First of all, on release Sony had 7 games that were exclusive to PS3, incluidng Resitance Fall Of Man (Which in my personal opionion) is one of the best games on the market. Again it is down to personal opinion, but look at the facts. 2 days after PS3 launched, Microsoft announced they would be releasing a modern version of the 360 with a larger hard drive to "compete with other consoles on the market". The first natch of 360 games offered nothing really memorable. It was only the second wave of games which started to look good. And even then there were some noteable problems. Now, its comparing a system that has already gone through the trial and error stage. The first wave of PS1 and PS2 games were nothing memorable, inclduing ISS! Also, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5 are all games that may eventually come ouit for other consoles, but are originally just for PS3.
My second point is regarding the price of the console. If you go out 10 nights a month, and spend approximatly £20 a night (which i know is a cheap night for alot of people) you can have bought the PS3 in 2 months. Which is an investment. Take of it being used as a PC is not correct. My PC is used to do work on, and browse the Net, my PS3 is used for games, playing against people, listening to music and watching DVDs. Again, because Sony have added some optional features such as an Internet Browser and USB Keyboard/Mouse compatability, its trying to be something its not!
As i have said i have am a PS fan. I owned the PS1 and PS2 and have a PSP aswell. But i was very tempted to purchase an 360 at Christmas, but having played for many hours on my mates one (which he has now sold) i decided they were not that great. And from my opinion (which again, is all it is, an opinion) PS3 will outlast X Box the same way sony have seen off the Saturn, N64, X Box Oringinal, Gamecube and Wii.
