Amateur has a good idea!

We should totally have a PES forum Champions league!!!

Winner gets the PES champions league trophy!

Second place wins a autographed copy of amateurs "space and football" novel being released later this year.

That sounds cool, home and away games, and nothing but pure competition as the incentive. We could even post the video of each game, so that your next opponent can study your tactics.... too serious?

I would worry about what would happen if I get second place, but nah, I'm too good for second place, so no worries.

Not at all, that might open up a whole new dimension to online play, studying your opponent, man marking and formations, especially in terms of mismatched opponents. I would love to see some PES gaming giant killers.

For some reason I feel more players will be aiming for your novel rather than the trophy. lol

Judging me on one game I didn't take seriously I see

I remember in the 2nd game when I picked a decent team I was dominating possession and oh all so suddenly the connection is lost :hmm:

I wasn't much cop on MLO, everyone canes the arse out of through balls. You can't do that though on PES2012 so it will be interesting to see how those players adapt.

1) It's your fault for not taking it seriously. I take every game seriously. I'm professional afterall.

2) I seem to remember I was winning in the 2nd game and you quit :hmm:

But in all seriousness, I think a PESgaming league would be a good idea. I just hope they sort the connection out, I barely get enough chance to play online as it is!

EDIT: "inadequate team" Sminky? You were Spartak, I was Bolton.... even Stevens . A bad workman blames his tools.

Okay guys, I've dished out some info to some on here regarding the game, now can somebody help me?!?

One on ones - I'm having great difficulty putting these away, the ones where I'm clean through and have a three to five second run in on the goaly. 8/9 out of 10 times the keeper saves it, is this proportion right or should it be lower? Why aren't I converting my one on ones? Do I need better aim, press finesse or something?

It's the only part where I feel I have a lot to improve on.

Advice would be great!

The key to finishing one on ones is variation. If you can time it right try lobbing the keeper with a mini lob just as he goes to ground or pick a corner and hit R2 just after shooting to do a placed shot. Or simply round the keeper by feigning to shoot...

Nope it was 0-0 and I was Benfica. I was attacking your goal when the connection went. I've got 20mb broadband but only PES gives me problems, goddamn Konami servers! *shakes fist*
Oh I'd never blame Spartak, McGeady makes a great centreback ;)

PESGaming comp sounds good, we thinking MLO or exhibition?

You see, I just don't get you guys, if someone disagrees with you and explains why, you laugh at him regardless.... if it's because he prefers FIFA, you laugh at him; if it's because of movement within space, you laugh at him.... basically, you can only hear what you want to hear, which makes you rather pathetic.

I don't want to do a footie game, I have my job to do in my real life; as a long time fan of the series, I'm merely expressing my disappointment with the lack of fundamental process, the fact that you see my honest observations as an excuse to laugh at me is really pathetic.

But whatever, your smiley has really shown me how laughable my observation was, I genuinely feel embarrassed now.....

actually I was kinda being serious... Your ideas aren't crazy, its just that I don't think they're doable in a video game. With all the technology and great graphics and all I think there will always be limitations. I see your points, I remember your long post on how the games both FIFA and PES are based on the ball and not on a free field of play with the ball being one of the elements on that field... I don't remember exactly how you explained it but this "space" post ties into that one. Why wouldn't I want a great footie game? Ofcourse I would! you're ideas should be sent to Konami for their review.. take that as you wish.

Well I seem to remember it being quite early in the game... plenty of time for me to score.

I was actually thinking we could have a community league of some sort. Even if we just set it up on here and play exhibition matches. Have a round of fixtures each week. Basically, you'd arrange a time with your opponent, then create a match room and play your game. To make things fair, each player could be randomly assigned a team to play as each week (it could vary every week to keep things interesting). Obviously, to make things fair, teams should be fairly evenly balanced, and the top top top top top teams [/Harry Redknapp mode] should be excluded.

As sook said, veriation. Though I think the main key to one on ones is patience and composure. If you panic and rush things, you'll likely blow your chance.

I always tend to just give the shoot button a slight tap, very little power, you can give it a nice low and smooth shot into the net if you get the angle and direction correct. Also, I haven't really tried it on this game, but in earlier Pro's when one on one I would aim one direction just as I was clicking shoot and then change it to the opposite direction, sometimes it would wrong foot the keeper and be a beautiful smooth finish, not sure if that explains it properly or if it really works in this, but worth trying. Also, just as you're shooting tap the sprint button if the keeper is charging out, sometimes it does a beautiful finesse chip, rather than the basic chip shot, this one just does a little dink over the on rushing keeper, just inches off of the floor. I think it's the spring button anyway, I did it by luck first time today with Ribery and used to do it quite a bit in '11.

Still, key is patience, composure, direction, angle and power...but you probably already knew that, just keep trying different things man and one will click :D

One week for some people to get the game...I'm seriously jealous.

That makes perfect sense and it is what my friends and I do for our tournaments. We also seed the players against a list of teams and then they randomly pick a team from a cup out of that list (so intermediate players don't get the best picks etc). I got Ghana at the last Tournament, was a bit of a result although their form is appalling.

I agree, simply play exhibition matches, but with us organizing a league schedule ourselves, it sounds simpler.

I don't like the idea of random team assignment, I would prefer it if people just pick whatever team they want to play with. I think teams like Atletico Madrid, Boca Juniors, Tottenham, would be cool; teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid could fuck the balance.

Though, to be honest, how many people would participate in the league? I can see how big teams such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, are more than enough to have a balanced league with big teams. It would also be cool to have smaller teams as well.

Fair point, though we don't want some twats picking Madrid/Barca every game. In PES 2011, I refused to play against/with the big teams. I think the league should be more based on the skill of the player, than the skill of the team. That's why I think random teams would be best. It would mean that players won't just keep picking a team that they know they're good with.

Remaining on topic about the demo.... scored a beastly 30yard free kick with Jelavic

Yeah but considering it would be a league, you would only play against Barcelona and Real Madrid a total of four times at the most. Personally, I prefer to play with/against big team or medium teams, I think below average teams are just boring, not due to lack of skill but becasue it's just more boring in my opinion.

To reiterate the point, we cannot have a league with three Barceona sides and three Real Madrid sides.... one Real Madrid, one Barcelona, one AC Milan, etc, etc. I don't have much of a problem playing against Barcelona one or twice in a season, but I don't want to play them ten times in one season.

Picking a team that you are good with adds to the challenge, which I think it's a good thing, though again, we cannot have three Barcelona sides participating in one league.

I'm already thinking about playing with either Boca Juniors or Atletico Madrid, not close to Barcelona level, but still with players like Riquelme or Diego, it's better or at least more interesting than say QPR or Bolton.
