ok its a new day all the files i have read as are stated on the tuturial the only thing that bothers me is where to put the new updated files i think there are three so f*ck it ill give it a go and if it works ill poste and tell you all what order to put them in.

I haven't tried applying them yet but I'm going to give it a good try tomorrow.

I'll report back when I've managed to apply all the PPF parts and burned the ISO onto DVD-R.

Ok Guys,
If your like me and somewhat baffled by all the various bits of mumbo jumbo that are on the links for this patch, I managed to do it and i'm no tech wiz kid trust.....considering all the discs i wasted.
Firstly as the rest of the lads say you should only use the retail copy of PES5......

SECONDLY THIS PATCH IS DESIGNED TO WORKED ON MODIFIED PS2's!!!!

You will need 4 programs

(1) DVD Decryptor, (2) WINRAR, (3) PPF-o-MATIC and (in my case) (4)NERO programs to complete the process

1......The first thing you will need is the WINRAR program to extract the ppf files from the various ppf files you need to download

2.....You then have to download ALL 10 the files on the main thread this means

filefront_ppf_part1,
filefront_ppf_part2,
filefront_ppf_part3,
filefront_ppf_part4,
filefront_ppf_part5,
filefront_ppf_fix,
filefront_ppf_update_part1
filefront_ppf_update_part2
filefront_ppf_update_fix
filefront_ppf_megaupdate

You will need all these files if you want the patch to work correctly

3.....Once you have ALL these files downloaded put them into a new seperate file, that is easy to access..I created a new file in "My Documents"

4....You can now run the WINRAR program to extract each of the individual files....This part confuses many so be careful!

THOUGH THERE ARE 10 PPF FILES TO DOWNLOAD WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED EXTRACTING THEM THERE WILL IN FACT BE FEWER FILES!!!!

5....The extracted files should now read as follows

(i) TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF(1)
(ii) TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF(2)
(iii) TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF_fix
(iv) TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF_update
(v) TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF_update_fix
(vi) TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF_megaupdate

These 6 files are now used for patching the game

6....Place the retail copy of PES5 into DVD drive

7....Open up the DVD Decryptor program....Click "mode" on the top bar..and make sure that the ISO icons is selected to "R"/Read

8....Where it says "Destination" in the DVD Decryptor menu make sure you have a new empty file (i named it "PRO EV 5") in your "my documents" folder.

9....Once all this is ready select the DVD-HARD DRIVE icon

9....After DVD Decryptor is finished, you can NOW start patching the game

10....Open up the PPF O MATIC program

11....IN PPF O MATIC Where it says "ISO FILE" you must open up the folder "PRO EV 5" or the file that contains the original image from DVD Decryptor

****NB****ONE THING IS CRUCIAL FOR THE PATCHING PROCESS***

WHEN SELECTING THE ISO FILE IT WILL REMAIN THE SAME
FILE AS THE ONE SAVED FROM DVD DECRYPTOR
i.e the file named "PRO EV 5"

12...IN PPF O MATIC where it says "PATCH" you must select the TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF(1) file which contains the extracted files.....Open this file....Select TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF.....Then PPF PATCH....Then PPF1....Finally select Team-PES-X_ppf1 and select open.....once you have selected open click "APPLY"

13...You must now wait for the PPF program to patch

14....When finished again select "PRO EV 5" file and where it says patch again select TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF(1) file......Open this file....Select TEAM_PES-X_GERMANY_PES5_PPF.....Then PPF PATCH....
SELECT Then PPF2....Finally select Team-PES-X_ppf2 and when done select the "APPLY" logo on the ppf program

15....Again Select the "PRO EV 5" where it says ISO but this time select the PES FIX file as the patch and select APPLY

16....Next Select the same "PRO EV 5" but in "apply" select the PES UPDATE FILE .... select update 11.10.05....select update and finally "apply" on the program

17....Again Select the "PRO EV 5" as the ISO but apply the UPDATE FIX FILE and again select APPLY

18...To finish the patching select the "PRO EV 5" but this time select the MEGAUPDATE FILE and again select APPLY....

19....The game is now patched....

20...To complete the game insert a blank DVD-R into the DVD Drive...open the Nero Program....Select the DVD icon and select "Burn Image To Disc"......

21...The image that you will be burning will be the same as the one you have used throughout "PRO EV 5"

22...When the Burn Speed appears select the lowest speed possible......

21...When finished the game should work

THIS IS ALOT OF HASTLE I KNOW BUT I HAVE MADE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY COMPLICATIONS IF THERE IS LET ME KNOW AND I WILL TRY AND HELP!!!!!

