Well, after playing PES11 on PS3 for months now, my conclusion is...

It's a pure shit game! This is coming from one of the biggest die-hard Konami fans. What I realized is that it takes months of playing to really judge the game. At first I loved it but the more and more I was playing I realized:

Unless your Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barca, Inter, you won't do much. This game was built only to have 4-5 good teams and other teams flat out can't outwork the other teams I mentioned above, especially online play. Even with all patches and editing the game still feels off balance and unrealistic in my honest opinion.

I really don't know what I like about this game anymore. I do like the graphics, the pitch, that's about it. The entire gameplay is just so scripted. Players run into eachother all the time. Ball always hits my player! I've had enough of these stupid mistakes.


I then bought FIFA 11 and while I'm not that impressed, FIFA 11 DOES offer better simulation and a true feeling of having a REAL football match. It's not a PING-PONG type of match like PES11 is. I also think PES11 doesn't really offer true 360 DEG. movement. You want real true, life-like movement try FIFA 11. It's on another level. Playing FIFA 11 feels like watching a real football match. Playing PES11 feels and looks like a video game. PING-PONG. Keep in mind, this is coming from a KONAMI fan who is still a fan but fed up with their recent releases.

I will not buy another KONAMI game until this shit is fixed. I'll play FIFA because it seems like they always improve while KONAMI always fuck something up....wait...on another note...since we all pretty much think PES will never return to its glory PS2 days...why are we even playing this utter shit on PS3 ? really ?

I am about to buy PS2 again, buy WE7I patch it and have a proper football game. WE7I shits all over PES11.

sorry to have to say this cause i've been a PES fan for years but you are not alone.
i even let a friend of mine borrow the game just because i don't play it anymore.
such a thing was unthinkable in the past.
agree with you that a patched WE7I is much, much, better and i also think that PES2008 for all the complaints it has gotten over the years(so expect a shitstorm over this) was the best fun i've had with a PES game on the PS3.
this is the one i'm playing at the moment with updated stats and i'm working for every win( i like it like that)
played the FIFA demo and wasn't impressed but maybe i'll pick up a copy and check it out.
though i would kill for a patched PES6,WE7I or WE10.

I remember quite clearly how you insulted me when I said that PES11 was utter rubbish; but look at you know, you finally figured out what PES11 really is.

PES10 was better in my opinion, and it was better due to the L2 Strategies and the more responsive feel, PES10 was more "engineered for freedom" than PES11; PES11 is just a very bad video game in my opinion, it is one of the most scripted and most pretentious video games I have ever played, it feels like watching a movie rather than playing a video game.

PES12 will be more of the same. To be honest, I have already made my mind up about PES and I don't intend to buy PES12, Konami and EA Sports are simply making the game dumber and dumber and calling it an improvement; I'd like to see a new offering from another company.

I suggest you try playing PES10 in a new manner, play around with the L2 Strategies, use the L2 Strategies almost as much as you pass the ball, and see what the game did offered.

I think PES10 is the most fun I've had playing any PES game, the use of the L2 Strategies offers an entirely new dimension to the game; I feel the robotic animations are the big let down of PES10, but the gameplay can be quite good if you play around with the L2 Strategies.

PES10 would have been a CLASSIC had Konami tweaked the correct elements of the game; but instead, with PES11, Konami simplified everything, breaking the best thing that PES10 offered (the L2 Strategies), making a simple game even dumber than it already was.

Well, you all know how i feel, pes is shite, i was one of the 1st people on here with a pes 2010 vs 2011 debate, i been playing pro evo every year since iss pro 98 on the ps1 and i can honestly say hand on heart that pes 2011 has ruined the series, im still playing 2010 just doing the transfers myself.

pes 2011 is great on the ps2. I own pes 2011 ps3 version and fifa 11 on xbox 360 too.

Against the cpu or against a mate, the ps2 version is the best choice this year in my opinion

I wouldn't be surprised they stick with the game engine until new hardware hits the stores. I'd just like to see them really engage the fans and iron out the ridiculous flaws. I'd also like to see them ask the fans what they'd like to see in the game instead of offering us stupid AI and shit unlockables.
