^In we 10 demo the more you play it the better you become aswell and you missed the point about defenders AI.
Ok well obviously we cant discuss this without people complaining they are being forced upon so i'll but out.

Must have missed the bits about wanting two good games as opposed to one. I just want a game worthy of next gen.

Enjoy pes10, you reap what you sow.

And Gun runner i wouldnt bother, bunch of sensitive souls in here who will listen as long as your views fit with theirs for the most part.

ttfn :)

I was trying to be fair unlike you.

fifa is hard to score and easy to conceed with cpu attacking.
pes is realistic gameplay....when u are behind by 3-0 u can push up to draw and win....that the realistic.....depend on ur strategy and ball controlling.
pes is the best football game i ever play. pes is a place of creativity!!!!!

i don't think coming back from 3-0 down is particualry realistic , its very rare.
In FIFA , when the com is winning by a couple they shut up shop. That makes it tough (and rare) to come back

^That depends on the team and their strategy and coach.
It can happen in reality. Liverpool vs milan in CL for example. I know it's rare but it can happen.

If you go 3-0 up on FIFA and you can't hold on to the lead, you're just shit at the game.

So you expect me to believe that you’re on this site with good intentions? When looking at these ‘intelligent’ and ‘constructive’ posts of yours on this thread you can’t blame me for thinking your just a fifa fan boy with the single goal of demeaning PES and its users for liking it.

“Im sorry but if anyone thinks, 08, 09 or even 10 will be better than anything served up on the ps2 you are seriously deluded.

We've lost the gameplay, the animation, the a.i to a degree, editing options, stadiums, kit changers, licenses and up until this year graphics.”

Sorry mate but this already limp argument of yours falls flat here, because IF you had played the WE demo, and IF you were such a avid footy fan as claim you are, surely you would have been aware that much larger strides than ever before have been made in this years installment. By no means am I claiming that the game will be perfect and will unquestionably be better than Fifa, but it’s going to be no way near as bad as you say it will be. Not only that, but your list of points on what Konami have lost is anything but the truth, and surely makes you the one who is ‘deluded’ for thinking that. (I love that word)

When you say all you want is a decent football game, and you need to stick the knife in to Konami, is this quote expected to be constructive and taken seriously:

“In summary, Pes is easy to play. My grandma can play it. Fifa (on manual) isnt and most people would give up after 5 minutes and assisted is useless.”

Do you think that this comment will alert Konami of there faults, and that you hold so many valid points that they’ll refer to you when making their next installments? Or is it just simply ‘putting the knife in’ as you so eloquently and cleverly put it?

“bunch of sensitive souls in here who will listen as long as your views fit with theirs for the most part.”

This quote is so horrendously hypocritical that my estimation of you has sunk to even greater depths. Reap what you sow and all that, yeh?

Now I’m sure you’re still going to complain and deny whole heartedly that everything i have stated about you is false, but I’m not expecting you to concede. So go right ahead mate.

As Shaun said, it is about being understanding and reasonable whilst in a discussion, so you can’t blame people thinking you’re a bit of a twat because of the way your write. The majority of people on here acknowledges and accepts that Fifa has improved a lot and they are more than happy to discuss both games in a constructive manner.

Trust me, its nothing to do with sensitivity, more annoyance. The amount of transparent guys like you who come on this forum with their stubborn and immovable views are pitiful (Techskill being the primary culprit) and it makes me question why these guys feel they need to resort to this, even though I can hazard a few guesses. The reason I’m acting like I am is because I just feel compelled to shoot down people like you, successfully may I add, because that’s what YOUR goal was from the start.

So apologies to anyone (apart from Ant) who might have read this essay because of the ridiculous length of it.

Why does everyone that says something against pes always says about the passing being assisted and the AI decides for you?
The answer is no. The direction is decided by you and by the footballer's passing ability. That's accurate enough for individuality.

thing is....you can be running in a set direction, a good pass all laid out in front of you... you keep holding that direction and instead of passing it straight in front to the wide open player, your guy can suddenly cut an angled pass, straight to their defender. leaving you very *miffed* for want of a better word.

this happens a lot, i hold a specific direction make sure the player is on his best foot to make the pass and often (id say maybe 1 in 3) go to completely the wrong man.

PES should have a passive light up indicator so that when u are running in a direction it hovers over WHO it would pass to if u were to press pass at that instant. currently its pretty bad in terms of random 'mis passes'

sorry but it is:/

Only read to page 3 in this but I've read the same things in 100 other threads.

Just thought I'd drop in a few things.

1. FIFA has come on so much in the last few years, the freedom of movement/dribbling etc you have is totally unmatched in PES.

2. Judging from the PES 2010 demo, the only good thing I got from it was the shooting.

C'mon, surely somebody will agree with me that the players' movement is ridiculous? It looks as if they're on rails & can only turn in 90 degree angles...plus the trick stick FIFA has is very useful.
i iwll agree with you, PES's shooting is unrivalled in FIFA but its not enough to warrant a good review because judging by the demo (really cant see much changing) FIFA walks on it everywhere else. so far 3 of my mates, included me, have got FIFA and are still enjoying it, wether PES can change this remains to be seen.

