After much consideration and with a heavy heart Ive given up on MLO for a bit. I just cant stand hwo about 80% of the people I play choose to set their teams up, I Know its their right to play how they want, and I Know its Konamis doing how they set up the league structure, which is why Im removing myself from the situation.
I dont pretend to be a great player at PES im slightly above average at best, but honestly some of the douches I meet boil my blood. On Saturday I entered the Open competition and yet again despite being in the bottom half of DIV4 I get put against a D2 player and two D3 players.
Anyway Im no cheat so I didnt quit or dc, one of the guys has a team whos front two are worth more than my whole team combined and the rest of his team are of the same level, when I check after he was worth 42mill+ my teams worth 16mill, he played pressure 20, defensive line 20 and just launched through balls and long balls at me for the whole match, despite that he only had 2 more shots than me, we both had the same on target (2), it ended up a 0-0 draw and at the end of the match he types 'bore' in the chat... next game the guys teams worth 30mill he has Benzama up front and just launches the ball at him repeatedly and shoots as soon as he receives it from whatever angle/distance, games ends up 1-1 despite having more shots on target than him, he writes 'lucky' at the end of the match.
I dont give a crap what they think of me tbh thats not the issue, I found it perversly entertaining drawing against someone two divisions above me who had more money than me sat on the bench, but honestly the games were so dull it was painful it just wasnt enjoyable on any level. And thats cause Konami so badly screwed up through balls and defending that everyone with half a brain spends most of the match pressing SQAURE to win the ball and then TRIANGLE to through ball ad nauseum, theres no variety.
Every now and again I play someone cool, like some guy from Scotland that same competition, he had a similar team level to me, tbh I played the better football but he defended really well and scored a wonder goal on the counter, it was a cool game and I congratulated him, but all to often the people are utter tools, playing ludicrous bug exploiting formations and using the same strategy for the whole match.
Note - Clear sign some is a complete tit, when you swap kits cause they are to similar they swap to their second kit which is also similar, if you try to swap back they then sit swapping repeatedly between the two until the timer runs down /facepalm
The final straw for me is the matchmaking/scoring system. Like I said im no great player, im average. But despite that I have still got a decent record.
Won 21 Drawn 25 Lost 18 (1 of those losses was a disconnect)
Now of those 17 losses at least 7 have been against people in higher divisions and a good 13 of them (no lie) have been against clubs who are considerably richer than me (more than double) yet weirdly that doesnt matter, the game I mention above the guy was in D3 he had something like 494 I had 501 I believe and we drew he went up to 503 I went down to about 486!! It was totally weird, he should have lost points for not being able to beat me, not gained them.
I could go on for ages about unjust awarding of points, but its something which clearly most people dont mind. Anyway dont want to come off as a moaner, largely speaking I still enjoy MLO but its cons have started to outweigh its pros for me, so Ill be hanging up my boots for the time being at least.

Totally agree with you, I only play for 1 or 2 competition now (I played 200 matches on the first week), then started to found exploited bugs etc and some noobs who do everything to win e.g. pausing at the elimination phase of comps just bcoz they ranked higher on qualification..
Yeh, yesterday I played a similar match, my first MLO match actually.. managed to play 1-1 draw by making one successfull attack.. (Goal by Minanda 
). He threw everything forward, so there was much room for counter attack... only if the players could run faster than defenders as we all know.
Still managed to pull off a goal in beginning, with a few long passes. He pressured the rest of the match and got one goal. Still didn't feel like football at all, or a lot of fun. More like fast forwarded arcade soccer.

Entered div 2 cup yesterday about too get my second win along with my draw but no i got cheated because the guy did the cheat quit.
That would of put me joint top with a div 1 player who was playing in div2 cup :erm:??But ohh noooo, i ended near the bottom of the ranking because someone quit the cheatily way ,easily qualified through because there was only 14 players. end up getting a late equaliser against the typical superstar squad you face in div 2:huh:
Go to penaltys ,my keeper saves first penalty then the game freezes then match gets cancelled .Followed by the message the other player qualifys because he had higher placing in qualification:realmad:.
So i was cheated twice. son of a..... <i was like:laugh:

2 things to keep in mind though:
1.) This is the first year for MLO. I think we all see the potential there, and hopefully Konami will see just how popular this mode is and aim to improve it greatly in the future.
2.) Those losers who send you a message like "bore" or "lucky" are obviously a waste of skin. I wouldn't look at it as a bad thing though, look at the bright side, those messages prove that you pissed them off. Not only sore winners but sore losers as well. All that one can hope to achieve when playing someone like that is to get under their skin, and you obvioulsy did that. Would be better to win of course, but the way I look at it, even when you lose against people like this they make such fools of themselves with their behaviour that they will never, ever, win my respect.

I must admit master league online is the most frustrating game i ever played, I almost smashed my controller last night after having a bad run of results, what pisses me off is when I work very hard for my goals going 2-0 up then somehow my opponent scores straight from kick off and then levels the game late on with goal out of nowhere, such bollox game
Doesnt anyone find that after u scored, your opponents scores one back straight from kick off and no matter how hard u try u cant do fuck all about it like u literally cant touch his player he walks through your defence and then something silly happens, has that ever happened to u guys??

Does anyone know why the competition results shows only 1 of my 2 wins I tally from my games? I know I won two games because I see it in the up to date match results but my record is different on the standings. Is it something I should pay attention to with competitions? This is my first competition and already I've been robbed. Although I think I would've needed another win to qualify.

Time for a little status.
I've played 82 games so far. 31W 23D 28L. The reason for my many losses has been due to me joining the ML open and D5 cup coaching modes. It's a quick way to earn cash, but my team is way to bad to win games.
I have 487 Division 5 points right now. Was at about 535 at some point. That was when I tried some coaching competitions. Thay made me go down to about 450. So now I've played some quick matches to get my points back up.
I signed Rustu when I could afford him. Really worth the cost! And it is such a big difference to have a good goalie really. Recently Signed Rosina who is a beast as left winger! He's really doing some good stuff and making alot of assists. Inzaghi is kinda disappointing as the single attacker, he just can't hold his own, and im considering either releasing him for Iaquinta, or playing with a second striker next to him. So far he has scored 22 goals in 67 games.

Appreciate the response, ive had some time to reflect now and my mood has softened a bit. I think the problem was that I was assuming (stupidly) that most people would be football fans who wanted a good match, not kids who spent 24/7 looking for ways to exploit the buggy match engine or cheat in some other lame way.
Ive decided to stick with it for a bit but im mixing my time between offline and online more now, when it starts to annoy me (Online) ill play offline for a bit or another game, no use getting frustrated over people who spend so much time playing just to abuse cheat tactics and the like. Its cool in a way me having a fairly long hours job and all I dont have much time to play so it means most teams I play are far better than me, which makes it not so bad when I draw with them. In short I am perservering for a time, between offline and picking up FM11 that is!
Despite some of the awful bugs and problems PES11 remains a playable game.
