PSM3 PES 6 Reveiw

Guys I have just got tomorrows PSM3 magazine which has the PES6 Review. I cant remeber if it was here or PESFAN but someone was asking if the Bundasliga was Licensed. Well I can confirm it isnt along with Chelsea not being licensed either. The reveiw goes onto say how the gameplay is alot slower to WE10. They add that the passing movements feel alot crisper than FIFA 07. They say that off the ball movement is alot better and more fluid but this depends on your players ability.

Shooting is more responsive but is relative to the ability of your player. Basically they go on to say how PES 6 seem like you have to learn how to the make the best out of the top players you have. They say the game can at time descend inot gritty midfield battles.

One of the new little touchs in the games is what they call the 360 foul. Basically they give the example of Walcott who has 93+ speed and acceleration ratings and say if he slams into a powerhouse defender say Lucio he'll either stop dead or if the angle is right get spun 360 degress possibly recovering the ball on the way past. They say players with great technique and immense acceleration i.e Henry or Ronaldo can fool a player with a snap change of pace or roar past unchallenged. Moderate players can not do this as easily adn that you have to work it to you better players to be able to dribble through defences or streak down the flanks.

With shooting they say it is similar to PES 5 in that your body shape has to be correct and timing is critical. The amount of long rangers has been scaled back as the defnece close you down quicker so you are forced to work it into the box BUT you can still score form range.

Defending is said to be more fun as top defenders like Puyol will get to the right place at the right time mopping up lose balls and smashing weaker players off the ball in the tackle but it is easier to pull defenders out of postion as there is less computer assistance. Keepers are erratic but not as bad as WE10 and they are more athletic pulling off blinding saves. The force field effect is still present on crosses. The master league does not have many changes but is still as addictive as ever.

They add it terms of presentation FIFA may just edge it in those stakes with Licenses etc.(TEHRE IS AN EXTENSIVE LICENSING MODE)

They close by saying although this has the least improvements of all the series this is the best PES 6 game better than the XBOX 360 version(Compared to the early code verison of the game they played) it scored 91

There you have it folks:w00t

OPS2M will have at least an 8 page spread on the review IMO, pes4 had a 10 page spread, n pes5 had an 8 page spread.

From a Playstation Mag it doesn't sound at all convincing.

The one thing that will make the PS2 version better than the 360 version is the controller. Its as simple as that. It doesnt matter that much about graphics as we all know its about gameplay, and the controller believe it or not is a part of gameplay. If it wasnt about gameplay we'd all be playing FIFA (oh and FIFA is still crap, including the 360 version, same old FIFA gameplay). But if your better with a 360 controller then disregard what im sayin but i bet most people will agree with me that the PS2 controller is perfect to play PES, including SEABASS himself.

But why exactly is it perfect?
I'm sure they stopped makin trainers and changed to rollerblades then in 5 yrs time we would struggle doin things in trainers cos we were so used to wearin rollerblades (not the best example for my point i know but u get my drift) playstation controllers are only seen as the best for evo cos they're the longest servin controller for the game so more people are used to them.
I'm personally switchin to xbox 360 for evo6, as ps3 is gonna be over priced and over hyped, and i know i'm gonna struggle gettin used to the controller for a month or two but as any good gamer will tell u, u adapt, over the years i've switched controllers many times; from joystick on amiga, to sega mega drive controller, to snes controller, to sega saturn controller, to playstation one and 2 controller and i've hated the new controller everytime but i'm theres one thing i'm positive on its that in a month or two i will be back to playin as good as i ever was and it'll be like the 360 controller is all i've ever known. so for anyone to say one system is better than the other because of a controller is bs cos as gamers we adapt with the times and developers new designs.
Fact: the 360 pes6 will be better than ps2, it's a better console and will play the game better and it will certainly look better, will the 360 version be better than ps3 version? i don't know, maybe not since sony are puttin it out a year after the 360 and they'll probably have some better things in it.

it's true.. I've played all the pes games on ps 1 and ps 2 untill pes 5 that I played on my xbox. It was hard at first getting used to the xbox, and even harder to get used to on the 360(because of the new shoulder buttons)
But now I feel I can master the game with the 360 controller, I even use the "directional pad" too

I've played the old PES5 pc demo with the 360 controller and whilst it feels odd at first after playing PES for 5yrs with a PS2 controller, it doesn't take long to adapt.

To say that a game will better or worse because of the peripheral that controls it - especially given that they are fundamentally the same - is naive beyond belief.

From what I've seen of the gameplay videos, the 360 version does look like an evolution from the PS2 version. The core will be the same but I can gaurantee that the 360 version will play a lot 'truer'.

What a bunch of bollocks...

After seeing the new 360 version video, the game looks amazing.

Gameplay looks different to PS2 version... Ball hangs in the air more and looks a lot more realistic...

The fact that a game is in widescreen craps all over last gen PES 6 and PSM can write whatever they like...

Controller wise, that is simply individual thing and what you got used to... I can't play PES with PS2 controller anymore...

Taken from link above

Q: PS2 was the lead platform for Winning Eleven/PES. It was basically your bread and butter and where you sold millions of copies of games. What do you think your lead platform is going to be in the future?

Seabass: It was a natural flow from our development from PS1 to PS2 and it’s a natural flow to understand that it’s going to be PS3. But with the 360 version in development and its going to be out this fall (in Europe) this natural flow might not be the natural flow in the future.

We still think that the PC, 360, PS3, and Wii considered as next gen, we will not differentiate or create specifically for those. Our goal is to create something in the center and then spread out where the audience is. However, frankly speaking, with controller matching the best controller that matches our game is the PlayStation controller. In that sense PS3 is definitely going to be a good match in terms of play feeling and control, but even so I am trying to adjust control feel so you will have no awkward feeling in all platforms if we bring them out.

I know you have read this interview mate so you must of forgotten its content. So you see the the controller does have bearing however the over rider is simply preference, I do not want to change as I do not have to. We have all changed controllers as the platforms got better and demand grew for better more advanced controllers but as the X360 and the PS3 will practically be the same, ability wise at least, again it only comes down to preference. its not like anybody is saying I am not going next gen because of the controller, only that they are waiting until the release of the PS3 (whenever that will be), what is wrong with that?

I just bought this magazine today, is it true that the Bundesliga is not only unlicensed, but has been removed completely from the game and that Bayern Munich are the only German team? Or have PSM3 just not worded the article very well?

This would piss me off big time, as Bayer Leverkusen are my second team, and teams like Bremen, Dortmund, Schalke 04 and Hamburg should be in the game.

It seems like Konami have taken one step forward (Licensed Ligue 1) and two steps back (No Germean league whatsoever!?!)

Can someone please give us the definitive answer on the Bundesliga?
