It's the principle. Preowned media, whether it's shops, ebay or carboots is an industry in it's own right. Who gives them the right to destroy that for the sake of greed? It's absolutely detestable.

Seeing as they are the content creators, they have the right to distribute their content as they see fit, probably as much a right as I do to sell any of my belongings, so it's a real grey area.

Fact is, I can't sell on any of my PSN content, so as soon as everything moves to Digital Distribution, the pre-owned market will slowly disappear.

It works with Steam and Apple App Store/Google Play and there are no complaints about not being able to resell games on either of those stores, it's only a matter of time before consoles do the same.

It's alright with Steam because nobody bats an eyelid if you've wasted a fiver on a game that you don't like.

The only way I can comprehend the removal of the second-hand market is if Microsoft (and Sony) come up with some really fucking good prices on games akin to the Steam sales. And looking at a lot of the prices on PSN, that just isn't going to happen - £50/£60 for a new release? Get the fuck out.

Just think how many people will be reluctant to pay £40 for a game they can't trade-in. The likes of GTA and Call of Duty will be absolutely fine, but imagine how iffy people will be over a new IP.

you're assuming the ps4 and next xbox will be easily hackable. I know the ps3 has been hacked but know barely anyone who actually has done it in real life.

Once people are tied into exorbitant prices, it will become financially viable. As for them being easily hackable, I personally think that the next Xbox will be compromised in a similar manner to the 360.
