IX is definitely worth a punt, feels more akin to the older FF titles with less emphasis on teenage angst, and a more fantastical/magical storylive. The lead character Zidane is easily more likeable than Squall and Cloud, plus Vivi is perhaps the best FF character, period.

I have never played XII but it is very much a different beast to any of the titles that have came before, hence why I think I should play it!

First fight with loads of guys.. Game glitches and get stuck in a wall. Fucking great start that.

Pretty fun though running round the city throwing innocent women off high platforms into the road. I can see the special environment kill getting old pretty fast.

Hard to say, only played an hour or so and a lot of that was video/storyline.

Haven't got to the part where you get a gun yet. With out ruining it for anyone it's all foot chases and fighting so far.

There's little street quests where you can help a person in need. I decided to do one and the girl was saying "how do my boobs look in this shirt" and the next thing I'm getting mugged and chasing some guy across rooftops!

The game environment isn't as good as I thought it would be, everyone speaks English!

Hong Kong was a british territory up to 1997. It's influence can be seen heavily in architecture as well as the language, so it makes sense that a lot of them would speak English.

It's weirdly done in game though. They'll say a sentence in english but will throw in a few cantonese words (swear words, apologies etc).


Edit:

My point being surely not everyone speaks perfect english.

I just bought this. It's a Region 2 copy, and I really hate the button mappings glitch. It says press O to sprint but since my PS3 is Region 3, it's actually press X to sprint. I hope a patch will be released soon to fix this.