I think the problem with PES is you can put pretty much every game since the ps2 next to each other and other than graphical changes and the odd animations/skill moves the difference is ridiculously little in terms of gameplay.

oh and to the post above i think i know what your talking about, sometimes when your in a crossing position even if you try to cut it back to the edge of the area for a smash shot or even to the player behind you on the wing they seem to automatically go for a cheap cut back tap in.

People who say pes is crap havent played it enough to warrant that statement... Unlike fifa, pes takes a while to get into. BUT when you do OMG its amazing! So much more like real football, the emotion, creativity, random situations like in the real game, the feeling of scoring a goal that has always been in pes is soooooo good!

Fifa has better animations and features but doesnt compare to pes gameplay.

^Creativity is a really good thing in we 10 demo.:) Takes time to get used to.

I never said it isn't. Yes I know random passes do happen, but at least alot less than pes 08 and 09. Like ps2 versions sort of.
I also want passing direction to be better, but as I said, it's not because it's assisted. It;s because it doesn't have a power meter. That way you can indicate to who you're gonna pass and the the accuracy of the pass should also depend on how well the player can pass. So all pes is missing atm is a power meter in passing.

i agree and going on a lot of the review scores today some of the reviewers just havent clicked with pes2010,it takes about two weeks even for a real die-hard hardcore pes player to really understand and appreciate the subtelty of pes2010...and this sadly is its problem its one of those games that will only be appreciated in the months to come not after a couple of weeks play.

Fifa is more instantly gratifying this year but needless to say its a 8/10 at best and thats being generous.

My first pes i played was pes 2. My brother got it and i couldnt get into it at first took me ages but fifa was so bad that year that i didnt have anything else so i kept playing then i got it and havnt looked back, defo takes a while and the reviewers will have played it for what a week at most or maybe just a day who knows. I was addicted up till 6! think pes 5 was my fav.

The only review that matters is our own.

Mate you cant talk anything you like if it makes you feel better.

You have missed the whole point of the arguement. Its not about being better than last year because quite frankly it couldnt get any worse.

As for your opinion of me i couldnt give a toss. i've gave you my opinion, ive filled you in on my background.

The bottom line is you are all sensitive. Even now all the reviews are rolling in people are dismissing them, they simply dont want to be told the truth. its nothing to do with time spent with the game, theres no hidden depths. Over time anyone could get used to a game it doesnt mean that its good as a result.

If you want it buy it, if you enjoy it, enjoy it. Just dont expect some of us to tow the party line when you pay high prices for games and high prices for the latest consoles, just dont disrespect that, or come up with any nonsense about not 'feeling' the game.

^But you are wrong on 1 thing.
Pes had some bad reviews, but it had good reviews aswell and it got more good ones than bad ones so far. So what truth is that?
Also if you truly have played pes in the past, you would know how much time you had to give it to truly master and appreciate it.

yea but when you have played it for so many years - it doesnt take years to get a feel of the new one, its obvious straight away that its not as good as we all wanted it to be,

Shaun dont insult my intelligence. Theres a whacking great distance between mastering the old pes games with the core sound gameplay intact and unworrying, and having to master this game because its deeply flawed in places and creaking.

They arnt the same thing.

As ive said if you like it buy it and enjoy it. If your happy fine, but im not happy with it and i want a next gen version thats worthy. thats the bottom line from myself.

Some people just don’t understand or simply cannot accept that fifa10 is not that enjoyable, I try to give fifa10 a chance by renting the game, and playing it days and nights, the gameplay is okay, it ain’t that bad, but it’s certainly far inferior to PES gameplay, many people complain that legendary difficulty is very very hard, I don’t think so, after played for a few days, you’ll soon catch up how’s the CPU A.I. responds to your playing skills. After these, you’ll feel extremely bored with the goals that you scored in almost similar situation, and that is one on one with the keeper. So guys, especially to those fifa fans, is not that I don’t want to play fifa10, I tried to enjoy it, but it’s a shame that it just failed, you just cannot force yourself to play the game that you don’t enjoy, isn’t it?

Mike from Indonesia.

I'm agree Mike, I felt the same when playing the new Fifa 10.

I agree with you Ant - maybe if people play it long enough they become desensitised to the flaws rather than recognise supposed "depth"

i loved playing pes 09 i played it too death and i loved playing fifa upto about fifa 08
this years fifa is ok but its lacking durability, the games seem the same over and over
i find in pes every game is totaly different and its more enjoyable and has more replyability!!
fifa 10 might be good but it lacks a soul!!

Thats exactly what it is. Responsiveness broken? Well play it long enough and you dont notice it therefore it feels like theres nothing wrong in the first place.

Tell you what guys, Play Fifa 10 and give it a few months, or a year. You wont notice any of the things that are broken then. ;)
