Konami still haven't surpassed fifa 09 in terms of gameplay which is staggering. They've had years to look at how to do animations but havnt tried that hard. Unless they have an absolute overhaul in this area I'm already writing it off.
I can live with almost anything else but player movement since pes 6 has just been a disgrace to the series. If fifa just dropped the speed a tiny bit so u can't get closed down super fast it would be the perfect gameplay experiance.
Pes is too far behind on gameplay. They need a new animation engine or atleast 8-10,000 new animations. Fifa is so good to play and pes needs to challenge that
Yeah right, because pace will make a rubbish game good, right?
FIFA is ok for a laugh, but the animations do not hide the fact that FIFA11 is an outdated and insubstantial video game. Again, someone who thinks that slowing down the game-speed will produce the perfect gameplay experience....
Which shows how much you don't know about FIFA and PES. Stupid and lazy argument from your part.
True. The massive multi paragraph posts don't help. I have a life, I cba to read through 20 paragraphs about L2 passing. Who gives a shit ffs. I try and politely debate but some people go so needlessly technical I don't know why they bother. Maybe we could make this place like twitter where u can only write 300 characters.
Seriously people can we make posts sharpe and to the point. I've read reviews on both games. I don't need a 2,000 word essay on the glitches in fifa or what pes used to be like. If u have a point, make it and respond when replied to.
I also have a life, I just prefer to spend my time writing objective 2,000 word essays, as opposed to saying stupid shit like you and many other consumers.
Tweeter? So, you would like to write and read stupid shit all day long? You have that choice.... there's no need to limit the length of posts in PESGaming just because you are a lousy reader who prefers to read quick and short bullshit.
And hey, you also have WENB, people are not allowed to post 2,000 word essays on WENB; I suggest you give it a try.
By the way, you are not politely debating anything. Starting with the fact that you have no argument, and therefroe you cannot really debate. Suggesting that you have a life whilst other people don't, is not polite, and makes you something of an arrogant asshole.
I say, talking about life in a PES11 thread is quite sad, also, your argument is stupid and doesn't deserves any time.
I know you don't play footie games ..but you should at least watch the darn sport if you intend on continuing to write novels about it.
Lookie here!

Dude, you are ridiculous and pathetic, in every sense of both words, as a consumer.
When you have the time, get out of your own arse, look around, and learn something that you might not want to hear.
No, FIFA11 is not realistic. Yes, FIFA11 is rubbish. Yes, you were a PES fanboy. And yes, you are now a FIFA fanboy.
There is no in-between with you, you are always right about what you think, and whomever does not agree with what in fact is your opinion, you figure that the mentioned someone must be some moron who cannot see how right you are.
The fact that you come here, when you enjoy FIFA11, says a lot. The fact that you cannot tell the difference between a fact and an opinion, means that you are not well informed.
Dude, can you imagine? The game is not even a month old and we are already discussing what needs to be fixed in 2012. Do you know how long we have been doing this? Every year since 08.
Currently is seems there is just a handful of ppl who still believe that this title will survive under Seabass. And they are here trying to convince others that PES has evolved. Check the stats .......Fifa is again the #1 footie game on the market. Does this mean anything?
I endorse the movement ....GET RID OF SEABASS
By all means, get rid of Seabass; he still thinks that 100% automatic movement without the ball is the way to go, which is clearly not, it is an out of date concept.
Having said that, before uttering false statements, you should know that FIFA has always been the #1 footie game on the market.
Also, you might have noticed that pategato mentioned something about the Wii game; not FIFA, but the Wii versions of PES: something different to both PES11 and FIFA11.
I think the PES series need a new development team, get rid of Seabass and his people, who seem to be stuck in the same hole forever, then put in charge that dude who makes the Wii version, which is a truly outstanding game.
Best response I have written so far: get rid of Seabass, start over with some new blood.
I have not played the Wii version, but I've heard a lot of good things. Personally, I have other ideas as to how it should work, but anything would be better than PES11 or FIFA11 at this point; the genre needs something DIFFERENT.
PES11 and FIFA11 are, quite simply, the same old bullshit with some new details attached to it.
As a friend of mine used to say "The top level is difficult for the wrong reasons. Favouring the CPU in a way you'd expect from an arcade game by ignoring the stats and just speeding everything up"
That's a very good point, but it has always been the case, and we all know how easy it is to run past players in PES6, PES09, PES10.
Balancing the game a bit, like in PES5, does not makes it that much better, because the game is not manual enough: the game is not precise nor technical enough, the game is scripted or pre-determined.
So instead of looking at the game all the time, this is when it is necessary to also look at the way the controls/buttons work: the left analogue stick.
