I uninstalled PES and reinstalled it again but get the same problem. It really doesnt detract too much from the game so Im not worried about it but if you do know why it is doing it, it would be good to know.
Aha, I just changed it to 4:3 and now it is in the right place - Thanks for your help. Now that is what happens when you misread the instructions. I didnt notice the bit about moving the 16:9 folder and now I have done that I can play in 16:9 with the scores in the right place. Great patch this and great help. Thanks.

i havent played it yet but
i've got a problem
when im importing the files lots of them say file xxxxxx not found
is this ok or its going to make the patch worse than it should be??
also in the kitserver i havent got any kits folder just the original kitserver without kits, stadiums, or faces:/
edit: okay fixed both and u made a mistake in the instalation
when u install the update dont delete the kitserver folder
but now i got another problem
the space where it says the score is all white as well as the other one where the espn logo should be i think
i installed it on a fresh game
what can i do??

delete old kitsever install the new one. some people said it something to do with the 4:3 16:9 setting in start menu settings for the game, i have mine on 4:3 and it works fine.

there are no KITS
just the same old ones (as in the stock PES)
FOR EG - in case of Manchester Utd
The Manu;s badge appear on the shirt but No AIG
i mean no sponsor mark...
i have tried thrice
and followed the steps (Fkuyt's patch work fine for me but not this one)

are you sure you have copy all the files with AFS Explorer

OK, finally figured it out, after sevral more tries. Where I was going wrong, and I guess where Wunderkind also went wrong, was that in the install instructions for those of us using 16:9 it said the following...
If you using 16:9 screen mode – copy cv_0 folder from Add-ons/16-9/ to PES 2008 Patch Install/ before installing. Which was a bit misleading, it really should say something along the lines of 'copy the contents from cv_0 folder from Add-ons/16-9/ to PES 2008 Patch Install/cv_0 folder' .....
I am not saying this to be critical in any way, just in the hope it may help others like myself and Wunderkind from making the same mistake.
Now that I have it sorted, I have to say, WOW, the patch is fantastic, and many, many thanks to all involved. Had the game for ages allready but it just wouldn't play well enough on my old pc, so only now started to be able to play it, and now with the inclusion of this patch, I am chuffed to bits with the game

Did you install it in another language? It would be fine installing it under rv_g, rv_s, rv_u, rv_etc.img

thanks for the patch, what i am wondering is, where's the option file that you need to replace? i mean after i have done all all the cv stuff, shouldn't there be an option file you copy into so that the transfer and kits are accurate? thanks

Just tried to reinstall the game and patch today after a new Vista install. Tried several times now and seemed to keep hitting problems with the user accounts control. Now what I get is the patch almost working perfectly, but the team badges/logos are missing from the team selection pages.
All kits are fine, player editing is fine, and the team badges/logos do actually appear in the scoreboard and on the teams strips.
If i do a full uninstall of the patch and the game itself, there seems to still be something lying around on my pc, so that when I reinstall the game without the patch, the controllers are still displaying as the playstation controller and not the xbox 360 controller. None of these things are really hugely important, but it's still kinda bugging me that I can't get it 100% right.
Can anyone tell me if there is anything in the regedit I need to delete after I uninstall the patch and game, so that when I go to reinstall again, I am doing so on a completely blank canvas?

Ah well, never mind, after reinstalling and uninstalling several times, and almost pulling out my hair, I realised all I needed to do was select 'Run As Adminstrator' rather than just launch the game in the normal way. Don't quite understand why, as I had the game and patch installed on Vista previously and never had to go thru any of that.
1 thing that got me a little vexed tho, was that this time, whenever i tried to save the new cv_0, cv_1 and rv_e files into the img folder, they just would not appear. It went thru all the motions as normal, rebuilding etc, but once I tried to locate the new .img's to rename them, they just were not there. Vista search tool would show them as being in the img folder, but they were not. In the end I had to go and install the game and patch onto the pc downstairs that has XP on it, then copy the whole directory and replaced the one that was on my vista pc.
But all is sorted again and back to being happy