There's something I don't quite get here.

It says in the above guide that I should be left with two folders consisting of PES_PPF(1) and PES_PPF(2) which in themselves, contain two files:

PPF1.PPF and;
PPF2.PPF.

This doesn't make sense as I've checked in the first 5 parts myself that there is 2 PPF files for each of the first 5 parts of this patch.

So what am I supposed to do here? Apply each PPF1 and PPF2 patch, one by one according to which RAR file it came from (apply PPF1.PPF and PPF2.PPF from part1, then apply PPF1.PPF and PPF2.PPF from part2, then apply PPF1.PPF and PPF2.PPF from part3 etc)?

Or should I extract all 5 parts as one file therefore merging the separate PPF1 and PPF2 files?

Great patch!

I wanna put a BIG THX here for the TEAM PES-X TEAM....

It works only with my original PES5 disk. And yes I can put into my HDD of PS2...no loading time...

DO NOT WORK with beta and with any illegaly downloaded copy of PES5. I tried many times...

Good and bad news

Well people, I've just applied all of the parts of this patch (13 files) to my original PES5 and I have good news and bad news.

I'll start with the good news. The good news is that this patch does work with Swap Magic 2.0 and above.

All the kits are there, the player names seem to have been fixed for both clubs and national teams, stadium and competition names have also been corrected. All the club logos are there aswell.

The bad news is that I noticed that the new national teams that have been added (such as Angola), have basically been overwritten over the old ones. For example, Angola have been added but the roster still consists of the South African national team. :angry:

I've also noticed that the UEFA and FIFA all stars logos are there and so are the kits but again, the rosters still consist of the PES and WE United players.

And there is a problem with the Man Utd away kit. There seems to be some transparent "spots" in the middle of the players' chest.

And one last thing, you can't use your own option file for this patch. I mean, if you already have an option file saved on your Memory Card created by your unpatched, original PES5 DVD, then it will not work with this patch.

My advice is, delete any option files you currently have on your Memory Card and create a new option file with the new patched PES5 DVD.

All in all, this would be a fantastic patch if there was a fix for the new WM2006 part of this patch.

Another problem

I'd just like to point out another mistake in the latest update.

The Arsenal home kit isn't right. The o2 sign and the Arsenal logo is too far to the right of the shirt but it also looks stretched aswell.

It needs to be fixed.

98% of this patch is excellent but the 2% of errors is really starting to annoy me now. And I've only been playing it for a couple of hours.

nofx, can you please fix these problems (and the problems I described in my previous post). It's really starting to get on my nerves. :angry:

Basic error my friend.

Download all of the first 5 parts of this patch. Then extract them together into one folder.

All you have to do is highlight all of the 5 parts, right click and choose "Extract files", then click "Ok".

NOTE: At this point, make sure you select a folder like My Documents or the C:\ drive to put the original RAR patch files otherwise you might get some recurring folders which Windows does not like.

WinRAR should now extract "PPF1.PPF" and "PPF2.PPF" into one single folder of your choice.

you should use OF that comes with update_241205 to fix player names for togo, ghana, fifa allstars..., but major problems are dutch national team kits, team names from Spain and Italy (AC Mailand should be AC Milan, Real San Sebastian-Real Sociedad) and Drogba's national team should be Cote d' Ivore.

I had the same problem for ac milan kits too! Delete your old option file and download the one that comes with update_241205.

Yeah, that's right. There's one huge PPF file (1 Gb+) and a smaller PPF file (around 400-500 Mb) after you finish extracting the first 5 parts of this patch.

Apply PPF1.PPF first, then PPF2.PPF afterwards.

I can only think that the reason as to why the symbol is blanked out is probably because you haven't created a filename for your ISO image which will allow DVD Decrypter to read the disc and copy it to your hard drive.

Make sure you click on the folder icon in the "Destination" field box and then choose a drive or a folder to save your ISO image. Then type in something like "PES5_ORIGINAL.ISO" in the same dialog box to acknowledge the changes. You should now be able to click on the DVD > HDD icon.

load ya of cd click R1 on ya joypad move down to cdfs and press X ...you`ll see the contents come up....move down to .npo and press triangle....now just wait for it to load onto ya memory card....you`ll get confirmation wen its done

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask here.

EDIT: I copied the option file to my Memory card and I now have the UEFA and FIFA all stars as well as the correct rosters for Angola, Togo etc. But, the kit transparency is still there for the Man Utd away shirt and for the Angola home shorts.
