just starting to get into MLO now. which i had read up a bit on how it works before i started as i made some stupid errors at the start. finally realised it's all about playing comps otherwise there is no hope of ever getting the funds you need.
i've gone for the approach of building a team of young english players. cahill is the oldest at 24. there are some cheap ones who are quite fun to play with. particularly enjoying ishmael miller, rodwell, woods and zavon hines. biggest purchase to date is kieran gibbs who replaced jaric as the last default outfield player.
i am in D4 and not doing that well. best comp placing about 90th although i did get 3 wins in a row, they were all 1-0 so goal diff stuffed me. seems you need about +7 at the minimum in D4 to have a hope of qualifying?
funny how some of these D4 teams have a full squad of stars, sneijder, benzema etc. not quite sure how that works! also, the last 3 teams i played in a comp just now all had this Doltan guy who i've never heard of and seems to be some sort of legend. i prefer my english youth approach, more satisfying that just getting pjanic doltan hulk etc YAWN

^ Agreed. As I get better though I'm adding more "superstars." Hunterlaar is the first, great purchase so far.
Hunterlaar was my very first signing I have spent 50 million sinse and he is still the best goal scorer, fox in the box works a treat! Scored over 250 goals in 450 games! Bear in mind I have signed Lisandro and Higuain sinse! What a guy, he's not fast but my good his finishing is top!

He's the first signing over 1.5 million for me, and really worth it so far. I spent a lot of time looking for a stiker to buy, and as soon as I saw him I said to myself "well... That would be smart!"
The only thing he doesn't have is really great speed and dribbling, but with this year's game almost no players can outrun the defenders anyway. Plus I play a posession game so most of my chances are build up play anyway.
Having a target man/fox in the box, is priceless I say. Really surprised more people haven't signed him.
I may have to look into huntelaar, I've got Cahill as my striker right now, but switching him to AMC or SMF would work for me.
Btw Doltan is actually Donovan, as in Landon Donovan [so yeah he is a legend -) ]
Btw, have you all played against Americans often? I've NEVER played an American or Canadian and I'm in the USA, almost never get brits either. Am I the only one in the USA who has PES on PC? I get French, Spanish the most, followed by Greek, Italians, and Germans.

I'm in the US but list as S. Korea since that's my nationality. I get mostly S. American players but have seen a number of US players. It says US/<State> which is cool. Actually I've played with people from all over which is cool.
I have a feeling a lot of people put their nationality there instead of their location.

i've gone from flying in D3 doing well geting between 120,000 -129,581 per game to playing realy shit last sunday affternoon and relagated to D4 now i cant win at all.i've been playing in the 10:40pm comp's and the best i've done all week is draw 5 and lost 1 (lastnight)...hope this week gets better..lol
Thomas Muller a good squad player? Were is he best played up front or on the right like for Germany!? Thinking signing him he is a little over priced but I liked him slot in the demo.

I play Muller as a SS ad can finish quite well, handy for me, suits my possession and build up play. Hope that helped

He is doing fine, I've bought him because of his cover and defenseorganisator traits. He has not made a single mistake yet and he is always in good position for a player switch on him. How he is with the ball does not bother me as he hardly gets any dribble distance in my game, he receives a pass and deliver the ball to the next one.
I've about 70% Ballpossesion in my games and its all about passing, not dribbling.

Lol I play a similar style man, I like fast one touch play, how ever when I signed Ribery it's always nice to be able to beat a few defenders with his pace and skills. Currently on a 9 game winning streak. Gonna be cautious til Monday as im in a promotion spot and don't wanna lose it!

just went from 536 to 504 rank points in 2 matches... losing 1-0 and 4-3 both against D2 opponets in the qick match, so much for getting promoted 2morrow, I couldnt resist a game after work, and I lost 16 points from a 1-0 defeat when villa scored the most shoddy reboud ever from an attempted clearance... >.< looks like the rest of my night will be trying to get back to 535 and wins only give me 2-5 points >.<

So I joined the d5 cup, and the first game I was REALLY rusty. Should have smoked the guy who had default players but it ended 0-0. The next couple games I came from behind for late equalisers, and the last couple games I put together some great passes and showed some creativity in my attack.
I didnt qualify but oh well.
I plan on saving up for Huntelaar thanks to all you guys talking about him. Need about another 1.5 million or so. I plan on moving Cahill to my AMF spot and switch the position to SS, then moving my current AMF (Palacios) to SMF then selling a SMF to help pay for Huntelaar.
Btw he is worth 3 million on PC, thought someone said 1.5 on here but that must be for console.

I play on ps3 in the NA and SA region and i was looking at the promotion requirement for d1 and it says somewhere at 545, then i checked the rankings in d2, theres only 2 people that had that rating, surely they're gonna promote more than 2 people..?
at the begining of the week promotion for D1 required only 525, but as the week has progressed and more and more people surpass it, it has risen, its know up to 531 I Think, I did have 536, but know after an awful night so far Im down to 510 =/, got til tomorrow night to save myself. Requires about a 7-8 win streak tbh
