Still, he won't reach Messi/Ronaldo quality will he? He's probably got 1 more season worth of development left.
Already peaking

I miss the good ol' days when any developing player could get insanely good, like 90s and 95s on all attributes.
Annoyed yesterday because my GK didn't get his big stats boost. Kept 3 clean sheets in a row, made a few saves, but because I didn't actually have that many shots against, he only managed a 6.0 in these matches. Stupid bloody system!
I had the same problem, but on a whim, played De Gea as a striker against an easy team and he scored! Next game, he went to a 94!
The other thing that strikes me as odd, is that some players with terrible stats are actually BETTER than ones with higher ones. For example, a young John Terry with 72 OVR is better than de vrij who is an 89. Young Gerrard is a 77 and is better than William (85 still developing) and Kondrogbia (89 still developing). Both Gerrard and Terry make amazing tackles that even Varane at 94 has a tough time making. Both have bad stats, but play like champions.
And yes, Gerrard is amazing, one of the best midfielders in the game, even when he's 16. I've never tried Terry because he seemed to slow, but I'm willing to do it now
Terry is slow as balls, BUT his ass always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
I'm currently trying Phil Jones...
That's all I need to know. I'll give him a chance, and proven he isn't as dumb as Distin he might stay in the squad.
I've considered him too when I bought Varane. Even made an excel file with a bunch of useless numbers to compare those two and Sakho for the Cirrhosis Lake FC, only to find they were very similar, but Varane was better and cheper and younger and better. Yes, I said it twice.
Matt James got the cutscene. I played him in FOUR straight matches only to be told after the fifth match that it wasn't on the cards. Broken fucking mechanic.
When a player gets the red development arrow and gets the chance to increase in overall rating, does how well they play in the match determine how much they increase..?
For example I have just had a development increase in Goretzka. He played the match well, scored a goal and got a post match rating of 7.5, he went up from 77 OR to 80 OR - not bad. I was wondering if he had scored a hat-trick, and had a 8.0 man of the match rating if he would have risen more from 77 OR to 82/83 OR?
