I have TONI and VAN BUYTEN in my team, they started out as 16 years old at the beginning of the second season. Starting OPR was 75 and 72 respectively. VAN BUYTEN has 90 Body Balance to begin with and the man marking card. TONI is tall, really tall. Sorry, I do not have any sreen shots from when they appeared.

PS In my game Riise appeared as a 16 tear old at the begining od second season.

Then I might have him for the second season now, without knowing

I also got Van Buyten, but he is too slow for my needs. As I only play with one CB he mustn't be slowish, for the sake of not conceding 5 goals a match.

I'll update the posts

I now am absolutely sure that regens can come up with at least 17 years of age. I took note of some of the players that were retiring, and the following season I went looking for them. Most have 16 years, but some, specially GKs, can have 17. Just be aware

Player Name: Dempsey, ingame Dewlay
Age: 16
Strong Foot: Right
Player Style: Hole Player
Registered Position: SS
Other Positions: CF (A), AMF (A), SMF (B) and CMF (B)
Approx. Salary: 1.2m€
Brief Description: This guy is huge! Really tall and strong, and adds speed to the equation. I played against Copenhagen in UCL and he was unplayable in both games. Great technique, powerful and very precise shot from distance. Tracks back and helps build up the play from the early stages. This is the kind of player that pushes the entire team forward. The complete package.

Player Name: Amauri
Age: 17
Strong Foot: Right
Player Style: N/A
Registered Position: CF
Other Positions: SS (A)
Approx. Salary: 750k€
Brief Description: One of the biggest surprises here. I know Amauri has always been a star on PES, but at the age of 17 with those stats it is just ridiculous. And the wage he asks is incredibly smal too. This is a great buy for teams short on money, and that need a strong holding CF. Or just a guy who solves matches alone. With is physique, speed and technique he can do everything. Excellent header, great movement off the ball, etc. Can't go wrong with him.

I have questions regarding Regens.
  1. Do they only appear as players in the group Others? Or can they appear as Free Agents or in other teams also?
  2. I am in my third season now and the players I'm getting in my youth team are all with very low stats, OPR of around 60 +- 2. Will it remain this way or the quality of Youth Team players improves over the years?
  3. it is quite hard to sign these players at the begining of the season and transfer fees about 2.5 times their market values have to be paid, am I doing something wrong? any strategies?

1- They can appear in three ways: in a random club, in "Other", and rarely as Free Agents.

This brings two situations: I don't know who was the dumbass that decided to create Others, when Free Agents would suffice and with much less confusion, but he was a genius compared to the fucker who decided that Others should be a fucking team. Which means, you have to pay transfer fees for them, but can't trade any players because they aren't in a fucking team. So, players in Others and in teams have to be payed wages and transfer fees. If they are Free Agents, obviously, you only have to pay them their salary.

One thing that happens quite frequently, but that is impossible to predict, is players that appeared in a random team get released. At least Howard regenerated this season and came in some south american team, and later in the Transfer Window he was in the Free Agents list. It's really gambling, you never know when this might happen.

2- I reckon the Youth Team only gets the worst players. No idea why, but I'm on season 4 and it remains like that.

3- PES stupidity once more. You have to pay a lot more over the Market Value for a player, even the regens in Others (right, they are soooo emotionally attached to being employed by no-fucking-one). There's no way no overcome that other than paying what they ask. But if the AI makes you an offer they will get that creepy green smiling face even if they offer way below the Market Value. I don't get it. No one gets it

Rebelinho, in what season did you find the regens of Pelle, Amauri and Buffon?

If I remember correctly it was in seasons 3, 2 and 2, respectively. Season 2 refers to the first season when regens appear, this is, the second season you're playing

It doesn't matter that much knowning when they came up as it changes from game to game. One of my friends got Weidenfeller on his 2nd season, and mine is still going strong in Ajax after 4 seasons.

I am looking for a player in the Eborcany mode (can play all across the midfield and also as both fullback). But needs better stats than him, any suggestions?

