A big failing in all open world type games really. They try to dress up the missions with different pretext, but then it's basically the same actions over and over. Not something that's likely to change unless a more linear route is taken.

Still on the fence over this one. There are times it sounds appealing, but then at others it just sounds like all the other open world titles I've played before, just with a different setting & I lose interest.

Thinking it might be a bargain basement pickup later this or early next year...

I got bored of this game very quickly.
I can understand why the game was originally scrapped.

I find it amusing when I'm singing along to Pat Benetar in a blood-stained suit.

Also, I just found out you can do a wall-kick. When in combat, if you run up a wall, just press square (or xbox equivalent) and he'll do a spinning kick off the wall. :)

I finally completed it yesterday and have been doing a few of the side missions but I don't think I'll bother with getting any more of the trophies etc. I finally beat Ali's clean drive record the other day only to find that Foxhound has beaten mine so I'm back at the same rank I was before :( I did however manage to rack up the high score from my friends list on catch me if you can - longest period being chased by police - with a time of just over 6 minutes :smug:

It's not a great game but if you get into it it can be good fun. An online combat mode with various usable environments would've been nice, perhaps even customisable levels. One thing that did bug me was that it seemed too easy. When faced with 20 guys with guns, it didn't seem too hard to take them down without taking damage and also the police were bloody useless throughout the game. However, I did like the inclusion of ramming, especially with the police on your tail.

I just completed it the other day. I was planning to continue the game after the patch for the button mapping bug is released, but it's taking forever.

The game is fun, but at times the repetitiveness gets me.

How do you unlock more Karaoke songs? I seem to be stuck on 5 at the moment. Do they unlock later in the game? I've just done the mission where

Jackie gets arrested

You get more songs as you progress through the game. You might need to do side missions as well as the main story in order to unlock them all but I haven't checked the karaoke bar since completing the game.

You've completed the game already?

Then again, I do like to take my time.

I completed it ten days ago and I play slowly

Didn't do all the side quests in the end but that's because they were getting repetitive.

How slow?

For me, if I complete an open world game in less than 3-4 weeks, I'd consider that a disappointment. :)
I think I only started playing it in the last week of August.

I put a lot of time in over the weekend and last week as I want to finish off Assassins Creed Revelations before Fifa comes out. There aren't really any difficult missions in Sleeping Dogs so it was easy to complete in a short space of time.

I unlocked more karaoke songs. It has "I Ran" by "Flock of Seagulls" - another classic Vice City throwback. :)