How does the left analogue stick works? You can cover spaces of over 50 feet of distance by simply directing the left analogue stick without the assistance of the sprint button.
The fact that the sprint button does not works without the assistance of the left analogue stick: means that the left analogue stick determines the direction in which you run, and also, the distance covered with the ball.
This is a major restriction, it means that the left analogue stick always affects the direction in which you run with the ball, it means that the left analogue stick will always produce non-precise movement from one space to another space: it means that the left analogue stick will never affect the direction in which you dribble with the ball without affecting the direction in which you run with the ball.
This is a key restriction, the root of the problem one could say, the STATS will work automatically, which means that if the COM favored both sides equally, always respecting the stats, the game would become easy and very repetitive; in many ways, even more scripted than it currently is.
The game would still be scripted, in fact, you could say that the game would feel more scripted than it currently feels; because the left analogue stick works automatically, which means that the STATS which are attached to the left analogue stick will work automatically: there is a fine line between the user using the STATS to his advantage, and the STATS doing the job on their own, automatically.
If the COM always respected the stats, it would be very easy to take Lio Messi and dribble past five defenders. This is why it is easier to play PES on the lowest dificult settings, because the COM is more balanced and respectful, and thus, the game is easier and also more predictable due to the limited variety in terms of left analogue stick animations.
In many ways, it is more scripted when you play it on regular difficulty, because you can easily predict what will happen next: take Lio Messi, run past inferior players/opponents, twist and turn here and there, easy goal at the end of it.
If the game is more balanced, like PES5 or PES11, then you have to compensate; defenders catching up with attackers, excessive spot-kicks, lack of excitement, etc, etc.
Making it more balanced will not automatically make the game a more exciting experience nor a more substantial experience; because the dribbling and man-marking concept remains unchanged, non-precise, scripted, insubstantial.
You cannot measure the distance or direction when tackling for the ball; you cannot measure the direction in which you dribble with the ball without affecting the direction in which the ball carrier runs with the ball, etc, etc.
Balanced COM or partial COM, the video game remains scripted, automatic, and insubstantial, at its core.... where it matters the most.
I just hope konami try to implement as much feedback as possible, I find the whole "we need new blood" argument rather naive. Konami need to realise they don't always know best. However I respect KONAM'S fuck you attitide more than EA's cop out attitude that tries to please everybody with limited gameplay and a number of shit game modes aimed at the casual online player. I am as critical of konami as anyone and maybe I sometimes demand to much from them, I think PES 2011 is a very underrated football game as people think they will learn everything in two weeks.
I disagree, I think PES11 is a very overrated video game.
I think Konami tried to please everyone with a very casual and dumb game, PES11, and with the +1 and -1 speed settings, which are clearly aimed at pleasing everyone.
I don't see the point of criticizing EA Sports for something that Konami also did; both PES11 and FIFA11 are very insubstantial games aimed at the masses who only play Online.
I already heard shaun7 saying that FIFA10 was better than FIFA11, this means, as far as I'm concerned, that FIFA10 was in fact as good or if not better than FIFA11.
I also said, that I prefer PES10 to PES11; which means, that I do not think PES11 is in fact better than PES10, because whilst it improved in some areas of the game, it has gone backwards in oessential areas.
This is what happens when you continue adding bells and whistles to the same old thing: two step forwards, two step backwards. The core flaws will never be fixed without replacing the Famicom Foundation.
If you continue tweaking the same old game, the core flaws will automatically move from one area to another area; this movement between areas, might be described as an "improvement" by a portion of the fans, whereas another portion of the fans might consider the mentioned "improvement" a step in the wrong direction.
The core flaws are the very same: SCRIPTED or PRE-DETERMINED video games, where we don't have the correct balance between STATS affecting the game and STATS actually playing by themselves.
This is why some people say PES5 was better than PES6, whereas other people say PES6 was better than PES5; this is why some people say that FIFA08 was the best FIFA game; this is why some people say PES11 is the best PES game to date; and this is also the reason why, feedback will not help matters in any way, because the vast majority of fans have absolutely no idea of how and where the game should improve.
Player switching, better animations, better AI, less scripted gamepay; and we will have a great footie sim -- that's our feedback.
Honestly, I cannot take it seriously, after years of playing the game; nobody bothers questioning the functioning of the left analogue, the functioning of the sprint button.
Yet what are the buttons that we use the most when we play PES and FIFA? The left analogue stick and trhe sprint button.
Yet nobody questions why the left analogue stick works the same way it worked 15 years ago; nobody questions why the sprint button does not actually works without the assistance of the left analogue stick.
Honestly, how can you take such a lazy and generic feedback seriously? Reading the feedback, in my personal experience, is like a contest of people trying to take the prize for the most unoriginal and generic statement of the day.
