How about actually trying to play without the router in there? My pals PS3 is running fine and dandy online with PES 09. No to mention countelss people on PS3/PC dont have there systems configured properly for online play, and yet blame the game for there own failings. He does get lag but its a minor occurance, like the ball will move a fraction further than expected, or a player moves a bit slower for a fraction.

The reason for the ID logon is simple, its a universal system across all platforms of the game. That means its easier and simpler to code than individually tailored login systems. And it also means Komani have more control over logins, allowing them to block individuals on any platform that are deemed to break the ToS and require such actions.

And how is it "typical" konami? Only LAST years game was bad online, previous ones were fine. I participated in the PES 4/5 PC league without any troubles.

Again define how it is "poor" in comparison to any other multiple platform game when first released?

Plus no I am not a "die hard fan", im just pragmatic and a realist.

i'm a die hard fan of Pro Evo. its just so frustrating.

oh and without using my router - i could be sat there for a while with nothing happening!:fplm:

i've used auto, i've set the ports up - still bad. the lag is as poor as the gameplay online. sorry guys, dont hammer me i love pro evo games......when they work.

Not hammering you m8 just countering your arguments. If you having trouble with the game fair enough, but dont be so quick to assume its the game at fault. Ive seen thousands of people complain that many other games wont work online only to then find out they have a BT homehub which has a built in unconfigurable firewall/router. Similarly many ISP's will shape or throttle connections that are in use, regardless of what its actually doing. There are a number of factors that need to be taken in to account with gaming online, it just seems that a lot of people dont bother with or overlook these aspects.

fair enough. my expectations are probably too high after only playing Pro Evo on the PS2. its just the gameplay online and single player are not as good as before and on a next gen console that shouldn't be the case. and after the hassle with PES2008, MGS Demo, and online MGS i just think Konami are out of their depth with online games.

Okay firstly I would like to apologies if I replied to the wrong thread as I think there are 3 threads about 1.20? So I just would like to ask a few questions here..

If I update the patch 1.20 on my PS3, will it affect anything else except for the team rosters, team jerseys, players and all the editing stuffs? If it doesn't, then should I even download the patch? I got a great OF from one of you guys here and I don't wish to change it.

Unless the update improves graphics, gameplay and online, do you think it's worth it to update? Also I'm not pretty sure about whether the patch will erase our OF?

Sorry if all my questions has been raised in any of the threads here.

It didn't affect rosters, jerseys and players. it works like this: for example imagine you edit Ronaldo's stats, and the patch brings Berbatov for ManU, Ronaldo's stats stay the way you edited them, unless the patch was supposed to change something on Ronaldo.

So as long the patch doesnt mess with anything but transfers and getting more official teams, everything stays the same

So I don't think I should update the patch then since the gameplay and graphics would be the same??

Will it affect my online play then? Say if my update and another guy update is different, we can't play?

Eventually everyone has to update to play online, the released patch was a mistake by Konami, it wasn't ready thats why people who updated can only play online with people who also updated.

These updates will allow to play online with up do date rosters so its obvious you should update when it's ready

Okay thanks alot :D that clarify my doubts..

hopefully the OF I got won't be erased!!

I managed to get 1.20
i can tell you this
-created players go back into the created player list and get replaced, by konamis player.ie:say you created berbatov (i know you wouldnt need to just ex) for manu when you update to new patch, your berb will go into the created player list and in manu will be the new berbatov. you wont in theory lose your created players, they will just get moved.
-if you delete the system data file you will lose you track record
-it doesnt affect edited kits.unless you did kits for ath/sev/rac/val the 4 spanish teams konami jst licensed.emblems also stay unless you changed those 4
-all transfers in game will be changed to konamis database.
-you have no choice but to apply the update to your file when it comes out 5/11. unless you just dont update the game to 1.20.
-theyve updated the list for selected teams in CL mode, just added more from the game. NOT extra Cl teams.
-they are NO 3rd kits for any teams. just that Liv and manu have alternative kits for CL mode.
manu -white sock for home and all blue for away.liv -green away kit

proof that update dont mess with option files look at emblems this is my OF before update 1.20 and i didnt create any players
