No posts since it actually got released?

I've played only a few minutes (still in the tutorial) but the PC version with the HD resolution pack looks fantastic and performs very well. The camera already looks like it could be shit at times (and I know for a fact it IS shit at times) but surprisingly fighting with the mouse works really well.

I've got a PS3 controller here too if I need but I will probably stick to mouse and keyboard. The only gripe - and its the camera again - is that when you're running you can't quickly look to your side at things such as down an alleyway.

I've heard that you can not only drive while holding the car door open but also jump from one car to another.

The missions can be a bit...repetitive and the camera is annoying at times. But the fighting is good, especially when you get used to it.

Love fighting in the fight clubs.

A couple of PC screenshots I just took. Both anti-aliasing and SSAO are set to normal rather than high/extreme but the HD texture pack is enabled and I'm playing at 1080p. The game looks gorgeous when it is raining.

EDIT: I should have turned the HUD off so that the map wasn't showing but oh well.

EDIT 2: Here's another two.

Glad a patch is coming up. I think I'll stop playing this until the patch is released.

When doing a drug bust, which one do you prefer? Fighting them, or just ramming them by using a car? I like ramming them. Earlier, the game glitches because one of the triads was inside my car.

What does this patch? I don't have the game yet, but will be getting it this week. Is it something major?

As far as I'm aware, it's only to fix the button mapping problem on the PS3. I think this only exist if you have an Asian PS3, but have a Region 1 or Region 2 copy of the game.

For example, the on screen tutorial says to press O to sprint, when it's supposed to be X, or press X to grapple, when it's supposed to be O.

It can get very confusing at times.

I really been enjoying this game so far. I have one small issue with it though, about the radio stations. Doesn't seem to stay consistent - you can switch to one station, be listening to middle of a song, switch to another station then switch back, and the station will skip ahead to a completely new song.

There's a good selection of music. A couple of GTA songs, Pale Shelter from Vice City, and that The Who song.... which was either VC or San Andreas. I tend to stick to either the Kerrang or Sagittarius stations, they're the only stations that play recognisable (at least to me) music.

Shit music you mean

I spent almost all of my time on Boosey & Hawkes. The occasional switch to Softly when I need a bit of oriental immersion.

I finished the game on Saturday morning - rushed it a little bit as I wanted to get it out of the way before Baldur's Gate which, upon its release next week, I will play alongside Dark Souls which I started over the weekend.

You obviously have no taste.

I occasionally listen to B&H and Softly. Tend to stay away from the rap stations like HK Club.

Ali you bastard with your 2 minutes 1 second clean drive record :folarm: I managed to get up to about a minute and a half, maybe less, with some really slow car. I'm enjoying the game. especially chucking people over railings onto the floor below etc.

I just drove along the motorway at a steady pace towards the area in the bottom left. It was all going swimingly with no problems, until I got to a bit with lanes being blocked off...... then I ended up having to go in the right hand lane (against traffic) under a tunnel, narrowly avoiding cars and JUST managed to make it past 2mins to get me trophy. :D

BTW, did anyone else initially find it weird driving on the left? Most sanbox games like this are based in the US, where they drive on the right.

I don't tend to stick to the rules of the road in these sorts of games so lampposts, cars, people are flying all over the place when I'm in the car/bike. I probably spend more time on the right as I'm overtaking those who are obeying the traffic lights.

This.

My clean drive record was around 1:40 but I had nobody to compare with :<

The roadrunner and the classic station are the one's I tend to listen to. Its a good game, just feels the missions sometimes are very similar.

That's the heavy metal station isn't it? I'm not keen on that.

Anyone else finding it a lot easier to gain Cop points than Triad points?

Thats strange, I always saw you as a Devildriver fan myself

Massive fan.

There is one song on that station by Killswitch Engage (?). Nice intro, but then they ruin it with the rest of the song.

A big failing in all open world type games really. They try to dress up the missions with different pretext, but then it's basically the same actions over and over. Not something that's likely to change unless a more linear route is taken.

Still on the fence over this one. There are times it sounds appealing, but then at others it just sounds like all the other open world titles I've played before, just with a different setting & I lose interest.

Thinking it might be a bargain basement pickup later this or early next year...
