It's more a case of; he annoys me and I wouldn't have to see a lot of his posts if he joins the 360 crew :agree:

Hard but it's fair, sad but it's true.

Sorry but I know this sounds like such a n00b question, but how much better is the Playstation 3 with 60 Gb Hard Drive compared to the 40 Gb Hard Drive ?? Its only an extra 70 euro for the 60 one

I thought it would go more the other way actually, which was my reason for buying it. And because I thought that they were going to be an instant massive success and I wouldn't be able to get one by the time PES came out.

Bad move. But at least I have one!

It doesn't matter how popular the PS2 was or the Playstation series was because the PS3 was never going to sell out upon launch simply because the average gamer can't afford to fork out £425 for a games console.

These days, successful games consoles usually have a lifespan of about 5 years.

So if you paid £425 for a PS3, then in theory you end paying £85 every year of the 5 year life cycle until the next gen console comes out. If you paid £200 then you only end up paying £40 per year to use it. Can you see where I'm coming from?

The 40Gb PS3 does not have any SD/MMC Card Reader/Writer, has only 2 USB ports and it does not have any backwards compatability with PS1 and PS2 games.

In my honest opinion, it's not worth saving £50 just so you can lose all of the features I just named. I'm not in the least bit tempted to go for the 40GB PS3 even though it's cheaper than the 60Gb PS3.

I think I'm gonna continue to wait for the price of the 60Gb PS3 to drop even further before I think about buying it. There is almost certainly going to be another price drop this time next year.

But if there is no price drop this time next year, then my guess is that the PS3 price will drop again only once Microsoft releases the 120Gb Xbox 360 Elite.

I've got 42" LCDs so all I need is a HDMI cable & longer Ethernet network cables.

Anyone know a site with a good guide in case retardation sets in?

I have mine hard wired through ethernet, all I did when I first got it was plugged it in and it worked online instantly. No set up required.

The HDMI cable goes from the back of the console into the back of the tv...

I'm sure you'll manage.

Don't you a ethernet cable just connect wirelessly, unless you have cable internet?

Original?

I cannot understand this but I'll guess.

I have a wireless router. Are you saying the PS3 has a wireless thingymebobby?

Edit: It does! Less wires cool!

Except the wireless will be slower than hardwiring the connection, so if you can, do the latter.
