perfectstrik. So at gamescom, pes is a 10% finished game and fifa 10 is 100% finished. You are indeed retarded. Why bother showing a shit game if it is missing that much stuff? People who played pes weren't impressed. So why even release a playtest in the first place.

Dude... Konami don't have the same resources EA do. They rely on sales of their cult classics like PES, DDR, Metal Gear Solid, etc. while EA have tons of games each selling zillions of copies. They obviously need to sell games, which is why Seabass has to hype each year's PES. I'd gladly take a finished game every two years over an incomplete one annually, but it's never going to happen. If anything, admitting that a better game could be made with more time is being more honest. EA Sports have released more incomplete transition games than I can count. NHL '95 and '97 are two games that come to mind off the top of my head, both bare-bones versions of a game rushed to store shelves. 96 and 98 were the same thing, but completed (and both are absolute classics might I add).

So that big-picture people like me can see that it has the best AI of any football game to date and insanely great graphics? FIFA as usual has its cheating AI to coverup the fact that its not that good and its usual semi-detailed kits and player likenesses, but they made sure everything else was finished so as not to present the real game underneath to the world.
As I've parroted a few times already, PES has a few simple issues to sort out. Add animations, fix the somewhat worrying thing where the human-controlled ball carrier can sprint and the computer can't. Do that and it'll be a great game.

I think both FIFA and PES have more than "a few simple issues".
One major issue for me with PES is the fact that half the time, the player doesnt even connect with the ball, yet it still moves like it did (see the Henry goal in one of the new gameplay vids for example - Messi cross - no connection, Henry side foot volley, no where near any connection with his boot - replay makes the game look TERRIBLE IMO)

Nowhere near? It was about an inch away in 'game space.' PES 09 had the same problem, balls don't quite hit feet, but that's not a huge deal to me. I hardly even remembered until you mentioned it. The PES vids to me still look a lot more like the way real football is played. In real life, the best players are constantly on the move. They recieve the ball, pass it, and don't wait around to see where it's going, they're already moving. I'm seeing that in these vids, and I like it.

Um, yes. This is what we smart kids do. Make a statement and back it up with reasons. Relatively simple concept. I'm interested to hear what massive AI flaws you see in the current generation of PES. I'm not like most 'zomfg pes roolz fifa sux LOL' n00bs you meet on these kind of forums. I want a proper dialogue here. Not just sweeping condemnations with nothing to back them up.

So far as I understand it, it's a form of AI to attempt to stop the user from repeatedly using the same tactics and/or tricks over and over again to beat the computer, as well as AI in which teammates react to each other, moving into space, making runs, closing down, covering for each other. Good idea, I think.

1) The fact that i can take one man and run though entire teams, then run down the wing and cutback and tap in, or fire at the keeper and tap in the rebound, over and over again.

2) Teamvision is seabass talk for advanced scripting where the AI Controls player passing, movement, its rids the game of alot of the so called 'indviduality' that pes has. Because for all the talk about individuality, lille players can play like messi from barca, the cpu makes your players foul and give away pk's without you even controlling the game, your keepers fumble everything, ive seen the ball go through keepers, attackers running away from goal when they are about to be through, defenders running out of the way of attackers.
Tons of stuff, all of which makes this 'realistic' and 'individual' game you people talk about.

Don't be cranky. The game will be better than in many years. The people who remember PES at its haydays have forgot that there was problems then too. Cutbacks and bad physical values that made the game easy to predict and the "best" players all played the same style. (for example the people who played in the ECs all played the same) Not so much fun if I say so myself.
