Very true, although i'm sure Marquinhos would make a great AMC on any given day!

Whenever I play PSG David Luiz is my DMF. Or AMF if I'm feeling lucky.

Meanwhile, let me add to the "strange scores" discussion.

And after this game Neves "is looking really good". He was a 80-min sub.

Edit: Barcelona just made an offer... for my services.

Your season sounds very similar to mine. Lucas Moura is also my Star player on 94OR and still developing. What OR is yours on? I also have a similar amount of money in the bank from some savvy transfer market dealings.
Looks like you've got a very strong squad (that list of forwards is crazy) with some decent regens coming through.

My Lucas Moura is only 89 overall and isn't even a star player. Because of this he isn't an automatic starter for my home games as he won't earn me as much money in merchandise. Still one of my key players though, I was reluctant to sell him but £50 million was too good an offer to turn down and I knew I would be able to buy him back for a lot less.

In the champions league home games, I'm getting just under £4 million per game because try to I start all my superstars and legends.

Rooney's regening in January so looks like I'll be getting him on a free, might even build him up myself rather than selling him to make a quick buck. Squad size is currently 24 so come January I'll be adding another 8 freebie regens, should net me a nice tidy sum.

Is their any1 other than me that likes to stick with the real life squad & not buy any1?. I only buy if the team buys in real life

In career mode (/ML) I don't allow transfers until January of my first season, then I just buy/sell as normal (i.e. not following real life from January).

cool & how do u change controls to manual? Plz don't tell me I need to restart ML to change it!

Either

TOP MENU>Extras>Options>Player Data Settings

OR

Press square ([]) on the select sides menu

In the menu that opens switch pass support and Shot Type to manual.

No, you do not have to restart ML for this.

To be honest I couldn't think of anything worse! One of the best parts of a PES Master League for me is clearing out all the 'dead wood' when I take over a team and buying & developing my own players...
...but each to their own, if you're enjoying the game like that then its all good :D

Well, isn't that what all the fuss has been about with people up in arms that the squads are out of date?

Heh, back when Benitez was in charge at Anfield I actually wanted to play with the correct Liverpool squad in a league set up. I used to play a league with the correct team squads and also one that allowed changes. As of right now though, I have to agree that I couldn't imagine ever wanting to take over a Rodgers LFC squad, which is what Klopp and anfield89 have to contend with.

Yea I feel sorry for Klopp to be honest (not to much though as a Man Utd fan) :D

Looks like he's getting the best out of Coutinho now but lots of work to be done. I'm sure Liverpool will dip into the market in January and back Klopp with some money.

Zaza better than Suarez!?

One of the best players in the game. Zaza and Morata are two of the most overrated players, stats wise (they're good, but not that bloody good).

Played a little bit more with Zaza last night as Luis Suarez is out injured for a fortnight. Holy shit-heap! He is ridiculously good. Through ball from pretty much anywhere and he latches on and scores! Luis Suarez can't do that for me! He out-speeds and out-muscles any defender thus far and bang! Selection headache now. He's too good to be on my bench! (Bear in mind I'm still in the Sky Bet in my second season so no European games for me as yet). I think I trust him more than Suarez in front of goal! Madness, but Suarez seems to take a fair few chances before he nets and is not very successful in races against defenders when is put through..I reckon Luis was dealt a bum rap ability wise, especially his pace! Hmmm.....

Why not play them both (when Suarez is back fit)

Zaza as your CF - if you feel better with his conversion rate
Suarez as a SS or a LWF/RWF - coming in from out wide, similar to the modern day role of an inside forward.

I think Benteke being fit creates space for Coutinho to operate in, as defenders tend to be pre-occupied with the big fella up top. I don't think that there's as much to do at Anfield as some people think. If Sturridge and Benteke had been fit from the start and with a manager who understood that tactics exist, I think we'd be up there with Utd at the moment.

I'm not convinced by Moreno, but he fits Klopp's style. Enrique is better IMO and Flanagan should return at some point as well, so I'm not sure what Klopp will choose at left back in the long term. Mignolet is playing better nowadays (team chemistry? LOL) but could be replaced with a better keeper. However, replacing Lucas would be my primary focus. Can is a box-to-box player and will be an asset in the middle, but not as a DM. He simply doesn't mark players or track them well. We need a pure DM who has enough pace for the Premier League and can pass reasonably well. Lucas is too slow and bumbles into tackles too late. Smiling at the referees after doing so has spared Lucas a lot of red cards (via second yellows) IMO. People criticise the CBs but Liverpool's tight defence vanished when we no longer had Alonso or Mascherano sat in front of it. With Lucas in front of the exact same back four and keeper, Liverpool instantly started to leak an extra 10+ goals a season. So how does a set of defenders go from being 1 or 2 goals a season off being the best in the league (with the only better defence being one that adopts the bus parking philosophy) to suddenly leaking goals all over the place? Certainly Rodgers regularly replacing them hasn't made a blind bit of difference. In summary : Replacing Lucas and having Benteke and Sturridge fit = top 5. A better manager than Rodgers as well = top 4. That's while the other top clubs are as they currently are. Utd need more work I think (especially going forwards) and are being kept somewhat buoyant by heroics from De Gea. Strikers are the hardest thing to replace I think.

