I've had the fortune of playing PES6 on both the xbox360 and PS2. I personally think it (PS2 version) is great, a vast improvement from PES5. There's more options, stadiums (including the bernabeu), balls, licenced teams, etc.. And hey, there are even some supporters in the stadium now!
I can't help but think that the producers of this game try and implement the pace of the Primera Liga into this football simulation, which is by no means a bad thing as I love La Liga. I am referring to the way that they build up possesion from the back and then split the oppositions defence with slick, short and quick passes around the 18 yard box. However the cruyff turn seems to be a little slower and rigid to execute compared to previous versions, but that's my only criticism of the PS2 version so far.
I played the 360 version first and I have no idea what has happened.
- The gameplay seems to be slower, the shooting is terrible (the ball always rises)
- snow is not available in the weather conditions
- there is no individual game records at the end of the match
- the edit mode has been limited to the players ability and age only. You cannot edit the players appearance, teams, boots, stadiums or register / transfer players
- there is a limited choice of stadiums
The only plus is that the graphics are a lot better on the 360. I imagine Konami did the same thing as they did with PES5 on the psp, a job half done. I really have no idea why they did not make more of an effort on the 360 and utilise the consoles facilities. A shame to say the least.
I purchased the game for £24.77 at Asda on Thursday 26th October. I learned a long time ago not to order the game online...
