10.04pes4.ppf

I just stumbled across this patch yesterday and i dropped my jaw in awe when I saw what it offered. Although, i have some questions regarding the patching of PES4, so bare with me and hopefully you can help me out.
I realise that i have left this really late as PES5 is due for release sometime in the next few months, although i'd still look into patching PES4 up until i make my purchase of PES5. I also realise that this patch is about 8 months old, so recent kits for the new EPL season wont be included, which i'm not too fussed about.
I have a chipped Playstation 2 (so i'm obviously looking at making a patched copy of PES4 for PS2) so i have no problems in that area and I am quite aware of how to burn DVDs, whether they be a game or movies as i have and use DVD Decrypter, Alcohol 120% and Nero.

1) Firstly, how large is the file in total? I am suspecting it's quite large, in the 500mb region?

2) Which brings me onto my next question, where exactly do i find the files to download for this patch? As the mirrored websites listed in the original post no longer work, I am now confused as to where I would be able to find the files for this patch. After some looking through this thread, i find that I must use Bit Torrent (something i have never used before, but i believe a downloading program). So can someone please direct me into the right direction in where these files are and how to go about downloading them.

3) Is this patch worth it especially if it's such a large download? Just need an opnion from those who actually have successfully installed this patch and taking into consideration that the new PES5 is soon coming. From viewing some screenshots and reading the list of what it offers, it sounds absolutely amazing. Also, i take it PES5 patches would be on the way once it's out? I won't be leaving it so late that time. :)

4) Once downloaded, how can files within the patch be edited and say adding some extra features such as balls which i see some people have been doing?

I am really hoping the task of creating a patched version of PES4 isn't as daunting as it seems after reading through parts of this thread and with hopefully all of my questions, or even some, answered it would help me immmensely and take me a step closer to enjoying a fantastic edited version of such an incredible football game.
So any help you can provide to get me started with downloading or anything, i'd be so grateful.
Thanks in advance. :)

Hi there.

1) About 270MB which unrars to about 300MB

2) Use the Torrent link which is attached at the bottom of the first post of this thread.

3) Yes. Yes. And Yes.
Try playing with these kits

instead of the default ones and you won't go back.

4) All guides are posted in the General Editing section - check this thread.

Guide to unrarring files is here.
Info about Bit Torrent is here.
And the basic and easy to follow guide to patching is here.

Don't worry about patching your game. It is as easy as pie and the people who have problems with patching are those who also have trouble using a watch. Start the torrent download and read the patching guide here to see how simple it is and prepare for the process. When you have downloaded the patch, unrar it and you're ready to apply it and move on to enjoy the best ever matches of PS2 PES4 you'll ever have seen.

If you have a Max Drive, you can further the experience with updated teams using the modified version of the pesfan V3 file, modified to perfectly suit this jonboyo pes4 patch- which is posted here. If you don't have a max drive order one and if you can't wait, then you should be able to burn the bin/cue version of that option file (further down in the option file thread) onto CDR to transfer to your memory card.

Any problems or questions and people are around to help. Good luck. Looking forward to your opinions about how good a patched game is.

You have been a fantastic help so far and have really cleared up a lot of things for me. The whole burning process and attaching the patch like i said does not concern me as i am sure i'll know what to do and going through the patching guide, it's looks pretty straight forward. It's the whole getting the file which has bothered me.

Now, what i have done is downloaded the 22kb file at the bottom of the first post. What exactly needs to be done now may i ask?
EDIT: Sorry, i forgot to read the Bittorent thread. I understand now... but now i must ask is the availablity of the patch easy to obtain?
Seeing as i only have 56k internet, my friend today accepted to download the files for me in return for God of War. :) Once i get as far as getting the patch downloaded i can then tell you how i am enjoying my new PES4 experience. :)

Thanks again for the help so far.

It will probably take a while to download the patch depending on how many people are sharing it at the moment. But this is the only way to get it so you'll have to be patient with it.

Many thanks for editing your post rather than re-replying to yourself. Many people here could learn a lot from you.

Well, like i said, my friend who has cable internet it downloading it for me. Even then, he is getting it at a really slow rate although if a good seeder comes along he will have the chance to download a little faster.
He left it downloading overnight and woke up to it frozen and ended up getting no percent downloaded. Quite interesting, would you know what the problem is in regards to that? He started it again and is 10% through the download at this current point in time. He promised to leave it on overnight once and again and fingers crossed it does not crash again. Hopefully i will hear so better news tomorrow. I'll just need to be patient but i am aiming for end of the week for completion of the download.

