READ BEFORE VOTING

Because the admins as a collective group can't sort a thing out these days, voting is going public from the three nominations put forward in a messy fashion so far this month.

Voting should be in recognition of someone as a key member of the forum's life so far be it due to content provided, instigating insightful conversation, work put in or making you laugh.

Clearly unfair to Flipper the Priest as a lot of you won't know who he is so I'd suggest checking out some of his old posts before voting.

As this hasn't been made clear in public, there will be one addition on October 1 (that you're voting for here), one on November 1, one on December 1 and one on January 1, 2010. After that, no more are planned until the end of 2010.

And no, I did not nominate myself.

Current members of it are: Alvin, Badgerman, GFK, Hitmanuk2k, Martin_Cranie, Paul B, Pig and Zygalski.

Don Sweey's done so much for the forum, can't think how much time he must've sacrificied to keep this place up to shape, and he's done a good job as Administrator, keeping the forum tidy and trouble-free. A real servant to the place.

For those reasons my vote goes to him.

Don Sweey gets my vote. He's put in a lot of work to keep this site running smoothly, so he certainly deserves a place in the Hall of Fame imo.

Also, are we allowed to nominate members for the next induction vote, or is that an admin-only privilege?

You can give it a go. The admin group didn't do so well which is why this has been brought into the public. Two per user in a different thread and for everyone to acknowledge that nominations for people who clearly shouldn't be involved in this at such an early stage (we all know what I mean) will be ignored which I don't consider unfair at all.

The veterans group became absolutely ridiculous and that is not going to happen with the HoF which is why there will be about two inductions per year after December.

It also needs to be noted that there are plenty of quality old members not in the HoF who may deserve to be recognised ahead of current members. As I said in the first post, members who have contributed to the forum during its years in existence, not just in the last two years or so.

I blame Hunter, Barry and Miggy for being lazy bastards and not being able to read posts properly :doh:. Putting the HoF vote to the public is asking for trouble.

My vote after more thinking goes to Sweey, all of the above have been around for a long time and contributed well, but Sweey has done an amazing job this last year or so to really help this place.

Flipper the Priest for me, thinking of the name just makes me laugh. A cracking sense of humour, I guess you'd have to have one to support Aberdeen.
