I played both Ps3 and 360 versions extensively. I'm really sorry for Ps3 owners. The game is plain awful, clearly rushed. :no: For 360 owners, as I played also the flowed Pro 6 for the 360, the experience is a lot better, no noticeable slowdown etc, BUT! The game is childish guys... I cant believe Konami came with an arcade farse of the game we all love! :crymore: The keepers are a joke, graphics are i.m.o worst than Pro 6 (360 v.) except some close ups and faces, no atmosphere at all and I dont know how, or if its only me, but I think the gameplay is really limited. Edit mode is cut down again. I got sick of scoring easy goals, watching my keeper just stand like an idiot or just push the ball in himself! Seabass blew it big time and t.b.h I somehow prefer the FIFA experience this time, with better graphics and at least they tried to update their gameplay engine. They tried but Konami showed incredible lazyness and arrogance! :realmad:
To summarize, PES 2008 in Ps3 is unacceptable, in 360 is mediocre. This year for a couch sports experience i cant'go FIFA (not ready to conquer me yet I guess and I hate the fact that the computer always scores with direct free kicks) but I can surely go NBA2k8. Come on 2KSports, do a football game!

I agree about the keepers being retards... if you hit a shot from 30 yards or so the keeper always fumbles it out, or sometimes fumbles it into the net.

there's still the old cheat players/teams... Adriano(fast+can shoot from anywhere/Eto'o-incredibly fast/Henry-same as etoo)

i agree, give the game a chance. lets wait for the option files to start coming in, and the game will start to feel more authentic.

It's been out for quite a bit now in other countries, but I have to agree with the OP... Even with the authenticity offered by an Option file, the gameplay is very poor. The goalkeeper is horrendous, defensive marking/positioning is horrendous. Scoring is far too easy from seemingly every position, and corners are still predictable to defend and easy to attack. There are plenty of features gone missing and a lot more that could have been done. PES6 was far better in many aspects, it seems... I am certainly disappointed, especially after being slightly impressed by the demo.

i have had the game for 2 days know and played it alot and i have to agree that the keepers are really annoying me

you can just shoot with anyone woth a decent power rating from around the edge of the area but specially from a wider angle and the keeper drops it to your other forwards feet for a tap in. i have never scored so may goals when i have got a new pes usually stuggle till i get used to it

mind you i am still playing shit team in div 2 of master legue so i hope it improves when i play the good teams as this didnt seem to happen in the demo.

i was hoping for a training challage mode though like pes 5 etc but no such luck

am sure it will be all good after a week or so of play need to get used to it

why cant people be disappointed in the game? i for one am bitterly disappointed in it, not only at the points already made but the editings taken a leap back worse than i could ever imaagine, 1 pair of boots for every player? whats that about? other than advertising boards, commentary and loading screens etc i cant tell the difference from pes6, i feel like that asshole seabass is laughing at the fact that theyve done no work on it revamped the option screens etc and are selling the game and idiots like me will buy it.

ive tried to find the positives but i just cant, the selection game looked a good feature but when i pick 4 teams like ac, barca, real and inter i expect to see names like kaka, ronaldinho, messi, nesta against me, instead i get a bunch of players to play against i havent even heard of, maybe theres a way to change opp team but it isnt very clear how.

on the whole for me a very big let down and i know many others will feel the same but we will all keep playing it. why? coz fifa is shit and theres no other company that makes a football game to compete with the "big guns" i sincerely hope a maker that understands what gamers want makes a football game to make konami buck their ideas up coz ive not enjoyed a pro evo since pes4

PS3 version is plain awful, i'm a trying hard to like it. The PS2 version is much better, plays more like the old version. How the hell did they get the PS3 version wrong. They should of left the fancy graphics to FIFA. I think the PC version is also better

Oh man, dont be such a fanboy! All of us waited the game for so long, we had promises after the mediocre PES6 on the 360, he have more promises now for the 2009 version by Seabass because Konami KNOW Pes2008 is flawed! :unsure: I love Pro Evo and I have ALL versions since birth tof time man! This time is a big NO NO! Its obvious. And if you have a Ps3 you feel really cheated:no:

Ok, yes at the moment pes 08 seems far too easy... well a lot easier dan pro 6 unless ive just gone hugely better... ive just beat arsenal 4-1... on pro 6 no way would i off won that game with that type of score, but i really do like the new pro, i also got the game guide with it which i really like. Liverpool look really good on it, unlike most of the other times. The main bad thing for me is Adriano still has 99 power so all were goin to get on network is people playing with Inter Milan again. Another bad thing is the money... players are so expensive this year... why though? Anyway good things about the game is the gameplay, the teams, master league etc... i really do like this game, i'm just finding it too easy at the moment and im really crap on pro's!

Still enjoying the game, am ignoring some of the wonderfully special things my keeper is doing. Got a good rotation policy with keepers at the moment!

Im finding it easy to score also even on the "Top Player" level ive scored 3 or more in every friendly ive played so far even against the top teams.
