i have tried t least 10 times to find a position that i like, and finally ended up sticking to WF. got a 6.5 rating in my trial match and signed for wigan over west ham and hull, only for the fact that i like wigan more than the other 2.

anyway, i scored a goal in my first training session, but not much after that, so i had to wait 13 2nd team training games to make the 1st squad training, which i scored and got an assist in and got a 7.5 rating. started on the bench next match and came on as a CF, and almost scored the equalising goal 2 times, but we ended up losing the match 2-1, but, overall, quite pleased with my sudden jump from 2nd team to bench, just in a matter of 2 weeks!

Is it just me, or are BAL penalty shootouts the biggest waste of time, ever, and perhaps the most "broken" thing in this game?

At first, I thought it was because I was at teams with mediocre players at best, but the first three takers in the Liverpool side I'm at now are Torres, Aquilani, and Gerrard. Three shootouts with them, zero on target. Ridiculously wide every single time, just like the players at previous teams. Opposition has no trouble whatsoever. My teams have been in a dozen shootouts over the years (particularly since this game seems to love forcing draws in cup finals), and my character, who is always the fifth or sixth taker, has not had the chance to take a single kick yet, because we're always out with the opposition's third kicker.

Wish they would patch this, it's so insulting. I dig almost everything else about the game, but this is really disgusting me.

^yep, i've complained about the penalty problem before..and you're right, it's a super frustrating mistake, especially when it costs you the title or some other important game (like it did me..several times)..

101? How? Agility never goes up so yours will be around 80-85 max? Every other stat goes upto 100...

The reason you can go that high is because each "player index" you possess adds to your overall rating. And also, if you can play in multiple positions, that'll improve your overall rating as well. My player is very similar to historymaker's, pretty similar stats, exactly 101 overall rating at 25 yo. My player's growth curve suggests that his rating is actually 95, but he has 8 player indexes and is able to play in 5 different positions.

Today i played liverpool quite a shit game but won it in the 90min with michael owen what joy it was.

Then to the CL quarter final v Real madrid (again) beat them 4-0 at home they scored 2 own goals and 1 was from ronaldo lol

I wish we'd get Madrid in the quarters, if only to be rid of them before the later stages. I've met them in the final three seasons running, beat them every time (twice with PSG, once with Liverpool), and they're still ranked #1, somehow.

So ive finished the second season and won the EPL which was a very tight race in the final day with Chelsea. My DM averaged 6.14 and i am receiving offers from Man City and Lazio being the top teams. Who should i join?

Man City- Finished 3rd in EPL, Champions league available, but im kinda not comfortable playing with tevez and adebayor because i dont like them in real life, Rio Ferdinand joined them and i was like WTF? because im a man utd fan.

Lazio - Finished 7th, Europa league available, i hope they still have zarate, playing in different league, opening up more opportunities overseas.

Depends on how badly you want CL football. If you don't mind waiting, off to Italy! You'll have a pretty decent shot at CL qualification with Lazio anyway.

I was into my 8th season playing for Man United with my SS..with avg 95..
Lost the KONAMI folder in an uninstallation along with all the saved replays..

Phew!! Had my old BAL file saved somewhere in documents..

Ive decided to start BL and singed for hull play as a CF, atm its a bit boring just playing training games with no sound no atmosphere no commentry so i guess ill haft to play well to make it on the bench.

Is there something wrong with my become a legend? because last season I got some of my stats up to 85 and then suddenly they stopped going up as much as the others e.g SA goes up by 5 while SPA goes up by 10

^If you mean the stats won't increase as fast then yes it happens to everyone. But not all of the stats.

Does anyone know when you stop playing training games and start getting on the bench for games baecause ive played a fair few traing games maybe i need to score or something?

you need consistently good ratings in the training games to get on the bench.

get that manager bar to at least half way.

My BAL player, now 20 years old, has just got his first big team offer! Fiorentina, who finished 2nd on goal difference in Serie A 2011-12, came with a good offer.

Took me three games to get on the bench, and I've now scored two braces amongst six goals and one assist about 7 weeks into the season. Our first up Champion's League game was at home to Barca, and I scored one and got an assist in a 3-0 thumping!

I'd say our team's fans would love me already

Plus, although I'd only ever been a CMF or AMF with my first two clubs, Fiorentina have been playing me as an SS and even CF twice!

I'm only 175cm in real life and in BAL, so I'm not great at leading the line, but I have been scoring for fun.

Good times, eh?
