+1 eliminates a lot of issues with gameplay that bug me.
1. slow reaction of players to the ball
2. floating ball effect
3. players feeling like they're running on ice when getting a pass
4. defending players react better
5. defending players catching up to quick offensive players

+1 feels much more like the PES games of old. It makes the gameplay exciting, fast paced and more tactical due to the better reaction. The actual game speed doesn't feel much faster, its the players that move faster and react better IMO Plus the ball physics seem more realistic.

I'm an exponent of the -2 game speed, it only has one slight draw back in that you need to measure your passing power gauge more carefully. Still, you could call it a hardcore purists game speed, it seems well balanced enough. Now, if something could be done about the AI.

-2 before I snapped the disc in half on friday.

Yeah, I've been there! I snapped two PES2010 discs and bought it about 4 times. I've already bought PES2011 twice as well!

EDIT: Montanaro, on the PS3 version you can change the gamespeed to -2. I highly recommend trying it.

Will have to replace it this week, the controller died a messy death as well. People keep finding bits of plastic all over my living room, feel like a dick for buying the game again I just can't go without a football game and fifa is not an option. Just sick of the AI and ridiculous scripting in ML.

Glad its not just me! I smashed up my controller only after a day of having PES2011! I'm such a grumpy shit as well when I play PES, I snap at my other half for no reason other than PES rage. I have to stop myself from playing it because I turn into such a tit. I've spent a bloody fortune on PES for years, I wonder why I bother though, I lose hours of my life too it and don't tend to feel much of a sense of achievement either

For me its the draw of master league, maybe it feels more important than it should do and this makes losing a last minute goal all the more infuriating as you feel immersed. There should be a counseling service for people like us, I must have spent at least 500 quid on replacing pads and discs over the years. My lowest moment was biting the analog stick off, calmly taking the disc out and throwing it across the room before gathering enough money together to replace what I had broke. I might as well just sit in room burning piles of money

I get stick from my mate about endlessly breaking or trading the game in and then re-buying it! Its like I forget all the things that drive me up the wall about it, convince myself I can remain calm and give it another shot and then lose my rag and get rid of it all over again. Its mental!

That was PES2010, I traded it in twice as well, must have bought the bloody thing about 6 times!

Sheer brilliance. PES used to drive me insane when I was younger too. I remember nutting my PS2 controller at one point when my mate scored a last minute winner against me.

I used to smash my PS2 controllers from time to time, but I'd never snap the disc itself, it would involve too much calculation in getting it out of the console whereas if I'd lose the plot for a second I'd rage at the closest thing - obviously the controller in my hand - job done. Thankfully I no longer go mental with games though, I may occasionally turn the console off but I'd never smash anything. You can say I truly appreciate the value of money now.

I use the default speed. It saves me changing it all the time when I play PES on different consoles.

Also, I'm used to it now.