Yep I had considered going with the modern day formation of 1 CF and 2 supports either side. As I currently play with Suarez and Lorenzo Insigne as 2 front men, I might just split them and have Zaza ahead. I always end up every year with a formation of 3-4-3 (3 CBs, 1 DMF, 2 Flankers who can attack and defend, and an SS behind the top 3) as I progress thru my ML, obviously favouring a very attacking approach but one that can get back in numbers if needed. In my first couple of seasons I always play a bit safer, a 4-4-2 with a diamond middle, so that's where I'm at now, as I'm mid-way thru season 2.

I got to January last night and noticed Klose and a load of "regens" in my youth team, so I can probably afford the formation change as there'll be enough cover. All depending on whether I can pick up some decent CBs in the window, right now I have Vasijl & Natali (16 year old youth promo guy).. So much in need of reinforcements at the back!

every football game I play I always stick with the same squad. To me buying Benzema or whoever completely takes away the immersion of playing my real life team. I'm enjoying the season thoroughly especially with Big Ben up top :). I love balancing the squad & giving players like Origi chances in the Europa.

I'm in the middle of season 5 now, in the premier league I have won 19 games out of 19, in all my years of PESing I have never achieved that before.

Great list of regens cropping up now, Rooney, Torres, Carrick, Hulk, Valencia, Totti, Fellaini, Arteta.

Suarez came back from injury last night and banged 7 in 2 games! I think I've discovered how to get the most out of him ability wise, relying less on pace and more on patience when on the ball with him. Seems if you try to pace by a player with him, or play the ball in front of him to run onto, it gives defenders a good chance to steal it. Playing to feet and shielding and turning at the right moments is way more beneficial (I don't do tricks, it's football not the circus) :)
Still think he was dealt a raw deal with speed ability, should be faster than PES gives him credit for. I've adjusted his training to concentrate on speed so will see if that improves much.

Also brought in a 16 year old Drogba regen who came off the bench in the 80th minute and contributed with a good aerial assist and a worldy volley! The force is strong with this youngling!

Hmmm ... 84 Speed, 85 Explosiveness and 93 Attacking Prowess for Suarez? I think they should have put Explosiveness and Attacking in the high 90s. It's that first 10 yards where he used to leave players behind and 84 speed would be fast enough to stay ahead of them. Body Balance at 86 is probably preventing him from muscling past a CB as well, which he can most definitely do when chasing a through ball.

I had Drogba as an aging freebie in my first season and him getting on the end of Gerrard crosses (including corners) is what helped fire my team to the Premiership in one season via the playoffs.

Definitely agree with you there. Should easily be high 90s for attacking, explosiveness and body balance! I can think of many goals Suarez got for LFC and Barca that would support that argument... as you say, it's that first 10 yards that Suarez is in the zone!

Hmmm I was thinking about loaning him out to see him improve or cashing in on him as I also just received Klose in my Youth Team, but I might just keep him and see how he materialises!

Yes I've noticed that too. The most important stats are dribbling and explosive power. Coutinho has both at a very high level and I can weave through midfield easily and evade those crazy tackles especially with the new aggressive AI thanks to the patch and during Derby matches.

I think I've finally completed my master league overhaul of Liverpool. It took me three seasons. And it wasn't easy.

I've now got:

GK: Courtois, Mignolet, C.Lampe.

CD: Sakho, Varane, Rugani, Ilori.
RB: Clyne, Elmonovski (youth player to replace reliable Flanagan who is now a first teamer for Southampton).
LB: Gaya, Moreno.

DM: Kondogbia (to replace Casemiro who was good but not dynamic enough), E.Can (One of my favourite players in real life).
CM: Pogba, Henderson.
AM: Götze (I purchased for only $18M), Coutinho (an excellent dribbler). Götze rips defences apart with his passing while coutinho just runs with the ball.

RWF: Lucas Moura (dribbling God with 93 dribbling and 95 explosiveness), Markovic (a lowly 83 but surprisingly good, easy to dribble with, fast and always makes the run to the back post for easy tap ins)
LWF: C.Ronaldo (a complete luxury purchase at the start of my third season and at age 32 arguably not a prudent purchase) and Jordan Ibe.

CF: Origi (84 rated and still improving!), Benteke, Ings (so underrated; fast and accurate finishing).

I had so much money I ended up purchasing a cheap maestro LWF to boost Ronaldo's training and keep the decline at bay. And I got itchy fingers and ended up loaning in LWF grand master Mertens to add even more training boost. On retrospect I should have just loaned Mertens so I'm now hoping I can sell that maestro LWF in January.

But C.Ronaldo has a fantastic impact on the team. Origi's training is heavily boosted (38% training boost) and Moura who has already peaked at age 25 recently increased his rating from 93 to 94. Also I'm getting the income bonus. But most noticeably, my bogey scripted teams feel shockingly very easy to play against now. In the last two seasons I struggled massively against Chelsea and Man Utd due to heavy scripting. But in the charity shield I trounced Chelsea 3-0 easy with this new team. Haven't played Man Utd yet. But so far it seems it really helps having a superstar on the other side of the flank. Lucas Moura has more space and the midfield guys have more space to play. I'm not sure if this is psychological but even if it is, Ronaldo had fantastic movement and I'm always two passes away from a quick counter and a 1v1 vs. The opposition keeper.