Also need to ask even more questions (i'm fully of questions... sorry):

1) Seeing as all (it's ALL, right?) teams are licenced in this patch, is it still possible to edit their kits in the game? Like, with orginally licenced teams that already exist on the game, you cannot edit their kits whatsoever. Is it like this? Also, the Max Drive is tempting but i think i can make do without at the time being, that is the option files and all.

2) I saw an update for this patch in another thread and was wondering if that was worth the 120mb??? download. I am trying to limit the amount of files i download, especially such big ones.

3) There are so many different patches, i can just apply the same method using "pdx-pom3" to add patches to the game?

That's all... for now.

Many thanks for editing your post rather than re-replying to yourself. Many people here could learn a lot from you.

No problem. Having run a forum myself, i am quite clear with the workings of forums also as i pretty much post on so many different forums. Cheers.
Looking forward to playing with my beloved Chelsea on a lovely patched version of PES4 very soon.

What program is he using to download with? It's unusual for it to just stop if there are seeds around. Weird. I use Azureus and that doesn't happen.

1) If you use ingame edit mode to change the kits all you will have available are the crappy ingame edited kits. You can't change the kits unless you do it on your pc, by replacing the kit from the individual team - using the kit importing guide.

2) Don't worry about the update.
3) Yep. Just make sure that the patch is for your game. For example a PS2 WE8:LE patch will not work on PS2 PES4 and PC PES4 patches will not work on PS2 PES4 too. Generally, you just apply the patches to your iso using ppf-o-matic/pdx. If you did get the update, you would just have to apply the main patch and then the update in the same way.

I haven't asked him which bittorrent program he uses. But, he left it on overnight again and got to 43%. Although, it froze again but has keep what he has so far downloaded. Thank god for that. It's interesting that.

I will have a look at the editing thread after this post as i have not yet gone through that so i get a better idea.
I tend to find a lot of patches are for WE8 which is quite annoying.

Anyway, getting closer to completion. :)

EDIT: I will have the patch tomorrow, Friday! It's completed and i will have the patch in my hands tomorrow. Now i am in the process of obtaining updated kit images and a few soccer balls.
But i'm confused about the editing of the patch. I can't find a tutorial thread which tells you how to edit the kits and soccer balls on the patch. I hoping it's somthing simple?
Thanks in advance.

FTP doesn't work, and I hate torrents.
Seriously, anyone got a download link or an ftp link that isn't a torrent for this?

No worries mate :)

I am currently uploading this jonboyo patch to lomungtung's ftp. Part 1 is up now and the rest are on the way. You can begin to download part 1 only. I'll post when the rest are up. The info thread for downloading from lomungtung's ftp is here.

Dr. Bob Kelso

Welcome back...
What a site this is! Ive been playing pro evo since, well forever and yet had never seen this.

Zyg you are to be truly commended for your patiance.

I am totally new to all this and I do have a question that may seem pretty obvious.

1) Can I burn the patched ISO to both DVD and CD?

Hi. You can read the basic patching guide over here. Since we are patching the original iso - this is a dvd iso and will have to be burnt onto a DVD-R as it is way too big for a CDR. Unless you try to use the CD-ripkit that is - which is over here.

But I would recommend using the method to burn to dvd as it is much simpler to follow and much much more successful. The cd-ripkit is a bit iffy and doesn't always work.

I've uploaded all of the patch to lomungtung's ftp - you can find it in this sub-folder:

I have a problem with the patch that i downloaded. I want to get all the files together and when i click on them to extract them to a different folder so they its all one big part and not 3 it comes up with the following :

It says the archive is either unknown or damaged??? I downloaded Winrar, soim a bit confused??

Thanks

It shouldn't say archive damaged. If you have all 3 parts, it should unrar into one big ppf file. If it won'r unrar then you may have to download it again.

I was given the patch on a CD on Friday and to my disappointment it was unable to read off the disc. Was extremely scratched so i have to wait until tomorrow to receive it again on a better disc. I am hoping i wont have too many troubles with the unraring.

Over the past week, i have really started to understand it all now. I have some editing programs and i am ready to further edit the game myself once i attached to the patch to the ISO.

Can you confirm a something for me though?
On the current option file i use, i have edited a few things on the game using thr in game editor. Will there be a clash problem if i use the patched version with the edited option file? Eg: I have edited several kits of the EPL, so will the kits on the patch be used or my edited ones?
Thanks.

Hi.
The kits on the option file take priority so if you've edited them - they will show up instead of the patched kits. To get the patched kits to show up ingame you have to go to edit mode and set all the kits back to default - and then you need to modify the kit text types and colour to make them suit each kit.........

or you can download and use this option file we made HERE which saves you the effort of doing this, so you get the updated teams and squads (from pesfan v3) and the patched kits looking great.
