Spoilt little children, be thankful there is a game like this out there or we'll all be stuck with Fifa. Don't moan about something you couldn't do any better yourself. Let me guess, you were the ones that threw tantrums when you didn't get that birthday present you wanted......does anyone remember actua soccer?? what a game for it's time!!!

Typical nonsense from a fan boy. Don't moan about something you couldn't do better yourself? Well unless you never complained about a product, you're in no position to be coming out with nonsense like that.

I think if you actually thought about what you were saying then you'd realise that nobody would ever complain about anything....ever. Unless they could do it better themselves. Seeing as how none of us are computer game programmers it renders us all speechless does it?

If you're at a resteraunt and get served cold food, should you not complain unless you're a chef? What about if your car breaks down? Only if you're a mechanic?

Have you ever heard of input, conversation, debate, or constructive criticism?

you mention Fifa, but surely if you take your own advice you shouldn't be complaining about that, because you couldn't do any better yourself. Infact, you couldn't do any better than the very worst football game every created, none of us could without a good bit of training.

So in a nutshell, your motto is....never criticise anything ever, unless you could do better yourself.

Get real.

I bought fifa 06 this past week-end, and after 3 games, my roommate and I gave up and went back to playing World winning 8 ( here in the US, we still don't have 9). So even if it's not perfect, it's the best soccer game out there.

Being a programmer, it's not easy to make even the small changes to a program. All the changes that you guys want make might seems easy for you, but a programmer do implement most of them, it's like rewriting your whole code. So for me, I don't complain. I'm pretty sure they are aware of these, and are working to fix them in the future. \

Meanwhile I'm still waiting to get my hand on the new game!!!!!

word, you pay money for a game, and you expect alot from the pro line which has been supported for a long time. the fact is the game has flaws and hey if you hate them so much then don't play it take it back or some shiz. people are right to voice opinons but some people are taking it to seriously..

Hello mate.....nice response, I luv getting peoples backs arched....shows passion and personality....bet you would make a worthy opponent on pes. I really liked your analogy of the chef and mechanic thing. Spot on. Just a wind up about the complaining thing....I do have quite a few issues with the game in fact.....think my biggest one is the fact that player speed stats seem to count for nothing....but hey you know life goes on. :) No hard feelings bro...

*The devs should check out ESPN NHL 2k5, now THAT'S commentary with pinpoint precision. It's play-by-play, replays, goals, stats, you name it.*

agreed-superb commentary and game. As for Pro Evo commentary I find looking for innuendo helps...:
-'Oh! What are they doing behind the goal?'-Trevor, Pes3 (best accompanies slightly camp 'group bonding' celebration)

Bobslob ive seen a lot of posts about players speed stats meaning nothing and i cant understand why people are saying this.
Its very realistic, its simple, if your through with martins, henry, ronaldo you simply wont be caught!

I hated PES4 for the fact when i was clearly 5-10 yards clear of the last defender with people like martins and the defender would catch me up!

What makes it worse is that the cpu player without the ball is running at the same speed as your player without the ball.

PES may have the best playing engine but when you compare other parts of PES to other games past and present PES is poor.

Master League is crap compared to Sensible Soccer. PES master league has leagues which all have the same amount of teams. Sensible soccer has most leagues, seasons, cups and games can be cancelled if you get an extended run in the cups. The leagues were also variable in size. Sensible soccer came out over 10 years ago for a machine that had only half a megabyte. If you can do a proper season for most leagues in the world on an amiga, you can easily do this for a PS2,XBOX and definately a PC.

The training system is the sort of thing you got on 8 bit computers. compared to the likes of football manager or cm4 , it is not even worth comparing.
PES 5 problems:

1) Stadiums with no fans. (even for the pc version, surely they could have an option for those with more powerful computers to have fans)
2) Poor commentary.
3) Biased refs who don't even book cpu players for slowing you down, last man tackles or pushing you off the ball, but have no problems booking you for running beside the cpu player.
4) CPU players that run as fast as you even though you have not got the ball.
5) Manual pass that is on the right hand stick but could be better implemented on the left stick just like fifa (tap pass button you get normal pass, hold pass button you power bar for manual pass)
6) Heading system where you don't even control when you jump for the ball.
7) Slide tackles where yoiu have no control on redirecting the ball (You still cannot slide tackle a through ball). Sensible Soccer and Kick off had this.
8) Goalies who cannot even throw to the nearest palyer.
9) Power bar for passes at freekicks , which doesn't even effect the power and direction.
10) Players who don't even move towards the ball, and worst case they will run away from the ball.
11) Replays are still too short on the PC or Xbox version. How hard is it to increase replay length ?
12) No control on what players attack/defend corners/freekicks. Kick off had this.
13) Throwin system that is rubbish, no control on power and most of the time direction. The cpu will often place your players as far as possible away from the thrower when attacking or defending. They should go back to the PES3 version.
14) No realtime lighting for stadiums. Michael Owen's World League Soccer 99 had this on the PS1.
15) No realtime Weather for stadiums (it starts to rain, it stops raining, sun sets and floodlights are turned on). Michael Owen's World League Soccer 99 had this on the PS1.
16) No 360 degree rotation for freekicks.
17) Penalties are still poor, no control on power, run up or even curl. You still cannot move the goalie befor the ball is kicked.
18) Having to press super cancel all the time. Surely they should have differnet types of super cancel just like they have with crosses. 1) Default is R1 and R2. 2) Any speed button 3) Any button
19) Manual crossing is poor. No control on curl, height or even speed. Sensible soccers crossing system is far beeter than PES.
20) CPU can do 40 to 50 yard pin point headers while you have problems doing 5 yard headers.

By the way my highest score is Arsenal 13 -1 Rangers, on 6 stars 15 minute game Master League My average is 4 or 5 nil. I have not even lost or drawn a game yet.

Last of all, one of the main reasons PES has not improved by a lot, are games reviews. even with the problems mentioned above,it still gets 9 or 10 out of ten. What is the point of improving a game if even with all the problems it will always get high scores. If games reviews actually mentioned the problems and somes solutions then there is more chance of it being fixed or implemented in the next version.

PES may be the best game, but the only competition is Fifa. Personally Sports Interactive of football manager should have bought out codemasters football game and combined them. It would at least provide competition to Konami and EA.

About commentary: I do agree PES is indeed lousy in that department, I hate it
The devs should check out ESPN NHL 2k5, now THAT'S commentary with pinpoint precision. It's play-by-play, replays, goals, stats, you name it. I always play PES with all commentary off, but when I tried this hockey game I was simply blown away, that's how good it is :) I fail to see how hard and time consuming it could be to get it right?? I bet even FIFA is better....

Devs - check out the competition and react in a proper way!

The best commentary I have ever heard in a football game was Actua Soccer 3 (or maybe 2, it was a long time ago) on PS1. I forget the commentator's name, but he's recently retired and was really popular. You hardly heared the same thing being said more than once. It was really great.

What ever happened to the Actua Soccer series? I really liked. Even more than FIFA.

Amen...

That is exactly what I was gonna say,the commentary on Actua Soccer 3 was incredible....and i mean incredible!!! After months of playing he used to come out with comments i hadn't heard before!!! so good!!!

the first guy here is an absolute chump, for someone who says they are a pro evo vetran and still doesn't know all you have do do is move you're keeper back a touch and he will throw the ball every time is an absolute joke. play fifa mate you deserve each other.

The creater of pro evo (seabass) says alot of things very interesting in the official guide about how they are having to wait for more power in the console to create new things on pitch. He also explains alot about abilities ect and why should we care about the commentary you want banging tunes on never comentators, you have eyes. and for the crowd u can get patches with actual chants like. i dont have it cos i dont get none of tht patching stuff mainly cos itas as good as virtual football gets...

I definately agree with the sprinting part. Hyypia should not be able to KEEP UP with some like Henry or Martins. Also irritating things like playing the perfect through ball and for it to then bounce off your players heel.

To be honest the more I play it, the less issues I have with it; but I am talking Online games, it plays very real, Henry flys by my defenders, Cisse past the opposition, sometimes they are caught, most times they are not. The master may never change, it doesn't need to for me, as long as I can play online, I will not be playing it! so the only issue is LAG and I will not be blaming that on Kanomi

Yeah, now I've got the hang of things Cisse and Henry slaughter teams through pace alone when I play as France.