As fas as regens go I remember Lahm (not yet a regen for me, but we'll get there), Behrami and Kolo Touré.

Also, Vidal and Schweinsteiger can play in those positions, but they might take a while to retire

Thanks. Is there a way in which I can search in game, which players play multiple positions?

Yes, when in Advance Search, go to Positions and chose the ones you want. Then, if you want players that can play in all of then, chose "and", if they just need to play one of them, chose "or".

Example: you select LB, RB, LMF and RMF. If you chose "and" only players that can play in those four positions will be displayed. If you chose "or" it will show players that play at least one of those positions, like a LB or RB, but not necessarily all of them.

Alright people, found some more new stuff:

- Some regens will appear before the 1st of August. It looks like it's random, and we can't really predict when they will appear, and who will appear

- If you Advance Search during August there won't be players with the "Retiring this Season" message. It will only appear in September, this is, you can only know who will retire next season after the transfer window closes

I have recently finished my 1st season in ML and on the 1st day of the new season I went to free agent/no renewal to see if anyone who put their talks on hold had been released, and it was populated with every regen player - all 16 and all in the free agent section. Only problem was I had a full squad/waiting for players out to leave, so I missed my chance with the pick of the bunch. Most had moved or agreed to join new clubs by the 1st chance I could go for them. I did manage to sign M. Klose though, he started 72 OPR with about 5 or 6 greens and 1 yellow, so not bad really. After 12 league games of the new season (he has only played in about 4 and scored 2) he has gone up to 73, and I have him going to Leicester on loan in January.

Other players to come through included:

D. Pizarro - 74
T. Rosicky - 74
Di Natale - 74
M. Yepes - 74 (I have had a £3.5M bid for him renegotiated to £4.2M just before I turned it off, I will probably go for it)
A. Cole - 71
Robbie Keane - 70
Lucio - 69

Speaking of regens, I have been left with a hole to fill in defensive cover with the announcements that both Jagielka (33) and Distin (37) will retire at the end of this season - Jagielka 1 day after I turned down a £5.3M bid from Spurs....doh!

I searched for players over 33 years of age to see who else was retiring, and the stand outs were Drogba and Xavi. Gonna make sure I have some room come the start of next season.

If you need to free up room in your squad and can't sell any of them you can always take a small cash hit and release them immediately, depends on the value and rating of the player but a 60-70 rated player should cost you no more than a few hundred thousand to release.

I can recommend Zouma from Chelsea as a defensive replacement. He's a younger, more improved Distin, just as physical with great ball winning abilities and at 20 yrs old and will get better and better.

I cannot get into Master League knowing that these players will just start anew almost as soon as they retire. I don't see any point in putting forth any focus on personnel development/transactions with this included as a feature in the game mode. EA Sports' canadian soccer game moved on from this in 2011ish and I was very pleased, so why haven't Konami developed a true player generator for ML as opposed to recycling or REgen'ing? What's the point in retaining regen as a career mode feature? if there even is any as aside from being a placeholder

It's one of the main reasons I like master league so much. Now that they don't regenerate as super youths you still have to put the time in to develop them. I honestly don't see the problem with it, if we had to rely on a Konami player generator our future teams would be filled with players with unpronounceable names and who all look the same. Xavi has just come back on mine, he has 72 or, 60s for speed power and stamina, if I get him now it will be a good 3 or 4 years before he gets a sniff of a regular starting place, but I know I have my captain sorted out if I'm still playing in 7 or 8 seasons.

So after my 1st batch of regens appeared in the free section, this years all appeared in OTHER with 4 or 5 useless ones in my youth team. Distin retired and came back with some decent prospective stats, but he was in others and went straight to Granada after my 1st "forward time". Xavi and Drogba are both in others and will cost around £9 - 10 Million each. Think I'm going to let them go to real clubs and try to get a swap deal on them. Schwartzer was part of the 1st bach that came through and whoever he went to released him, I found him aged 18 on a free whilst looking for a promising young 3rd choice keeper.
