its fun playing against him because he is impotent and watching ppl spam through balls is funny as my cb just heads it away lol. Hey, we are not all as gifted a footballers as brazilians lets just be honest. there is bound to be ppl who abuse him just deal with it and stop getting your panties in a twist. if you learnt how to defend then they wouldnt spam would they?

Okay, except for the unnecessary panty comments... Read your post and you will see how it sounded to others. Really, I'm not "in a twist" just misunderstanding and clearly I felt I was talking to someone who was extremely hypocritical.

If you had posted a little more of a response than just saying I was misunderstanding then it would have wasted less of my time btw!

The fact that he is the most bought/played striker on MLO (check it for yourself via CF owned by most) goes on to show that majority of online players are abusing the game by spamming through balls to him.
Should his value be increased to around 11 million euros mark instead of 1.5 million euros not even half the MLO player who own him would have him on their team.

Right now they do own him just because he is a dirt cheap player with no technical ability but the ability to easily latch on to through balls and free himself 1 on 1 against the keeper....

The same can be said about Ronaldo or Eto'o or Martins but lets face it you pay multi million transfer fee and minimum 10 matches salary of 160 k instead of 1.5 million euros + 50k /10 matches that you pay for Van der mirch.

Good point. Konami massage the price of players too much in my opinion. If so many people buy him his price should reflect that. Simple.

Van Der Mirch is not a speed merchant, but yes he is fast. He is a fake/made-up player by Konami. Beginners or people at the early stage of MLO tend to purchase him, along with other fake players like Petrobenov & Negli, simply because they are cheap & effective.

I msut say that it can be frustrating playing against them, but as people start getting better teams they tend to offload these players. Not EVERYONE does though because they tend to fall in love with them.

I personally don't like the idea of having fake/made-up players in my team, so have never purchased any.

Van der mirch isn't a speed merchant? his explosive power is 87 and top speed around 93 I think...against his height and built like torres helps him latch on to passes easily....
Peterbenov cannot be abused as easily as van der mirch and negli is a LB,CB,DM with his defense as 67 I think....that is ok imo.

People with team strength of 700 play van der mirch as their sole striker upfront and their game is based on playing long balls to him...that is cheap and irrational to the logic of this beautiful game called football

No, he isn't a speed merchant. You have to have the speed merchant skill card to be one, and he doesn't. That doesn't mean he's not fast, it just means he can't make high-speed turns while running with the ball.

Sorry I didn't Purchase him to observe his skill cards but lets face it he can latch on to through passes easier than more other players(apart from Eto'o ,Ronaldo) because of his physique.

Good strikers for 10mill = Gomez, mutu, di natale, suarez - all much cheaper than 10 mill. Falcao for 12mill is a bargain

I use Derk boateng as my DMF he has anchor and enforcer card, I use him either with cambiasso as a dm who also has both cards, or with any CM who has the talisman card.

Hulk & Aguero are better than Van De Mirch at doing it.

Hulk & Aguero are better than Van De Mirch at doing it.

I have played against HULK many a times and he is not that quick maybe because of his heavier built!

Aguero,Eto'o and Ronaldo I agree but the thing is that if my team strength is say 760 the probability of Aguero/Ronaldo showing up against my Rami,Garay,Brown is very low.......
similarly for lower team strenghts Eto'o wouldn't be paired either but van der mirch? ffs I played 6 matches yesterday against played with team rating ranging from 520-560 and all of them played him as the main striker .

Anyway, the point is that it's not just the player that's the problem, it's the way people play. If it weren't Van Der Mirch it would be MPhela, Doumbia, Barreto et al. They're pretty effective up front as well if you hoof it up to them.

Really gutted that Konami didn't address this in the patch though, it would have been an easy one to remedy, and it's not as if what we're asking for isn't realistic.

They wouldn't even have to have tweaked the actual through pass (although it needs a bit of an adjustment I think), they could have just made changes to the passing when it is say 30-40 yards or more.

The thing I think some people on here don't understand is that even if it were easy to avoid giving up goals because of this (I do give up some but not that many), the constant spamming ruins the gameplay itself. I'm not just all about winning (if that were all that was important to me I would play like that too), I want a good game! And that's hard when the opposition every game is always playing something that doesn't even look like football.

I read some replies here begging for a patch to correct the game about those through balls. This is never gonna happen.

Why?

People will not play (BUY) a football game if they can not score. So, Konami make this exploit to be a easy way to make goals. If people think that is hard to score, they don't play the game (BUY), simple.

And also, I believe in a script inside the game that make the defender act like a dumb and lose the timing when they "see" a through ball.

And I think this game is VERY WEIRD and the system of punishment if you do a wrong thing is unfair. More you try to build-up a good gameplay, with pass and feints trying to dizzy the opponent, I think is more easy to receive a goal lol. And it's not about the defense gets open because I'm doing passes.

This is the complete opposite of what people online are and play.
Ive played about 250 games in MLO and got a pretty sweet team, which I dont want to build any further but its either you run into van der mich exploits, which gets pretty easy to defend when your team defense is high and man marking or people who just lagg when you are in control of the ball.

And so the game is ruined. The manual passing/shooting yields to a really good game tho i must say. It just takes a while for someone to get matched up with. Might be the only thing that will have me playing the game for a little bit more.

Yep its really sad that you are pitched against van der mirch in 9 out of 10 games lol and ofcourse people play players like doumbia ,peterbenov to exploit the game and kill the fun for everyone...ironically the game plays so beautifully on zero pass support, picks up right from pes5/6 days...

about the guy claiming that konami is deliberately allowing such exploits for stupid people to score easily - you are true upto some extent but look whats happening ever since passing was made super easy since pes11 ,Konami has been constantly losing its fan base....it is not like pes is selling more than its previous version every year...more and more loyal pes fans are giving up on the game...
For me personally pes14 is going to be my last try...if the game supports any kind of exploits I am going to switch to FIFA.(if FIFA14 doesn't have any exploits either like finesse shots that i've heard of)

I am very curious about Pes2014 because it will be a new engine. So Konami will start the game from zero :D

About exploits, all games have it. Doesn't matter the genre.
The problem is that in Pes13 (and the other recents ones) they are so explicit and easy.

Not really an exploit, more like a feature. Through balls combined with teammate controls. It's the price you pay for having poor defensive abilities or poor defenders for that matter.

The best way to stop them, is to manually control one of your CB's and run towards your goal, awaiting for that through ball. Don't just leave this to the AI because quick/responsive and strong (physical B-A) strikers will escape just about any defender.

Its just what Konami have focused on this year: speed matters less, physical more. That's why in PES 2012 you'd see everyone buying PATO, and in PES 2013 everyone's buying HULK instead.

A "feature?" Ha ha. Get real. As if Konami would say in the features press release for MLO: "New Feature for 2013: Spam cheap players through the middle for unstoppable and easily repeatable cheap goals. Now easier to beat keepers one on one with little or no skill!"

Also Van Der Mirch's speed is what makes him effective, not his strength. His balance is only 74, and Pato's is 75. Hulk is also effective because of his speed (90 top speed/92 dribble speed) and besides, Pato is one of the most popular players this year so I'm really not seeing your perspective I'm afraid.
