Hey!
So, I've been preparing to make my 2nd portuguese league on PES 2020 (PS4), and I've noticed that many "free agent" players that I could find on PESMaster's database weren't on the game (removed on updates?). However, after some time messing around with SMcCutcheon Tool, I think I have found out a way to recover them.
I'm sure that I'm not the first one doing something like this (after all, it was probably with a method like this that we have files for the MyClub Legends and all of that) but I still thought it would be worth discussing this here, just in case anyone has a better method or wants to do the same on their projects.
So, this is what I did:
- Exported a team (I did it with WE United, but should work with other teams as well) and copied it to the PC.
- On PC, I decrypted it with Panos tool (avaiable on Evo-web) and opened it on SMcCutcheon's tool (also avaiable on Evo-web).
- Went to PESMaster website and searched for the player I wanted to add. The one I used to test this was Barnes Osei (https://www.pesmaster.com/b-osei/pes-2020/player/60873/).
- Copied the ID of the player, which you can see on the URL of the PESMaster webpage (in this case, 60873).
- Went back to SMcCutcheon's tool, chose a player from that team, and replace the ID with the ID from B. Osei (60873). Didn't touch name, stats or anything else.
- Saved the .ted, and encrypted it again. Then copied to the USB flash drive.
- Went back to PS4, imported the modified .ted file (ticked the 2nd box, the one that says something about player data). Then, went to the team (WE United in this case), went to the player I modified and pressed triangle to reset it. And here it was, the player with all it's stats, face, details, etc.
- Then I re-imported the original .ted file (the one I exported in the beginning, unmodified). The team (WE United) was back to normal, and the player I wanted to add was now in free agents, ready to be put in any team I wanted.
EDIT: alternative method by Buckshot/Neymarinho:
With this method you have to manually add some players to a team before exporting, but it has the advantage that you don't need to re-import the original team afterwards (like I did on the first method).
- Add some created players or fake/free agent players to a team (as many as the number of "hidden" players you want to add) and then export that team.
- On PC, decrypt it with Panos tool (avaiable on Evo-web) and open it on SMcCutcheon's tool (also avaiable on Evo-web).
- Go to PESMaster website and search for the player you want to add. Copy the ID (you can see it on URL of the PESMaster webpage).
- Go back to SMcCutcheon tool, replace the ID of a fake/created player you added to that team with the ID of the player you want to add. (Repeat for all the players you want to add)
- Save the .ted, encrypt it again and copy it to the USB flash drive.
- Go back to the PS4, import the .ted you just edited (don't forget to tick 2nd box to apply player data).
- Navigate to the team, then reset the player(s) (if it's a created player I don't know if you still have to reset). Then, on the "Transfers" menu, remove the player from the team to send it to free agents, or transfer it to another team if you want. The (formerly) hidden player has been added into the game; the fake player you used to replace the ID will still be in free agents and the team you used will still be on it's original state, since you didn't touch any of it's players (so, no need to re-import the original .ted file).
Those methods seems to work well, but I still haven't tested actually playing in Master League or anything like that. But my guess is that it will be fine.
Anyone has a better or easier method? Or has anyone tried doing this? Any known problems this might cause in game?
Thanks a lot, I hope this can be useful
