I know this has probably been posted somewhere else, but can anyone tell me is there a way to stop the dreadful slowdown on the ps3 version of pes 2008.??? I had it on the 360 but decided to get a ps3, and after reading reviews with people saying " the slowdown doesnt ruin the game" well what crap that is, its awful and im gutted as i stupidly thought id get the ps3 as i could get all the kits etc. So maybe someones got a suggestion of how i can improve it somehow??

I must say, I hardly notice it any more.

Yeah, you can still see that the slowdown lets it down, but the fact I was thinking "what the hell has happened here" when I bought it, shows I've changed my mind a little.

From playing it, I know playing my Home games at the Estadio Dragao (I think that's what it's called) or the Stade Louis II helps...they're the two grounds what I've found the least slowdown on.

I've heard some people say about turning off commentary will help, but I've tried that and it didn't seem to really work for me.

Make sure you do the partial install to the HD. The patch released a couple of months ago also helps immensly, although you can only d/l via the PS3 (it's should work automatically when you start the game with a live internet connection.

As well as the stadium change Baddar mentioned, turning off the stadium effects can also help. Some people claim the different camera distances have an effect, but i've not really noticed any difference.

Can't remember where it is exactly, but look through the menu's, it's there somewhere! (I've reverted to PES6 so haven't looked at 2008's menus for a while!)

As for the patch, you need to be connected to the net via your PS3, start the game & it should automatically advise you of the update. This is the only route.

Yeah, the patch totally sorted out my version. I was just as upset as you when I originally got my copy. Very disappointing.

Works a treat now. Great on multiplayer, but not much else unfortunately
