Got the demo today, it's a pretty solid game, graphics are awesome the only thing I don't like is that you can't move whilst shooting.

Nah you can't it's a gold exclusive thing and it's not out in the UK/US atm, I downloaded it off the internet then burned it to a DVD-RW.

Played this last night, didn't feel Resi Evil honestly, and the control feels really clunky.

Demo for the PS3 was out yesterday.
I have mixed feelings about it.
It's Resi 4 with a new skin, which is good but also bad.

RESI 5

+ Highly detailed graphics, that simply look great

+ Same core gameplay as Resi 4

+ CO-OP has serious potential, the demo proves that it can work online or off. I can just imagine barking orders to grab the ammo behind him.

+ I like the seperate parts between Sheva and Chris, always being together would be annoying

- The single player experience will be let down by having to babysit a CPU Sheva. It's just hinders the gameplay. It doesn't feel as atmospheric with her around.

- The setting does nothing to freshen up the gameplay. It's basically Resi 4 set in Africa. The setting loses all the atmosphere that the previous games held well.

- The sound creates little tension. It trying too hard to be Resi 4

- Enemies are the same as they were in Resi 4. From Animations to movement, it really is a lazy port of it's predecessor.

- The AI is awful, they run at you and then stop to get shot at, you can go through the whole demo running past your enemies. Where are the fearless enemies that run at you at full pelt that were in the first trailer?

- The amount of enemies and the directions the come at you would suggest that you could walk and shoot. Not having this just stagnates what you are supposed to do. Walking and shooting would be perfect. Stopping all the time doesn't work with this amount of enemies.

- You can only slash someone with your knife while standing? WTF, like the shooting but only worse. Renders it useless at times.

Overall setting this game in a zombie style place would have masked the game a whole lot better as a Resi 4 clone.
Resi 4 was so good that it has shown the flaws in what is a decent game.

The game is flawed, however CO-OP will save the game. It seriously works and for that it may just be a must buy.

Isn't it just like the internet to propagate unsubstantiated rumors. The latest such rumor surrounding the upcoming survival horror shooter Resident Evil 5 may have given the game some free publicity, but Capcom has decided that enough is enough. It's squashing the rumor once and for all in its latest community blog post. The "action" controls will not allow you to move and shoot simultaneously. Chris Redfield's testosterone-filled body makes multitasking an impossibility.

"While RE5 is very action-heavy, the base RE game design mechanic of holding fast while shooting remains," says the Capcom blog. Newcomers to the series may need to make some "mental readjustments," but the controls have remained this way to establish a sense of risk and danger while in combat. The new controls will instead grant "more natural motion to the second analog stick on your 360 or PS3 controller," allowing you to strafe. We're sure there are strong advocates for both sides of the argument amongst Resident Evil 5's audience. Maybe not Chris Redfield strong ... but strong.

You summed it up pretty well. Obviously this is just a demo but hopefully the story will help this greatly although I can't see it being much different to Resi 4 with that either.

Something that I kind of miss from the earlier games is the fact you had to be careful how you used ammo. Now they invite you to be trigger happy by throwing you ammo and zombies. It's fun but it's far from scary like the earlier games where you'd make every shot count and be hoping a save point was coming up soon.

You still going to get the game?
Will you be playing alone or with a friend through the story first time around?

I'm unsure, as I know Sheva will really piss me off after a while.

After playing the demo continuesly for the last few days, this game has grown on me, feels intense while standing & shooting, makes you worry tbh.

And for sheva, i can see it already she will make mad i tell ya, should be a blast online co-op or offline co-op.

Can't fucking wait. :D

Played the demo earlier, the first time I've ever sampled a Resident Evil game. I hate having to stand still and shoot, as I always like to approach my enemies to kill them, rather than them charge at me. The chainsaw baghead chap was an absolute nightmare. I managed to get 2 shots at him before legging it around for a minute until he sliced me up. :erm:

It's probably me not being used to the controls, but I always accidentally ended up giving my ammo to Shevchenko leaving with me with a knife and my biceps.
