I was just thinking about this today... I haven't seen this happen once in the game. Does the CPU do it ever?

You can't really tell during gameplay, unless you have a close-up camera view. I dove in the box trying to win a penalty while receiving pressure from the defender, but I got booked. They showed the replay of the dive, and the defender was pulling my shirt, so I was kind of gutted I never got that decision.

I thinks it's just automatic. Cannot remeber seeing the AI doing it, but have seen it a few times on (jerky!) replays.

Incidentally, i haven't seen a foul yet just for shirt pulling....

nah ive never seen or done it yet, gona try later ive had the a.i dive in the box i went mad n said i never touched him lol but he got booked for diving in the box.

shirt pulling i would say would be gd if you knock the ball on trying to get past a player but he shields the ball so you can run onto it just pull him back slightly

The shirt pulling doesn't seem to win the ball for you either. Only advantage is if your defender is slow it stops the forward getting too far away allowing time to get a second defender across.

Diving sucks. I've had 3 yellow & 2 stright reds & have never won a free-kick.

Damn that eagle-eyed ref.

while running along the opposition hold R1 and press X. As said above its quite hard to notice in open play but you can notice it in the replay. found out a few more new tricks aswel if any1 wants 2 know??

well if you hold L1 and tap R1 three time he'll shape as if 2 cross the ball before carrying on his run, also tap L1 + R1 then two prods of L1 this will drag the ball + stepover at the same time and while you running down the wing hold L1 +R1 then O to cross and he'll look up gettin a better view of your striker thus resulting in a more accurate cross. there no better feeling than pulling a cheeky move past the helpless opposistion. enjoy

It's never given as a foul no, its easy enough to do, all you need to do is sprint behind a player in posession of the ball and it happens, i've seen it loads, from what i've experienced, its also the ideal time to try and pull off a dive, it does work if timed correctly with a shirt pull, but i've also found dives work better around the box than in it for some reason :dunno:

I was told that for th3 360 it was RB and LT to shirt pull, and thats the only way ive managed to do it so i thought it would be similar on the PS3?
